Bought an LG, last year, not a Google fan, didn’t play nice with Roku / payment options. I have a TLC W/Roku…just an extra. I watch sports, have 5 lg. windows, S TX, bright/ sun issues during day. Samsungs working for me. (Samsung TVs don’t bounce like basketballs).. 3 new ones, 2 60Q (43 & 65), extra emergency buy 55” TU 7?…. One size doesn’t fit all…but I’m happy! Bought a stand & rolling tv stand! You Rock👍😎
Although this is an older video, it is one of the very few videos, or even reviews, for this TV. Thank you for this, Steve. I bought the 50" Select version for my smaller bedroom. It's got decent everything: picture, color, sound, contrast, viewing angle, and features. It doesn't have any glaring flaws which stand out. I would say it is well-balanced in what it delivers. I really appreciate the simple remote and simple interface when I am in bed. If you are an enthusiast, you might want to spend a few thousand dollars for your bedroom TV. If you just want to watch some TV before you fall asleep, the Roku Select series is well-designed, capable, and a great value for the money. I'll spend 4 times the money on a C3 when I decide I need to fall asleep to better black levels and motion....or when I want the ambient relaxation scenes I sometimes use to fall asleep burned into my OLED, because I forgot to put on the sleep timer. That will be awesome.
I just got this tv delivered today in 65". It was just $370 after tax. So far I'd rate it a 10/10. It has great viewing angles, colors, contrast, brightness, motion, screen uniformity, and my unit has zero backlight bleeding. This Roku tv has a very solid feel to it as well. I tried the new Toshiba C350, TCL S4, the Hisense A6, and this Roku branded tv beat them all. This is the best bargain among the 65" tv's.
Nice review. I just purchased this same 55" Roku in the Plus Series. I wanted a streaming TV that was easy for my wife to use with one remote. This TV was my choice and I think I made the right one. Thanks Steve!
@@tinarodgers5929 We are very happy with it! Easy for my wife to navigate and the picture quality and various brightness options is very nice. We like it so much that we bought a 40" Roku TV for our master bedroom! I mirrored the app selections from the 55" on the 40" so both TV's are the same in terms of navigation. We also added a Vizio 5.1 surround sound bar system to the 55" for an additional 199.00 and use the Roku wireless speakers (149.00) in our bedroom. We are very happy with our purchase decisions. The surround sound is a game changer for us.
Most likely these TVs are manufactured by one of their partners (TCL, Hisense) and branded as “Roku TVs”. Similar to how Roku rebranded Wyze smart home products for their connected devices product line.
Excellent! This is straight to the point, no nonsense review. If you're thinking of making a review video look at this one to see how it's done. Thanks, Steve.
How does this TV compare to the Hisense u7k? Would I be loosing out by switching to the Roku Plus? The picture is great but I don't like the Google operating system.
Good review as the term " for the purchase price" is indicated in this review and other reviews by UA-cam content creators when reviewing second tier TV's. These are TCL, Hisense, now Roku, ONN. Walmart brand, and possibly Insignia the Best Buy brand. Too often purchasers of second tier TV's are given wierd solutions to "work around" technical concerns. I am 2 weeks past my TCL one year warranty and this week the TV disconnected from the streaming APP and started flashing with a grey screen. There are no reviews on UA-cam that ever consider TV's that are out of warranty. Next purchase will be from a retailer that includes a 2 year warranty or a reasonably priced 5 year warranty. However my TCL QLED 65s546 provides a very nice picture that requires no adjustment. Second tier TV's require some type of extended warranty!!
Here’s hoping Roku can make great TVs! I’m a power user I don’t know if their TVs will be my thing (yet) maybe later down the road they’ll get more confident and consider making TV that would get a power user like me buying. In the meantime though I’ll still stick using the Roku streaming boxes

Is this a good sized television for a studio apartment? I think the viewing space would be 7-8 feet from my mini couch/love seat and about 10.5-11.5 feet from my bed. I think the general viewing area for the TV would be 12x12 regarding space. I bought the 43 inch version, but will be returning it because it’s small for the room. Should I go bigger than 55?
I have a friend who purchased a Roku TV. I was surprised to learn it just comes with the plain, simple remote as a small Roku Express does. So, how in the world do you access channels on these crazy things directly? Or do you have to go up and down through every freakin' channel to get to the one you want?
I understand, most people don’t use the channels that much anymore, you would have to rely on the onscreen guide instead. TVs are changing and unfortunately tv they decided not to change the design. There might be options on the app. www.roku.com/mobile-app
