I grew up with a German shepherd named basil. He was the most loving, loyal and patient dog ever. We never even had to shut our gate because he wouldn't leave the house unless we told him he could. He was very protective of us kids and probably would of taken a bullet for us. I can remember him jumping on the trampoline with us and letting a three year old (me) ride on his back like a horse. Basil was the best dog I've ever had but sadly age got the better of him and he passed at eleven years old. He was an amazing dog and now I hope that after university i will be able to get a German shepherd for myself. Basil died years ago and I still miss him. Rip Baby bas I love you.

I have wanted a GSD for 5 years, last Christmas my parents surprised me with a blue heller mix puppy, I love him so much! I’m still asking for a GSD so hopefully when we move I will get one!

Has never come true no matter how hard she has tried she wastes tears watching as some of the kids on the internet are surprised with puppies just because, that girl cried with joy to see the first video to have a reason to give their child a dog. And sadly that sad girl with only one thing she wants past electronics or fame, will never be able to come true because apparently because her family go on vacations once a year she can't have a dog. (And that girl is me :'I)

When my first German shepherd Layka died, I sobbed she was there for me since I was born. she died when I was 11. now Im older and I cried when we thought we were going to get one but the people never showed up. It was painful but look now, Im getting a German shepherd puppy she's coming to my house in a few weeks I promise you will get one. Just find a dog sitter when you go on vacations that's what my parents do. Please don't give up. it will be worth it. Things may seem like they won't happen but trust me, if God allows it, it will happen ❤
Once upon a time i have a beautiful German shepherd his name was ,,CAESAR "I still miss him.I also surprise my daughter like this mom and dad.My daughter was probably the same age like this one and now she 38.German shepherd are the best dogs in the world.They are just miracle if you know how to handle them.They are so smart and intelligent they are thirsty for learning and protect.

I have two GSDs. Most kids at an early age tend to be afraid of adult GSDs because they're very big dogs with very big teeth, but meeting one as a puppy makes you less afraid of them. My sister got married a few years ago, and her husband's brother brought his daughter over to visit my family for dinner. I wasn't sure how she would react to seeing my two GSDs, so I kind of panicked. She was barely two months old and my GSDs had rarely met kids her age before. My mom and I walked the oldest to the park one time, and we unhooked his leash to let him run around before he encountered a young boy, probably no older than 6. He made the mistake of running from my dog, and he was just trying to be friendly, but in the process was tackled and started crying. In light of this tragic incident, I developed a sort of paranoia that he might one day do the same to my brother-in-law's niece. Luckily, all they did was lick her face. German Shepherds have developed a bit of a reputation for being aggressive, but that’s not the case. I can see why people would be so quick to jump to conclusions simply because one of their kids made the mistake of getting the dog riled up, but German Shepherds are actually among the friendliest dogs in the world. Generally when young kids are involved, the dog will protect them even if they don't know them. German Shepherds are very faithful guardians not just to their family, but to children as a whole.

I think it is very important with GSDs to socialise them properly as pups. For all dogs really, but particularly GSDs.
