Let’s not forget the adult dogs that need a forever home. Just wanted to get the word out for everyone to visit your local shelters. Dogs have so much love to give us :)

Once I got off an elevator and found a beautiful (young) small-medium sized GSD, alone and curled up in a circle outside a dental office. I was stunned and approached with care. It was one of the most calm and well trained dogs I have ever met. That was 5 minutes of my life 25 years ago. I thought that dog's owner was pretty lucky.
Absolutely awesome. Reminds me of the day i adopted my dog. Then had to wait about a month until i could bring him home. He has been with me since Nov 2011. Thank you for sharing.

Well done and great choice of breed. My parents had two German Shepherds when I was born, best playmates always patient and gentle with me, best protectors. Dandy and Diablo lived good long lives. I have had other breeds of dogs since, Labrador, Pit and one day I’ll bring another German Shepherd along with a Pit into my life. In my opinion two of the best breeds.
@Scott Mack some people do crate train their puppy. I crate trained my boy when he was a puppy and although he didn't like it to begin with he soon got used to it. He slept in it only at night but only for a few months whilst l toilet trained him. Then l changed size of crate as he got older. Put a nice bed inside it, his toys and covered it totally with a blanket. I always left the door open and he would often retreat to his nice dark den when he wanted some alone time. Then when he was 3 l totally removed the crate. Now my bed and the sofa suffice quite nicely..
I have seen that puppies even have a way of winning over people who are not into dogs or are scared of them. Unbridled love can win even your staunch opponents.
That's exactly why people should look towards taking in an already existing dog or cat in need of a home rather than encouraging breeding which will only lead to more of them remaining unhomed or euthanized.
I hope your little guy brings you great joy. Please respect his hips and provide him traction on that smooth flooring. Carpet runners, throw rugs, grip strips... something so it's not like being on ice for him.
i've been brought up with german sheps , they are the best dog in the world to me personally (at one point we had 5 lol) love the little pot belly HUGE paws and long floppy ears (before they hold themselves up lol) stunning dogs (longest i had one was 17 years before she passed)
I will never get a German shepherd as long as I live. 2 of them have already broken I'm heart in the past, and on may 19th of this year the most beloved gsd ( Elsa ) passed away. My heart can't take it anymore......

German shepherds usually make great dogs. They tend to be obedient, loyal, protective of kids and on the smarter side. Plus they're often good looking animals. There are two people in the town I live in who have pure black ones. One of them is even a service dog. (his owner is a double amputee of the lower legs) Off topic I know, but can we all just give a hearty cheer for service dogs?

As much as puppies are cute, there's lots to be said for adopting a rescue Our cockapoo was in 3 other homes before ours when we adopted him in 2016, He may be a handful but he's very sweet and loving

You know, I crate trained my giant Dobie when I had him, but with my German Shepherd I just didn't even bother- he sleeps on a queen-sized bed now...
We haven't even begun to understand yet what dogs can do for us humans .
