Hi, I found a strange issue with my newly bought Saab 9-5. In position 0, I have my headlights; in position 1, no headlights, but I can activate the front and rear fog lights; in position 2, I have nothing at all. The high beams should be held at ever position and do not work if you are not holding it. Any ideas about what could it be?

Once you’ve established security access it holds that privilege until you pull into from another car. It is basically infinite access unless you change ecm or cim maybe. If just making changes like this you wouldn’t need to pull again unless had been used for security access on a different car

I love my '07 Saab 9-3 but I change my halogens every six months like clockwork - always quality lamps too. Every June and Dec they burn out (and it's June - the passenger just burned out last week - like I said, clockwork). I've always wished I could get the DRL to be the only lights on when the car is running during the day. I also have the left brake/tail light that I"ve replaced the socket on a few times. Just the left side. The lights work but the dummy lights on the dash say they failed.

Does the bulbs in a Saab get a slightly higher voltage, is it a overheating problem?..

I got a bulb and asked them to install while painting they said it was wrong bulb and they didn't know if it was the bulb or something else causing the problem. They said bulb was like 130.00 bucks. I drive with my headlights on permanently. "I" like to think it is a Safety thing. I've owned mine for 3+ years and have only replaced 1 headlight bulb in that time. There are different QUALITY bulbs. You may pay a small percentage more, but they are (obviously?) worth it. The same can be said for most of the bulbs in your car. Pay the little bit extra! Philips, Osram etc. Not the generic Lowes, Repco brands.
