    On most dodge trucks when running the power wire, my only suggestion for those who are planning on installing themselves would be to drill thru the plastic block off plate where the clutch pedal/cylinder would go thru the firewall instead of cutting thru the wiring harness boot. The block off plate has two 15mm nuts inside the truck and can easily be drilled outside the vehicle.

    One thing I learned installing car audio is to use a broken antenna, sharpen the end and use that for rubber grommets. When there is a choice for clutch pedal blank ALWAYS go for that. You do not want to nick a body wire bundle.

    I always hook my ground directly to the battery instead of the cab floor. In the mid 80s I use to hook my amp ground directly to the seat belt bolts, but notice the amps would run hotter than straight to the battery. A cooler amp will always last longer in the long run. I know everyone does it different and has different ways just trying to help.

      This can be done just make sure the ground is always shorter than the power and your good

    hey guy .just built myself a little sub box my self.it a single 10"woofer.but what i notice is how you dove your speaker wire through a hole you drilled.i did the same😆❗i just sealed it like you with a little wood glue/silicon.works great..i think! but we dont care what others have to say👍❗

    If you put an inch spacer where your bolts go you'll be able to fold the seat down words when you fold it up so you could be able to access the amplifiers at any time

    Thank you so much for this!!! I'm doing the same type of install and I needed to know the easiest way to do this. I wanted to ask...did you tap into the front speaker wires behind the deck or did you pick them up in the side channel along the floor?

    • @jaceri139
      @jaceri139 5 років тому

      If you have a factory deck and you’re installing subs and an amp, you’ll need an adapter and can tap into the rear speakers. If you have an aftermarket deck, you just need to run a remote from the amp to the deck and then just sorry about your power and ground wire.

    hi, one question , how do you deal with the factory amp that is allready on your truck? do you bypass it? i want to install an amp for my door speakers. i was thinking about, cuting the speakers wires on the amp and run them to the new amp. is it a good idea?

    hi, thanks for this video, i want to do this to my truck, one question, my speakers wires, i have to disconnect them from the harness and run them to the amp? what i have to look for when i buy amp and speakers, do i have to buy an amp for the subs and one for speakers? or i can buy one that does everything? if you can help me with this info, i will love it, i really want to do this to my 2009 dodge ram quad. thanks again.

    Did you need to cover that grommet in anyway after you ran the power cable through it? would it tear in its own do you think, or maybe just throw some tape on it and call it good?

    Question: Where can I connect the blue remote wire to? I have a 2017 Ram 1500, and I don't have a cigarette lighter to connect the remote wire to. I did pop out the radio and I see a solid blue wire coming out of the radio but I don't know if it's the correct wire to splice into with the remote wire from the amp.

    • @ghostlyrich
      @ghostlyrich  4 роки тому

      Is it a aftermarket stereo?? If you use a lc2i for a factory unit it allows you to use the auto sensing feature to turn the amp on and also allows you to add more bass if you the factory head unit has roll off at higher volumes

      Andrew Howard has to be tapped into both bro. honestly pulling the hu makes it so much easier to hook it all up

      Andrew Howard then if u want to upgrade the hu in the future you already have remote and rcas ran up there

      I ended up tapping into both rear speakers as my amp has high level input option. Works great. I have the 8.4" UConnect so that will never be replaced.

    1) Watch that power wire off the battery- it looks like it's crimping
    2) That fuse is marginally too far from the battery
    3) You should absolutely have grill bars over those subs with the seat right on top of them
    4) Sharpen the teeth on that beaver that cut away the battery terminal cover
