1:23 - Who is eligible for a visa without an interview
On March 11, 2021, the US Department of State has expanded the ability of Consular Officers to waive the in-person interview requirement.
The measure is applied to those individuals who are applying to renew their non-immigrant visa in the same category and if the prior visa has not been expired for more than 48 months.
💡Who is eligible for a visa without an interview
If you had been issued a non-immigrant US visa and your visa has expired within the last 48 months or 4 years and you would like to renew the visa, you can apply and obtain the renewal without having to attend the in-person interview at the US Consulate and Embassy abroad.
This policy is effective within December 31, 2021. Check if you are eligible for a visa without an interview by visiting the website of the US Consulate or Embassy where you are planning to obtain your visa.
