They're not referrencing their tennis quality or anything. Watching Dolgopolov play made me a much better, creative player. Already forgot how he was quick to smile and often seemed to be having great fun out there. A true ambassador for the joy of the game.
Amazing shotmaker that was to unfortunate with injuries. He beat Nadal and Ferrer twice. He also have wins over Söderling, Berdych,Wawrinka,Tsonga and Nishikori when all of them was ranked inside top 10.

called the lighting bolt serve or something like that i think. Basically moves every muscle in the body at a much faster rate than others allowing for maximum pop and power.
I remember I was 9 years old when I first saw him played Rafa in Madrid.. he was an unseeded player but impressed me a lot by his dropshots and unorthodox style. A few months after, I watched AO2011 and followed all his matches from R1 and he amazingly reached QF. Forever a fan since then.
Will miss Alex! I was in 2011 at US Open , when he played David Ferrer. I read right away his amazing versatility and great unique spins. (first time I saw him on tv the previous year, and I instantly liked his style). I owe Alex A LOT bc he inspired me to change the grip on slices. I am a teaching pro and everyone teaches continental grip on slices. Alex ,I am pretty sure has reversed grips .After I saw his slices and crazy side spins drop shots , I started working on changing the grip and go eastern grip on FH slices and SW on BH slices. Same on drop shots !!!! It took me almost one year to master the shots. It was a lot of work against the wall but soon I got it the results at tournaments or just playing were amazing...same drops he does here on this video were happening. I done drop shots on return of the serve that ball will come back on my side, or rolling back towards me in the net...in doubles the server will chase the return drop just to see it stopping on his side in the net !!! Or even worse ,on twist drop shots rolling parallel to the net and ending on the other court or at a country club at the feet of people sipping drinks and watching our match. People were stunned saying that they never seen anything like it.!!! Also slices became so nasty that one of my students who played D1 said that never faced there the slices I was giving him. I even made up the punch slice that puzzled people...Also volleying for finesse with SW grip allows you the craziest side spins etc. Thank you so much Alex for the inspiration !!!! An amazing player who always played with the a smile on his face and his skill level was absolutley amazing !!!! Unfortunatly now bc of ...putin , Alex volunteered to fight against putin's army and protecting his country from the invaders !!! I always like Dolgo as he’s so unconventional but only with such talents he could hit those wicked spins and also super hard flat missiles from both ends
I remember him beating Soderling at the AO playing a great BH. I never understood why he would slice it all the time. Loved his serve jump, dunno why not more players develop it.
He is the only player who uses such proposterous game plans. One of the idealistic players who everyone wants to be in heart, but nobody actually play like him in reality.
The Dog was so fun to watch. An incredible talent with a really unique style that could be absolutley devastating when he was on. It's sad to think we won't see that again.
The man had great potential and played a very exciting and aggressive game with flair. Shame the injuries have put a stop to his tennis career. He will be missed, but at least he had some great moments on tour and some big wins.
A big big talent, that unfortunately due to injuries has never truly achieved the goals to match his potential. Amazing guy, fun and chilled on court, unconventional player, fun to watch and a great talent. It will be missed
@@Nykodu06ftAccla I’m pretty sure you’re referring to the one at Wimbledon, in which case tennis tv don’t have rights to the footage as it’s a grand slam

One of my favorite players, a loss for the circuit, an atypical profile that is sorely lacking these days. Probably his slice against Dimitrov at Wimbledon. Any cheers to one of the most fabulous hairstyles on the tour.
That low ball toss & weird motion
