However, I would love to have my own practice where I can treat pediatric patients and also volunteer in rural/urban communities as a health care provider. I absolutely love the idea of successful WOMEN of COLOR RUNNING things on the continent, offering unique and highly specialized services (an ambulatory clinic), and giving exceptional care!! It was also encouraging to see an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) from the US in Ghana and able to be a trailblazer for APRNs. I'm SOOOOO encouraged and inspired! 🥰 If I don't join you all one day, maybe I can do something similar in another country on the continent!!😉 Blessings!!🙏🏽💖

As an African American physician (family medicine trained hospitalist/urgent care), I am very happy to see this level of sub-specialist care being available in Ghana (and into the greater continent over time). While this is a significant step in the right direction from a medical care standpoint, I would be very cautious for Ghana or any other African country to follow the same path of the American medical system. They need only to look at the bloated costs, red tape, and inverted leadership (executive/administrative driven vs. patient-doctor driven) set up of our system to see the significant pitfalls. I would issue a very strong level of caution from the infrastructure side going into the future so that the African people do not follow the same fate of the average American who goes into life altering debt just trying to pay off medical bills. As long as this pitfall can be avoided, I believe this is an awesome step in the right direction.

I am impressed that Lucca Care is providing this long awaited for system of care to the ailing population in Ghana. We need more of this not only in Ghana but around the whole World. If they bring this type of private practice in Major Kenyan cities they'll make a fortune, and simply because Kenyans run to India, SA or UK for specialized treatments and spends $100,000s and not to mention the cost of accommodation abroad. 😊
