Hi Tj, I have been visiting Ghana for more than 20 years and you will like it. Try to get in contact with Ghanaians in your area and get yourself someone in Accra to show you around for the first days because it is a big place

@@mobedick175 You mentioned that you have your flight reservations, have you paid and are you able to move your flight date. I want to make flight arrangements and wondering now. I had planned to go at the end of July and now thinking December 2020 which seems like a busy time because every hotel suggestion in this video is currently booked. I'm ready but COVID 19 has interrupted everything.

I have traveled to Ghana several times per year for the past decade. The thing to keep in mind is Accra is the capital and economic hub of Ghana, so prices for accommodation are going to be in line with any major city in the world such as Chicago, Paris, Kuala Lumpur, etc. I have only stayed at the last two places. If you want more budger friendly places, you will need to consider places outside of Accra proper.
Ohh okay I see, cause I was thinking like that's what we pay here, but the currency is 5:1 🤔🤔
@@nehebanebedjer8395 The hotels in Accra list/peg their prices to the US dollar. So I have paid $220 to $260 for a room at Labadi Beach hotel and Mövenpick hotel whether the exchange rate was 2:1 or 3:1.

Yes! Show them more of my beloved country. Good video Vanessa. Tourists are always welcome. Ghana is arguably the most peaceful/stable west african country and the people here are inherently hospitable. I wouldnt mind hosting one or two people if not too busy. Akwaaba anytime
If people are on more of a budget- there are plenty of hostels (Pink hostel or Agoo Hostel) which are a 1 ghc trotro ride away from Osu closer to Nima and Asylum Down- Less than $20 USD/night. A cheaper hotel I'd recommend is Urbano hotel ($100 USD) in the middle of Osu) that is pretty nice.

@@VanessaKanbi anytime. If people are really on a backpacker budget- salvation army guesthouse in Osu is only 20ghc/night ($4USD). It's not the cleanest and has open bathrooms so it's not for those looking for privacy but literally if you're looking for a place to put your things down while you explore the city it might be a last resort option.

Try the central region of Ghana which is not overly populated and has a lot of very affordable hotels and cultural heritage, low food prices and great standard of living right from Kasoa, Agona Swedru, Winneba, Cape coast, Elmina and many other places

Very helpful video, Vanessa. Most of these places are already booked through December and first half of Jan '20. Accra is gonna be FULL. Persian Luxury apartments in North Ridge is also a good one.
Useful guide. The big hotels have no character and isolate you from the true culture of this wonderful country as well as being overpriced

Labadi Beach Hotel and Mövenpick both have Ghanaian art featured throughout common areas and the rooms, and serve Ghanaian breakfast options.
I agree! I'vs traveled internationally a LOT & the hotel prices in Ghana to me are extremely HIGH!!
Cornell Sinclair at the prices they charge im sure they can decorate the place tastefully, the fact remains you are so far removed from the true experience of Ghanaian life staying in those places
There is not much there for the budget traveller, what’s offer there is expensive even by western standards. Ghana must enhance its tourism potential with affordable hotel rooms .

Great selection and of hotels! Ghana is beautiful :).
Beautiful hotels/suites. Definitely excited about our next trip home. La Villa hotel gives me similar vibes as Olma Colonial Suites where we stayed in 2016, it's just 8 minutes walk, 3 minutes drive from Koala and Oxford Street. We opted for a new hotel near the airport last year, it was pleasant too but we missed being in this area.

Oh my goodness! I stayed in Volta room on my last visit! I thought it was super nice for the price, the breakfast is worth mentioning. Local fresh food is ample and delicious. Agoo is also nice, Sleepy Hippo is not bad. Thanks for posting, missing Ghana. Oh and in if you are in Kokomlemle don't forget to check out One Corner restaurant :-) ~Ama~

Hotels in Ghana seems to be quite expensiv compared to east Africa but they were nice, one day i will have to come and se my brother and sisters in the west.

Love this! I go to Ghana on missions trips, got back 30th of August. The group I go with, we do medical missions and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We stay in the Ashanti Region of Ejura, visiting the villages of Alkeyle-Kope, Mompong, Ada Gorm just to name a few. I looooove Ghana, always feels like home. I don't know what it is but it feels so familiar to me. My family is from the Caribbean, but I feel such a connection to Ghana. We also visited Cape Coast 💔❤. Also there's a hotel in Ada that sits by the water, so beautiful. We took a canoes ride to alligator island. Accra is a busy area, love it. I always look for the 2 buildings that have the kente cloth painted on them. I'm subscribing, because I want to see where you go next. ❤❤❤❤ it, ❤🇬🇭🇻🇮
