video would have better if there was some guitar being played. :) other than that... flash bashtard :) when can i pop round for egg sausage chips n beans and a tea
Steve, have you ever done the reverse case, that is, a minimalist Pink floyd Pedalboard setup? I realize this is an oxymoron, but us guitarists who have no intention to be professionals would love to see your ideas on how to do this.
I attended the TAPFS August 6 in Costa Mesa, California (excellent show!) but Steve wasn't there..and this video was posted 3 weeks ago. Is the young blonde kid (as well as the saxophonist) just just "fill in" players for this tour...an example of the difficulties of touring in this new world? I hope Steve is OK and well! The two musicians both did an excellent job. I should have asked during the VIP Soundcheck experience! We'll see you guys again next year! Greetings from USA.
First of all ya need a 72 real fender strat or older.Chunk all those noisy pedals and crank your marshalls and add a fender stack...sweetens the sound.Thats all ya need...Univibe is good...fuzz face a must. Morley wha...
Can this reach Steve Mac. Back when yous started I seen you in Glasgow refrew ferry with about 50 people with my mum and dad. After the show I gave you my t shirt with a light up LED triangle like dark side of the moon triangle. You then sent us your own cd with a song called PlayStation Hero which was amazing... Anyways my father recently passed and I'm clearing his house and found a brand new Minidisc player with recordible Minidiscs. I am currently listening to your album on Minidisc, about 22-23yrs old and gobsmacked because I never thought I'd hear it again as the cdr you sent was lost yrs ago... Just want to say thank you for the memories and for the lost audio 👍👍👍👍 PlayStation Heroes I have told so many people about you would not believe... Whole album is genius specially the Spanish guitar track 6😯👍👍👍🏴🏴🏴 Update: I now have a MP3 of Playstation Heroes direct from Minidisc audio.. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I was wondering what sort of conpasitors and pot's and pickups do you use in your Fender Stratocaster. I am making my dream guitar Fender Stratocaster i recently bought a Seymour Duncan custom flat Strat SSL-6 for the bridge position and a Seymour Duncan Jimi Hendrix for the middle position for the 60s tone and a Seymour Duncan vintage flat Strat for the neck position for the 50s tone.
1971 or 2017? For 1971 he would’ve used ether a Germanium or Silicone Fuzz Face. For 2017 he had a whole bunch of different fuzzes and distortions. What i would say he would’ve used for 2017 would be ether a Rams Head, Civil War big muff, or a bunch of Tube Drivers stacked.
Impressive! And ya got me beat! I only have 27 pedals on my gigging pedal board. 2 tiers, 19"x34", with one 8 loop pedal switcher. But it gets the job done! LOL GREAT VIDEO! Thanks for sharing.
Steve, Gilmour had a setup with two Muffs are followed by two Tube Drivers. Is one tube Driver intended to be used stand-alone whereas the other one is designed to be used in combination with the Muff pedals?
Less than three minutes in....but already I can tell that guitar players in Floyd tribute bands, the world over, are delighted to see this!
Great video - but Steve is going to kick himself when he finds out he could have picked up a second hand Zoom Multi-FX for £50 on eBay.
I have a headache thinking about how frustrating setting up those loops would be

That’s coming in part 2!
@@domminney Well I never... Great stuff. When can I go for tea is what I really want to know 🤪🤪
For those of us who are hard of understanding, is this available in English?🤣
might have it in Irish or Scot
Hi Steve, Mr. Gilmour will be proud! Loved seeing you guys! Awesome :-)
This was fun to film
You’re a great interviewer Dave 😅
@@majd.z cheers mate
@@domminney dying to watch part 2
Great work Steve. Makes teaching Physics seem boring!
Monstrous and overwhelming.
great vid and rig, but where is the on switch ?
Fabulous. I'm drooling. Can't wait for part 2.
Yeh you can't get enough pedals hey lol
Any chance of doing your bass player pedal setup too ;)
25:40 sounds like it's the Fortin Zuul Noisegate.
How you know? Why not a noise reductor?

Awesome set up. Haven’t watched the additional Parts YET, but very interested in knowing what the noise gate is that got such praise?
Amazing video! Can’t wait for part 2
Great video!!
Nice to see Steve back. Looking well too Dave.
I'm late to the party with this video, but Wow! This is incredible Steve - Well done mate!
So interesting. Fascinating.
Thank you. 🎶🦘🎶
What's the background solo in the beginning of the video?
It's an instrumental by Steve Mac
@@Aussiefloyd is it available for download?
Wow!!

Welp, 5 compressors sounds about right, yep
what was the background music we heard in the beginning and towards the end?
This is an instrumental called Imperfect World by Steve Mac
Really enjoyed the video, would have been glad to know how you power all those pedals cleanly... did I see some GigRig units in there?
Ah, yes. The "LM108 transistor" in the rat. lol
When's he gonna start playing?
Ugh I want a hitone soups bad
up next... finger transplants.
Daaaaaaaamn, crazy and amazing at the same time 😁

I will ask Steve. I think the pickups are classic stacks. I'd imagine the pots and capacitors are factory.
Thanks for the amazing video.
Our pleasure!
A rig rundown of the live setting please? Would be great to have a up to date rundown of the live rigs....
Very nice pedal choices 👌
They are!
I was having serious envy... Then you pulled out the SY1000 and I literally just shit myself. That is the apple in my eye.
So clean. My biggest issue is with more pedals = more noise even if theyre off.
So Steve… you’re telling me the E Lady is better than the Camo Flange? ☺️
It is amazing that he was able to do this in his own home.
Imagine if one cable went bad
The switchers help mitigate that issue and more quickly isolate the problem area.
what fuzz did Gilmour use on live at pompeii?
Probably a muff, its either that or a face but it's always sounded more like a muff to me

Amazing... but 5 compressors? Really? Waste of loops...
Each to their own... :)
