Hey everyone! In today's adventure, I found myself in a bit of a predicament on the beautiful Isle of Man. 😅After an amazing day riding through the island's stunning landscapes, I realized I lost my motorcycle keys! With no spare key in sight and the sun setting fast, I had to make the tough decision to leave my beloved bike alone overnight.
In this video, you'll join me as I retrace my steps, search high and low for the keys, and navigate the challenges of being stranded far from home. From the initial panic to the unexpected kindness of strangers, this experience taught me a lot about the ups and downs of motorcycle travel.

Noticed the air ambulance plaque in the background. Awesome work Saffy, well done x 🎉🎉🎉
🥰 I'm rather proud of it
Hey Saffy - I do so many motorbike events and travel solo. It's all good, part of the exploration, recharge, etc. I always end up meeting and socializing with people along the way! Perfect combo of freedom and socializing.
Yes! You can be social when you want and none social when you don't want
Just because you are alone doesn't mean you're lonely.
Exactly 💯
I've done so many music festivals and bike rallies on my own, never felt lonely because soon after arriving, even when pitching your tent, you'll be talking to a whole new group of people. Always found that happens throughout the whole weekend. If it's something I want to do I just pack and go,even if I have to go on my own. I'm happy with my own company and as long as I have a good book ,maybe a small radio. I'm happy. It's a chance to get away from modern life,so I don't need mobile phones, laptops and any other of life's new gizmo's
Excelent video ❤ I love the green Background
Thank you! Cheers!
Nicely done Saffy we don't get any of those here on Vancouver Island . That would be sooooo much fun !!!!
Ah that's a shame! Bike festivals are ace!
I'll be dealing with the buffalo herd. Working on the bars!
Buffalo herd it is 😂
@SaffySprocket I'll do my best to control the stampede, we can only serve so fast 🙃
Hope you enjoyed the cheeky vodka!
Tracker Saf for the tent.
Lol
Yes 😂
Almost packed! Just need to load and check things off.
Mmm have a 20,000 battery but now thinking should have got another.
Got a free 2hr lesson and am looking forward to hearing the Welsh choir😂
P.s oh and thank God its not going to be as hot as the last few days.
The weather has been horrific these last few days. Its been too humid
@@SaffySprocket Might take a handheld fan. Am out of those Spanish ones😂
Am guessing at night will be cool in tents etc. (Gonna risk no sleeping bag🤪)
Is it safe to leave stuff in your tent ? How many thefts ?
Get GPS co-ords for your tent - use an offline App ? The GPS in your phone is working even if the internet isn't.
😮Congrats all involved with the AIr Ambulance sponsorship 🚁
I've not heard of any thefts! But to be honest, I never leave anything valuable in my tent under any circumstances, at a festival, at a campsite, etc
I saw the ABR festival for the first time last year thru your videos it looks like a TON of fun and you gave a great talk! Looking forward to seeing it again with your unique Sprocket spin!
Awesome! Thank you!
Had every intention to come over this year but unfortunately, work commitments prevent me from doing so...if you have time why not pop over to Stratford upon Avon, home of William Shakespeare, hope your weekend goes well Saff, ride safe, stay safe 😊
Unfortunately being a grown up sucks doesn't it?!
It certainly does Saff... maybe next year.
Safe journey home.
Great advice, unfortunately I can't get down there this weekend, otherwise engaged, i would like to give it a go one year though 😀
I'm sure you'll have a great time regardless
Great advice Saffy 👍. First time for me this year and going solo. Fairly new rider and not an ADV bike rider...yet! So I'll be 'that guy' on the non ADV bike 😂 but really looking forward to it
How did you find it ?!
@SaffySprocket Loved it!!! Atmosphere was really friendly, no one cared what I was riding we just all had the same Interest...Bikes!! Certainly made my decision that my next upgrade will be to the ADV bike.
Looking forward to next year and anyone thinking of going solo and doesn't own an adventure bike yet...do it, it's the best experience and you learn a lot before you dive into that world
Really wanted to got to ABR this year but going alone is what put me off going as none of my riding mates would be interesting in camping! Think next year I will just go for it 😊
Honestly just go for it! My first year I went alone, made tones of friends that I now see every year
@@SaffySprocket will just get the tickets booked when they come out.
Skimilar, .... Sure, that works for me, ..... after about 5 or 6 grog, we can talk about what and what's not skimilar about our bikes Saffy, lol.
Stay Safe.
Saffy lass thanks for the info ,,maybe see you there .
See you there
Hi Sa another excellent indoor review of your experience 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
No tickets 💳tent ready ⛺️ motorcycle ready 🏍👍
You and me both!
My first this year!
You'll love it 😀
Vocal fry is coming along nicely!
Huh?
Looks great fun, probably not my thing as I’m not much on touring but a really informative video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Won't be there this year due to cancer but it's brilliant. Enjoy yourselves folks 🎉
I'm sorry to hear that 😢
GWS my guy.
@SaffySprocket I'll beat it and I'll be back. Too many great things in biking to let a crummy disease stop me enjoying them x
Did you see the "Heroes wearing Helmets. The riders and bikes of the 2024 Longest Day Challenge. Cancer Research UK"? It was was on Obsession Engineering's channel. happens every year. Hopefully you'll be able to do it next year 🤞
So sorry.
Best mate is fighting it. His bike needs him back and I am sure yours does too.
About the DVLA code. As a Belgian visitor, whe do not have such a thing.
Manufacturers do NOT allow any foreign biker to test ride their bikes.
Most European countries do not use DVLA codes. After visiting ABR for the 3rd year, this issue still has not changed.
Test ride all you want, as long as you are from the UK
I won’t judge you I’m going to bed early. I do the same thing go to bed early. I wake up early.
😂 need all the energy to ride bikes
That's a lot of red bull 😅
All the red bull 🐂
Actually handy as I’m going for the first time tomorrow and solo which I prefer
You'll love it 😁
good vid of the vfestvel you are off thank four the vids have good festvel
Thanks 👍
Great advice. Appreciate it. I'll try and go soon.
You'll love it
Hope to see your craziness there 😅
Oh yes :)
@SaffySprocket will you be on time this year, or should we set our clocks to Sprocket Time 😆
How not to lose a tent at festivals. buy some different coloured glow sticks, choose your colour coding (2 or 3 work best) and tape them to your guide ropes at the front. make sure you have enough for the whole weekend.simple things work the best
Great tip!
Tempted......... ❤️😉
You need to check it out
@@SaffySprocket ja I'm doing it...... 😉💥
1st time and going alone. Hadn't planned to go this year but thanks to winning some tickets from Dave on the motoeuro UA-cam channel I'm very much looking forward to it. Thanks for the tips Saffy.
How did you find it
Excellent thanks Saffy, I did spot you on the Yamaha ride out. Looked like you were having last minute GoPro and glove issues as the rest of the girls rode out lol
(You said) I'm an old lady😅 what are you 25? You're a puppy 😊 great advice 👍
Close!
What do you mean by dvla code?
DVLA check code- Google it :-)
Does anyone know if they have Vegan food there?
I saw one veggie stall but a lot of stalls were selling veggie options, all the coffee vans had oat and soya options too
Going along with the motorcycle touring company I work for (at least on the Friday). Can't wait!
Hope you enjoy it!
Great tips but now I have not enough liquids anxiety :D Hopefully see you there this weekend!
You need moooooar liquids
Are you not going to be there this year.
EDIT: Just seen the end of the video. Hope to see you there.
I am :)
Oh god, I'll be avoiding you
@@SaffySprocketlook forward to seeing you on the trails.
@@SaffySprocket I plan to attend vicariously again - via the vids of others, so I’m hoping for some good content. I hear there’s a lost keys tent this year. 👀🧐😎😜
Peace 🏴
sounds like fun Saffy enjoy 😘
Thank you 😁😁😁
@@SaffySprocket I wish i could make it but I'm saving for IOM in August
Have Fun Saffy 😀
Thank you so much 😊
Do they do route maps? Asking for a friend *cough cough* 👀
Ok
😊
I've been the last three years. Always booked the extra night so i would get there Thursday afternoon. 2021 i went solo and had a great time. Soon as i got home booked for the following year. Five of us went and the organisers had made it even better than the previous year. About 2000 there on night one and about 10,000 overall. Sadly 2023 greed kicked in and they increased the numbers. Around 4000 on night one and about 13,000 overall. Getting a test ride was a joke. The bar was a cluster fck!!! It was that bad i packed up and left Friday afternoon. Massive waist of money. This year i believe there's 15,000 going! That will be a nightmare fir anyone wanting to book rides or even just get a pint... Save your money and book nezt years TT..... Much better event.
Wow sounds like it's going to be huge 😮
How many spare keys are you packing 🤣🤣🤣
Ha, ha, ha, certainly wouldn't be any fun documenting the "who can find my keys" if she had spares. It wouldn't be Saffy if she didn't have a disaster OR two OR three.
There’s a lost keys tent this year. 👀
🤣 Easter egg hunt
What the hell do you mean by a DVLA licence code?
www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence you need your check code before test riding any bikes
11:45 I have a feeling that your experience would differ from...say a single dude. Just say'in.
Nope! I spoke to a lot of people of all different walks of life who all said the same thing :)
I’m the type of guy who 100% prefers to travel alone, never in groups, and never been into laddish nonsense.
But adventure type bikers are generally friendly types. There’s less ego than sports bike riders, and way less clique than HD cruiser sorts.
You might even find someone to help stop misusing apostrophes👀🧐😎😜
@@G58 No one used apostrophes. An ellipsis (three dots) shows passage of time or a dramatic pause, in order for the reader to fill in the thoughts. I was actually pointing out that an attractive female will often find help when a man will not (not that Saffy is attractive). That said any group with a shared activity and an event that brings them together in recreation (read "not working") tends to put everyone in a good mood and acting their best. So yes, people are just more friendly at such events, but even more so with a unique cute blonde girl in the sea of sausage.
@@lhurst9550 Well you DID use an apostrophe, and despite editing your comment, and the errant apostrophe is still there! “say’in”
It obviously belongs where the g was omitted, but maybe a trip to Specsavers will solve the problem 👀🧐😎😜
