    Just wanted to thank you for this video. I have this guitar, same color, with dot inlays and Kahler tremolo. Bought it in 1986 along with a Mesa Boogie 22 caliber (studio). I was seriously thinking about selling it....until I saw your video, reminding me what a great guitar I have. Thank you!!!

      Hey Ray, I'm glad to read this! And yes, sometimes one would want to sell his/her long-time loved stuff like a good old guitar. Some do but then I see comments (on my second CharvelLloydNS channel, for example) like "great guitar, I had one like this, now feel sorry for selling it a while ago". Maybe someone should remind about guitar's awesomeness once in a while. Keep playing your great Charvel! \m/

    Charvel 4 with Kahler is a keeper. Same about Washburn Spitfires

      Hey man, thanks for the good words! Hopefully, there'll be another one (1986 made!) reviewed but on my second channel CharvelLloydNS, welcome.

    Beautiful guitars and amazing playing, hey what do you prefer between j200 /j100 and why?

    • @Robostomp
      @Robostomp  4 роки тому

      Hey, thanks for your opinion! J200 is specific for Charvels/Jacksons with mid boost system, J100 - a regular vintage single coil pickup. Not sure if I'll use the formerfor the "regular" guitars. Though you brought up an interesting point, hmmm....

    I wanted know about mid boost control that bridge humbucker is connected to preamp just same as single coils or just directly done to output.
    Perfectly solved with your nice playing. thanks!!!

    • @Robostomp

      Hi! The bridge humbucker goes to preamp with the single coils. Thank you!!!

    • @옥동스타일
      @옥동스타일 6 років тому

      yeah thanks I made a mid boosting preamp and set on my Charvel replica same wiring as yours! XD but humbucker pickup is damn too high output and it goes dirty when the booster is on, so I have to replace it with low output one someday...

    Great guitar and playing. Do you think the mid boost is all that useful? How would you describe it’s effect on the sound?

    • @Robostomp
      @Robostomp  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you!
      I didn't find this mid boost really useful though I hadn't tried it at any live show. Its effect feels like with boosting these mids you also lose the treble. The demo should be done in a better way, honestly... but this was one of my first guitar "reviews".

      I have a model 4 with the je-1200. Back in the late 80s, early 90s I played VH, ZEP, acdc, deep purple, rush, etc. I RARELY turned the mid boost off when using the humbucker pup. The mid boost seemed to me to overdrive the amp and add warmth. And a side note, those split single coils are excellent. If I recall correctly, I probably rolled back the mid-boost a bit or more, maybe off while using the single coils
