    “Loser”is our generation parent’s statement.
    My dad said that to me when I was 16 and wanted to play R&R. He said it in a hurtful way.
    Only winners work 9-5 in a job that leaves them dead two years after retirement .

    I remember like it was just yesterday playing my First Charvel Jackson in 1981. It was a Star body with a strat head neck.
    It was a religious experience compared to the Fenders,Gibsons, Ibanez's i had been playing up that hat point.
    Most do not Know/understand Wayne Charvel had nothing to do with those guitar's after 1980 that the Charvel shop made.Wayne was long gone and it was Grover as sole owner of the shop and the young guys he hired that created the Magic!

    I saw a GJ2 for sale recently for £299, used. But on the back of the headstock it had "designed by Grover Jackson", so sounded like it was an outsourced build. Were there different lines of GJ2?

    • @HelsinkirocksAGF
      @HelsinkirocksAGF 5 років тому +1

      Yes.
      It's kinda hard to differentiate, but there was the GJ2 "Inspiration" series, which were outsourced (don't remember where).
      I know one of the biggest giveaways to an import model is the headstock veneer. My USA Concorde 5 Star SE has a rosewood or possible ebony veneer inlaid on it. None of the imports have that, but I can't confirm if all the USA ones have that either.
      I know mine is signed by Grover.

      GJ2 guitars are made in USA and Indonesia. Latter being cheaper.
      If it states "designed by GJ in USA" , its made in Indonesia.
      Otherwise it says clearly "made in USA".

    Hi Grover! Believe it or not I have An SL-1 (love it!!) I'm haveing trouble checking the Serial # on it, from what I can tell it may have been made in San Dimas or maybe Ontario, do you possibly have a Manufacturing order on it? it's a keeper for me, handing down to my grandson It's a bolt on neck sn#9871645 . I would love to find it as one of your originals. Thanks Tom
