Applying the wax with a sponge is so messy. I use a paint brush!! Clean, no spill of wax and excellent result!!

What’s the difference between the Beaufort and the Ashby?

The main differences are: Beaufort is longer, with a large back pocket and adjustable cuffs, Ashby is a more modern and slimmer version of Bedale, shorter and with sweater cuffs.

For the re-waxing they sell only Thornproof.

Do not forget to put a plastic sheet underneath the jacket - or you will be scrubbing the surface later on...

I have over waxed my jacket where some parts do not dry out. Is there anything I can do to repair this. I have tried a hair dryer but this does not work only on some parts of the jacket. Is it a case of letting it wear off naturally.

Put a paper towel over top the over saturated areas and hit them with a hair dryer. The extra wax will be pulled up by the more porous paper towel.

@@Heywoodthepeckerwood Good idea thanks. I will try that. It was my first time re-waxing the jacket so had no idea about over load of wax and how to remove it. Again thanks. I did check on the internet and all it said was run a hair drier over the jacket. Nothing about excess wax and how to remove it.

It was actually enough. I had some left despite the fact that I was pretty generous. So I guess that the quantity should be enough for two rewaxes.
