Very true. I wonder what happened to Beyonce's perfume line? Didn't she have several different perfumes? I think I actually saw them at Macy's but this was years ago.
Yeah that's true. Many singers we're trying to increase thier brand and image by doing movies, music AND FASHION lol. “In my Dereon jeans”😂
This Is so fascinating I did realise the fashion line was Inspired by Beyoncé’s grandmother
Doesnt matter it was inspired by Harriet Tubman. The clothes were ugly as hell.
Dereon became Tacky and outdated
Its not its still good if you look at the class and designs from that decade and can be worn now
My sister was very curvy and when we went to the US in 2008 she tried her first dereon jeans and LOVED them ! The cuts were really flattering.
Mind you this was when people were not praising curves and she had issues finding cool and well cut jeans for curvy women in Paris (we’re French and went to the US for vacations)
Some dresses for the late House of Dereon collection were GORGEUS. I LOOOVE the Sweet Dreams silver dress, it actually looks kinda haute couture lol
True. I still love that dress in 2021. ♥️
The Dereon designs were horrible even for the early 2000's....
Sooooooo true! Didn’t like them then and most definitely wouldn’t like them now.
I agree, it was Tina’s dream and she figured as long as it was backed by Beyoncé even if it was crap it would sell.
Along with everything Tina designed for DC.
I wonder what Tyra REALLY thought...
So true.
Can you do a “what happened to Ryan Leslie” video
I think diddy had him blacklisted.
Go to real reality gossip channel
I believe they covered him and they have other great videos
Ryan Leslie is Independent artist so he owns his own songs. But he still makes music. I think he's still a producer. He talked about all of that stuff on the Breakfast Club..!!
Ryan Leslie getting to the bag he’s independent and owns super phone
Also, back then, a pop star had to have there names in everything- music, movies, fashion, perfume, books etc. so a lot of pop stars would put of pretty mediocre products that they werent really involved in that just fizzled out in a few years later. Also, the fashions of HoD, even for the times, were....yikes...
Very true. I wonder what happened to Beyonce's perfume line? Didn't she have several different perfumes? I think I actually saw them at Macy's but this was years ago.
It was fashion in the early 2000's, then they all moved onto perfumes, and now they've all moved on to make up/skincare.
Yeah that's true. Many singers we're trying to increase thier brand and image by doing movies, music AND FASHION lol.
The first person that comes to mind is Aaliyah - whom was already acting by the new millennium and gained recognition for her simplistic yet timeless style. Every young girl was dressing like her then!
In a way Rihanna's doing a similar thing now. HOD brand just lacks flair and isn't easily recognisable in my opinion. Plus it looks kinda frumpy on the people that wore it including Beyonce.
Shut up
Entrepreneurs pay attention, don’t give up, everything is a learning experience!
-The clothes were a mess! They in Burlington coat factory now
The f-cking childrens line for dereon 🤣😭
Yeah I didn't know they had come out with a line for little girls. I was also looking at it like "who would dress their little girl like this 🤔......" Lol.
@@courtneypalmer53 that's nothing in comparison to what I see these kids on IG.
The lil girl in the high heel boots 😭😭😭
@@Monique__91 at the piano?! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 i cannot
@@courtneypalmer53 me too 😂😂
Ms. Tina's brand floods the thrift stores in my area. The material is so thin and cheap looking. I'm actually surprised, not what I expected 🤔
Lmao
Same in Oklahoma.
😂💀💀
@Anne Day most people clean out their closet late and get rude off stuff I just sent some apple bottom jeans and rocks wears jeans to goodwill 3 years ago 😂😂
I did find a pair of Dereon jeans at a thrift store.
Those cloths were horrible in 2005 and there still horrible in 2021😂
This the comment I was looking for 🤣🤣🤣💯
exactly👌🏽
The people who loved the jeans say otherwise
Hell ivy park trash too.
@@ItsMrstoyouboo yet still selling out
She should relaunch. Along with Apple bottoms, coogi, baby phat, etc. They’d have the Depop y2k girlies wigs sitting on their shoulders 😭😭😭
These kids don’t know about these designers! Lol they probably wouldn’t buy it
@Asia Gandy but the stuff is nothing like what they used to sell. That’s what I’m referring to.
@@Ashhwitcash true 😭
I do remember Coogi having urban wear but I don't even see their line anymore, more so the sweaters.
Coogie and baby host still have sites
I miss my purple Dereon jacket and jeans!! They were the only ones that fit me right in my teens.
I always thought the line ws too flashy and pricey for me. Didn’t fit my style or pocket book back thn👋🏽
Right
I can’t lie I always thought the fashions looked a bit tacky. This new line that she has now looks much better
She should find a way to break away from Adidas and sell Ivy Park independently. I think she's found a niche that the ppl believe in and she's the queen of innovative marketing so I'd say its time for her to make an expansion on her Ivy Park label...
But is Ivy Park selling? I want to know. Because at the moment it just looks like good marketing. Not really seen people rocking the line like that...
@@LisaF777 I only see really rich people wearing IVY park its not relatable
@@LisaF777 facts! That’s why that comment at the end of video saying Ivy Park going to surpass Yeezy seems like a reach. The Yeezy boosts shoes alone are apart of the culture now.
Never had any Dereon or any of the urban brands of that time. My parents wouldn't buy any of it.
Let's just say it, beyonce is talented but she's not known for style or a style icon. Ppl buy things bc they like her thats it.
When you think celebrity fashion or taste/Innovation you think Rihanna, lil kim (old kim), aaliyah, kim k, missy Elliott.
Fashion.. now that's much more of Solange's lane, i would love a line from Solange, her esthetic is everything. Just bc your famous doesn't mean you are awesome in every lane including fashion. The clothes were ugly and gawdy to me as a teenager. I always gravitated to baby phat or apple bottom. That being said ivy park clothes are equally as cheesy and not practical. I'll listen to her sing but I won't take fashion from beyonce lol. But shout out to her for living her dream.
Agreed👏👏👏
They are buying Ivy Park for the same reason. This line is not practical as well and people are buying this overpriced athletic wear
Wrong........beyonce is known for winning fashion and model awards she even has done commericals for companies like LOREAL do your research...................
@@Dereon4 Nothing you said has anything to do with the point of the OP. Why don't you actually read first before just commenting. Everything that was said is all true. What does her having a L'Oreal commercial have to do with the House of Dereon? Nothing.
Facts!!!!!
Her BDay era is unmatched don’t get me started on her deja vu outfits 😩
Her best looking era to date. The hair, the fashions, and the music were on point.
I love Beyoncé’s hustle and work ethic. Neither Dereon, L’Oréal, nor Hilfiger were a fit, but she kept at it. The Adidas collaboration is a hit, and she’s one of the biggest modern stars. It’s inspiring. Keep at it!
When I was in middle school, my mother purchased me the Dereon winter jacket (it was waist length brown) On the back, the words Dereon was written in gold & the fur on the hood is removable; I still have this jacket 'till this day. 😅
😂 that reminds me of a baby phat jacket that I’ve seen before.
I just got rid of mine... I’m 35 lol
Omg! I had one as well, thought I was hot ‘ish!

Cool video I like video where people talk about different types of black celebrities
5 yrs old in heels isn't sexualizing them if they are modeling . I was 5 playing in heels . But THONGS for kids are disgusting!! They over reached with that comparison !
When I was little, I used to try on my mother’s clothing and heels, but I wasn’t up there wearing her panties or generally wearing g strings. People were trippin’
I was just talking about this to my friend. I don't get waisting my money on a name brand. Show Me how to make my money grow.
I hear you but when you get get a brand name item, its about quality, then it's an investment...being from NYC,The Garment District,I bought some of that on the cheap and some I didn't...I've bought expensive brand name and some lesser known (amongst us) items out of the quality, like sweaters,1 or 3 tshirts, dresses, handbags, winter boots, dress suits and maybe sneakers to workout in for support...everything else,I had no problem getting from Pretty Girl...all the quality stuff I've bought through the years lasted me over 10,15 years. Its a matter of getting items that aren't trendy, well made, made with good materials and can be worn years after year....House of Dereon was not that type of brand.....
It was ugly and no one bought the clothes.
Exactly
🤣🤣Say it again,sis.
If they were considered ugly back in ‘06 then that says alot cuz girl 2006 was a questionable year in fashion lol
@@bassya2490 and people bought them and loved the jeans cuz that was the style back then.

That intro always gets me started to watch a great video. I wish you would make a video on Livin' Single or Half & Half or The Game.
Don’t come for me, but I don’t see the hype with Ivy Park. Some of the pieces are dope..but a lot of them are a lil cheesy 😅
I thought was just me ivy park ugly stuff
You not alone

I still have a Derion winter coat and snow pants set I brought for my daughter back in 2009 when she was 2 years old in my closet. I even had a coat and pants but since donated it to Goodwill.
“House of Dereon” should’ve been called “House of HELL NO”! Them fashions were tired and late honey. 🤧🤧🤧
House of dereon was the early 2000’s...we’re in 2021... of course it’s going to be late NOW 😁😁 2 decades have passed

Nobody wore House of Dereon. You got clowned for wearing that back in the day. The fashions was terrible.
Good question..& a better question is if y’all love Beyoncé so much why weren’t y’all buying/wearing HOD? It literally used to just sit there in Macy’s ☕️☕️
Because her designs, items, apparel are not that good, it gets hype from her for a while and then dies down when ppl realize they wouldn’t wear them
I was a small child 😐
I was a big fan of her music at the time but I thought the clothes were ugly. I was a lowkey dresser even in high school and found it too loud.

You do such amazing non-biased research! I always learn something new. Here in Houston there is a building they own named House of Dereon Media Center. I guess that name will always live on despite this flop.
I remember having at least two Dereon bags......they were cute
The multi-colored lace-back dress at 8:50 looks so nice. 😍Too bad I was a kid at the time and never heard of the brand back then. 😕

I loved how Tina styled Beyonce but even as a teen I always thought House of Dereon was BEHIND a year in fashion. I wouldn't even consider myself a fashionista and even I didn't want to be caught dead wearing some of their peices. It just always seemed Corny. I can't explain it. I wanted to like it so bad because I was a huge beyonce fan but that just wasn't enough, chile..
I never knew anyone who owned any of there clothing.
I really think Tina and B knew they would sell it before it stopped selling in stores and made a profit. Many labels do that. They had the clothes made overseas and jacked up the price, made a huge profit, then sell it off to discount stores.
When you showed Beyoncé’s grand parents, I forgot just how mixed Beyoncé is. Hm.
She looks so much like her maternal grandfather
They’re creole
Girl, let’s not even start that. Beyoncé isn’t mixed. She is black.
