I built my first PC a bit over a year ago and the experience caused me so much stress. The pit in my stomach after it failed to boot shaved at least five years off of my life. I still have ptsd whenever I have the slightest issue with my hardware, always terrified I'll have to drop hundreds of dollars to repair my $1000+ system. But I also get 15 more fps than my ps5 so that's nice 😎

Since Ubisoft turned off online support for older AC games which literally deleted paid DLC content from my library, I am going to go for physical copies of games again. Which is only console these days. Everything we buy on Steam is just timed access.

Yeah that’s not the same at all. Comparing bikes to consoles is very dumb because most people basically never use bikes to actually go places. Consoles are on 60 fps 99% of the time now and most people don’t know this but 60 fps is the highest fps the human eye can see.

We have to wait until it's available through an emulator (which is free/easy) or until it eventually gets ported to PC by the publishers. But other than that we get access to 100% games. For Free.

@@Athalant8320 Sure 1440p 144Hz gaming is expensive, but you don't have to. I myself am playing on 1080p 60fps on a pc you could build today for around 600€. Considering most people need a Pc anyway, you'll end up cheaper. Pc gaming is probably the most affordable it has ever been, when you're willing to buy used components.

I don't have to hunch over, I have a great chair that supports my back for my I.T. stuff and an adjustable desk as well. When I want to watch something or game huge with my PS5 and PC games I use my 65" C2 on the side in my game room where I can relax on my couch or I can switch to my 42" C2 that I use as a desk monitor. I have over a thousand games on Steam and other launchers as well. I love to upgrade and build new stuff, I usually give my old PC's to my nephew or someone that needs one. You use what makes you happy and that's great for you. In the end, we just love gaming. Anyways cheers.

Back then when I was on a budget all I had was a PS2 and then a PS3 and a small 24 inch CRT tv. Now that I can afford the things that I want, I don't have a problem spending money on them. I do understand that you don't need to spend a lot of money to enjoy games. I just do it because I can. Also, at the same time, I enjoy giving pc parts and PCs away and helping people build their rigs. Nothing is lost and wasted brother, at least to me. Anyways, peace out man.

But, after persistently learning and developing skills, you got better and better. Every hobby can be a time sink like that. It requires constant learning and practice. You aren't the average PC user. The average PC user doesn't have the patience, passion or discipline to perform at that level. PC gaming is not an easy-going, hands off experience. You have to manage it from multiple levels, which is a huge disadvantage to the average, casual user.

Exactly. I don't see fiddling with settings as a negative. You can totally just start up a PC game and just play at the reccomended settings if you wanted to and still have a good experience. Everyone who does adjust their settings are always by choice.

Cyberpunk flatlined for example or not being avle to start RDR2 because it's apparently already loading, which it isn't. there is no going back it's just better. Yes you need to do some more manipulations to enjoy your gaming experience but once you've done it it's the most enjoyable gaming experience and just being able to multitask is so nice (i'm not even talking about how much more games we have)

I personally still keep my old systems like ps3 and my N64 right next to my pc in case I want to play masterpieces like Majoras Mask, God of War 3, Demons Souls, Littlebigplamet, etc. If the games are good enough, I don't care one bit about resolution or graphics settings.

It's funny how some games auto optimize themselves according to your hardware but that somehow makes them run even worse and you have to tweak the settings anyway.
@@mick.c True. Plus Nvidia has DLSS 3.5 and AMD has AMD Fluid Motion Frames. I only have experience with the new AFMF (AMD) and it literally doubles the fps of whatever you're getting with no quality loss. And if that doesn't satisfy me, I just turn on FSR 2.x on Quality for another 20fps (or technically 40fps with AFMF) with very little quality loss at 1440p Ultra settings @ 144hz. The BEST console has PC parts in it... just older ones. I have a 5900x/2x16GB DDR4 3600 dual rank/6700XT 12GB. By no means the latest or greatest. The best console has a 3700x/24? GB RAM that is shared with the GPU (a 6700/6700XT hybrid on an APU with the 3700x). They THINK they're playing 4K. No. They're playing in 1080p or maybe 1200p or something with UPSCALING to 4K and locked to 30fps. That'd feel so bad with a mouse. And what do console gamers think their Operating System is? On Xbox, it's just a customized version of Windows. Look it up.
I thought it was like that, until I bought a PS4. News flash: updates and crashes are a thing on consoles too. And lack of options was actually pretty disappointing.
Sorry if I am a big ass nerd but that is windows 11 bsod. He was clearly on windows 10 just by looking at the uwp box. Windows 11 has that curvy feature. Also bsod tends to freeze the computer, not making that scrolling effect. The bsod must have froze the game for 2 seconds and that navy blue screen must appear which leads to bsod. As a strange PC player, I want to say that I am one of the few who pays more attention to comfort than power. With 1440p 60fps at high graphics and without Ray Tracing I am satisfied, my $1100 PC is powerful enough for 4k 120fps without many problems but I am not going to configure it for 20 minutes

That's because it's all you can get. On pc we can go above 300fps on games if we so desire so we won't accept if a developer is lazy and does not optimize a game properly. The standard should be 60fps.

Upscalers should be for older hardware to keep up, while modern hardware can run smoothly natively. a smooth 60 fps on the highest settings is nice, my personal preference is medium settings at stable 120 for most of my competitive games cause I don’t take then too serious to make them ugly for an advantage but want them smooth still

The PC has infinite possibilities and a large part of the comments about the console is that the PC has no advantage over the console, what's the point of that? PC doesn't just open games, you know?
The fact is that not everyone has the money to build a powerful gaming PC and there are still people who don't even know where to start and just want to have fun with beautiful graphics on a big screen, as happens with those who build a PC for the purpose of working, studying and having fun you have access to an infinite range of possibilities, it depends on your purpose, money and desire, it's that simple!

PC master race warriors will claim your $500 rig is garbage. Also, a $500 gaming PC purchased in the same year as a game console release will NOT be as good. PC gamers would have to wait for improvements in hardware and drops in cost to close the gap.
As a PCMR guy, I am proud to have the liberty of choosing at what settings I want to play a game. If I want maxed out 8k 5fps, I will play like that, if I want to play lower than it was meant to be played, with 800x600 (or even lower if the game supports or if it has 3d res slider or FSR) with 100+ FPS, I will play that way. No matter what, we will always have the option to choose how to play a game. There is no platform that can match the superiority of PC.

yeah like how lazy can someone be to just do some optimization for more better experience , i run RDR 2 on Low 720p resolution with 50fps , meanwhile with default i was getting 32-36fps , i could be lazy and let it be default setting , all it took is hardly 3min
aim assist sucks anyway, more often than not it screws over your aim. e.g when your aiming at someone and another enemy runs past your crosshair as you are about to shoot. don't have that problem on a mouse. I would actually turn aim assist off on some games when I used to play on ps4 because this annoyed the hell out of me

I don't have to hunch over, I have a great chair that supports my back for my I.T. stuff and an adjustable desk as well. When I want to watch something or game huge with my PS5 and PC games I use my 65" C2 on the side in my game room where I can relax on my couch or I can switch to my 42" C2 that I use as a desk monitor. I have over a thousand games on Steam and other launchers as well. I love to upgrade and build new stuff, I usually give my old PC's to my nephew or someone that needs one. You use what makes you happy and that's great for you. In the end, we just love gaming. Anyways cheers.

Cyberpunk flatlined for example or not being avle to start RDR2 because it's apparently already loading, which it isn't. there is no going back it's just better. Yes you need to do some more manipulations to enjoy your gaming experience but once you've done it it's the most enjoyable gaming experience and just being able to multitask is so nice (i'm not even talking about how much more games we have)

@@mick.c True. Plus Nvidia has DLSS 3.5 and AMD has AMD Fluid Motion Frames. I only have experience with the new AFMF (AMD) and it literally doubles the fps of whatever you're getting with no quality loss.
And if that doesn't satisfy me, I just turn on FSR 2.x on Quality for another 20fps (or technically 40fps with AFMF) with very little quality loss at 1440p Ultra settings @ 144hz.

I have a 5900x/2x16GB DDR4 3600 dual rank/6700XT 12GB. By no means the latest or greatest.
The best console has a 3700x/24? GB RAM that is shared with the GPU (a 6700/6700XT hybrid on an APU with the 3700x).
They THINK they're playing 4K. No. They're playing in 1080p or maybe 1200p or something with UPSCALING to 4K and locked to 30fps. That'd feel so bad with a mouse.
And what do console gamers think their Operating System is? On Xbox, it's just a customized version of Windows. Look it up.

Sorry if I am a big ass nerd but that is windows 11 bsod. He was clearly on windows 10 just by looking at the uwp box. Windows 11 has that curvy feature. Also bsod tends to freeze the computer, not making that scrolling effect. The bsod must have froze the game for 2 seconds and that navy blue screen must appear which leads to bsod.

That's because it's all you can get. On pc we can go above 300fps on games if we so desire so we won't accept if a developer is lazy and does not optimize a game properly. The standard should be 60fps.

Upscalers should be for older hardware to keep up, while modern hardware can run smoothly natively. a smooth 60 fps on the highest settings is nice, my personal preference is medium settings at stable 120 for most of my competitive games cause I don’t take then too serious to make them ugly for an advantage but want them smooth still

I didn't see anyone talking about this, but the real difference between console and PC's is that the PC, in addition to playing, can literally do everything, from projects, work, programming, rendering.

idk about xbox, but on playstation you can plug in a keyboard. I used to use my keyboard to type in ffxiv on ps4 before I switched to PC

PC master race warriors will claim your $500 rig is garbage. Also, a $500 gaming PC purchased in the same year as a game console release will NOT be as good. PC gamers would have to wait for improvements in hardware and drops in cost to close the gap.

As a PCMR guy, I am proud to have the liberty of choosing at what settings I want to play a game. If I want maxed out 8k 5fps, I will play like that, if I want to play lower than it was meant to be played, with 800x600 (or even lower if the game supports or if it has 3d res slider or FSR) with 100+ FPS, I will play that way. No matter what, we will always have the option to choose how to play a game. There is no platform that can match the superiority of PC.

In fact, I've owned Skyrim on PC since 2011 and I'm still in the modding process and actually want to play this game one day.
yeah like how lazy can someone be to just do some optimization for more better experience , i run RDR 2 on Low 720p resolution with 50fps , meanwhile with default i was getting 32-36fps , i could be lazy and let it be default setting , all it took is hardly 3min

aim assist sucks anyway, more often than not it screws over your aim. e.g when your aiming at someone and another enemy runs past your crosshair as you are about to shoot. don't have that problem on a mouse. I would actually turn aim assist off on some games when I used to play on ps4 because this annoyed the hell out of me
