This is absolutely fantastic to see. Thank you so much for making this! I've been tinkering with SS2 since it launched, but I play exclusively on Survival mode. I've often wondered about why the towns wouldn't grow or random things like generators in other settlements were always broken even if never attacked. I will certainly be looking into this Automated mode so that I can enjoy this feature as much as I've been enjoying the storyline itself. Thank you and your team for all the hard work that you've done with this project and for the community.
Yeah same. I play this on Xbox OneX and love it. Having an automated mode makes me salivate lol

I couldn't play fallout 4 for a few years because of pc issues but I recently started playing again so i got SS2 and I wasn't disappointed. Looking forward to your future projects.

I used SS2 in automated mode a few times in the past. Mainly when I wanted a playthrough without having to build every shack, bed, and chair. Being able to use plots for my main settlement, and building plans for others, saved a lot of micro management.

Hands down my favorite addition to Fallout 4. Just when I thought the game was starting to get a bit stale I learn about SS. Now I'm hooked allll over again and having a blast :) HUGE thanks to everyone who worked on this!

Wow, somehow I never knew SS2 had profiles. I play almost exclusively on Survival and I always wondered why it was so tough to keep my settlements running. Honestly I was underestimaging the complexity and configurability of the mod, still treating it like SS1 as you said and just using it to build cool stuff. So im thankful you made this series to demonstrare this, Automated mode (with maybe a few tweaks) seems very much up my alley.
I've been playing with this mod since it launched and I only just now realized I've never once opened the holotape. I always play on survival and never realized why I was having so much trouble getting even a single settlement built up before diseases started ravaging everyone and plots wouldn't even build due to limited supplies (I know I can just cheat in scrap with the console but I like playing as realistically as possible). Gonna give easy mode a shot and if that ends up being way too simple then I might switch to the city simulator difficulty.
Recently downloaded this mod and gotta say I am forever grateful I did, I was a "no mod" player till I heard about this, this is how settlements should've been or atleast to some extent, but all around great mod
A bit late to this party, but this is perfect for me. I'm not the best at PC gaming (I'm a *seasoned* citizen) and so I usually play Skryim, FO3/FNV/FO4 and now Starfield on easy mode. I get flustered a bit in combat and fumble the controls; the old digit joints aren't as nimble as they used to be. I played SS1 a LOT once I figured out I could automate settlement building, and I spent a lot of time figuring out how too much complexity would crash my gaming rig (Triangle of Death, etc.).
Anyway I'm excited to be delving into SS2 finally, and just wanted to say a big THANKS!
Expect an influx of Starfield refuges looking for some old Bethesda feeling in Fallout 4 and somehow stumble upon this!

I love this mod with borderlands guns and it is funny as hell
I wish the BL Guns mod was updated to add more guns. I want to see some BL2 or 3 guns.
That being said, the mod is extremely fun. Even if some of the weapons are a bit weak imo

Do you have to reassign settlers to new recreation plots after they max stats on one or do they do that on their own in automated mode?
"random Todd things" I just about died laughing. Have been meaning to do a new playthrough to give SS a go for ages, maybe this will give me a push XD
so the SS2 difficulty adjusts with the Game Option Difficulty? if i change the Game from Normal to Easy anytime mid playthrough, does SS2 also adjust?
Is it possible to use this mod to decorate buildings that I have built myself?
I had no idea SS2 had story attached to it! I thought it was just another building mod only! I have been interested in SS in FO4 but was too scared to try it! I thought that it would be super hard & complicated! I like this vid & it does make me want to give it a go! Should I use SS & SS2 or just one of them? Do both have story attached to them? Great video, keep up the great work!
SS2 is like a reboot of SS1 but with a story introducing the concepts and giving it all a purpose - so you just use SS2. There's also the Chapter 2 expansion available to the story!

It literally says listen to Jake's Private Frequency on Steam PC. I go ALL over the Commonwealth even IN the shop in Concord, Red Rocket north of Concord, Abernathy Farm, Sanctuary, Sunshine Tidings, The Hospital from the Drug Siblings quest, and so many more just walking around. It literally doesn't TRIGGER? Why? It just stays grey no matter where I am?
I got the holotape from pickup point because the nPC is just not spawning for me. Listening to it and it runs the install and says click "ok" and when I do it just run the install again.

Same here it crashes on me when I am in the Boston city near diamond city. I don't know why so I am goin to back to sim settlement 1 I guess. I wanna play 2 so bad but once it gets a few missions in and I have to go to the city it crashes
So I recently got back in to FA4 and downloaded SS1 and 2 as well as all the requirements, through the mod store but Ss2 says it's missing files
same here, impossible to install Sim Settlement 2 ( Xbox SS )
It says "mod cannot be installed sknce it depends onfiles that aren't available"
I want to play SS2 but the file size is very big. I can't afford another SSD atm. Also I heard there is no conqueror mechanics like prebuilding all the settlements which I like about SS1.
I noticed in MCM he had, Sim Settlements, Sim Settlements: Conqueror, and Sin Settlements 2. Do they not conflict with each other? Or do you need to install all of them?
I just have all the MCM files in my directory - you can't actually run them together.
Hi, this is my first try with f4 mods, i have steam ver and where i can find some instruction for noob =D how to instal this?
Something I was always curious about is if it's at all possible to have plots "disable" shrubs and grass under them like it happens in Fallout 76 during Camp building. It's really immersion-breaking when you walk into a house and most of it is occupied with tall grass sticking through floor. I'd imagine it is at least possible on some level, since Bethesda figured it out in Fallout 76.
This is why i play mods that reduce grass
@@benjordansslave8002 I don't like the fact that you have to essentially trim entire world just so it doesn't poke through a few floors. And in some settlements even reduced amount of grass still leaves a lot of it around. Game looks so much better with *more* grass tho, so I'd rather buildings would just disable it when you place them on top.
I use the "scrap everything" mod to get rid of trash and shrubs. Haven't had any issues with SS2 either
When i try to set up the plan it just gives me the basic version by strong swanson but ive seen in some of your vids theres a different layout, how do i get that?

@@kinggath yeah I did download that but the plans don’t show up, do they need to be unlocked?
@@tyevans3088 If you activate the blueprint on the City Planner's Desk, there should be a Replace Plan option you can select and then cycle through the options.
@@kinggath yeah it doesn't cycle through it just shows one, if i press previous or next its only the strongswanson basic. I got so sick of waiting for the plans i force completed a bunch of the quests, now where im at in the playthrough doesn't match with ss2. i did the reset plan cache cheat and all the unlock cheats, nothing. deleted all mods that mightve conflicted, still nothing. I really like the game but Im horrible at settlement building so I just wanted a bunch of plans to make them look cool and not empty but at this point i give up
I just recreated my third longest played character from way back when. During that playthrough Transfer Settlements came out, then a week later Sim Settlements. I remember that character more than any of them because of all the stuff that was going on, including SS in Dustbowl (0.3). 6,500 hours in the game and I was having a hard time returning to F4. I can only imagine how many hours you have.
TS coming out right before I released SS was wild - I remember immediately messaging the creator to collaborate!
@@kinggath I also remember having to wait damn near 4 or even 5 minutes for the game to load my saves because I was at the mod limit. Then it took a minute or two to manage some of the various mods like Gasmask because they had no way to save settings. Oh, the heady days of yore.
Can you leave all the complex stuff on and have it simulate that? Like a real city simulation ?
Just installed this. I am hoping it will be good in VR. Vanilla Settlement building in VR is an absolute nightmare ( takes me up to 10 minutes to place a wall, it's so imprecise) So I am hoping that all organically grown settlements will provide me with an alternative. I found out that there were unmet dependencies - Workshop Framework. Then I found a version that works with Fallout 4 vr but now I just get a crash to desktop on exiting the vault in a new game.
Sadly I cannot get it to work. I don't receive the comic to start it off in my current game and after installing the mod, character creation is messed up in VR.

You mentioned that there is a way to turn off vanilla settlement attacks completely using SS2, or one of the workshop framework/workshop plus configs. Did you address that in the video? I can't stand the vanilla system and I'd rather not add a mod like no settlement attacks IF I can handle it using the basic SS2 setup. Thanks!

Apparently Project Zeta's Mars is incompatible with the logistics. thats annoying, But not unexpected.. other than that, Im having alot of fun with this.
Are the minutemen gonna play a larger role in the new sim settlements chapter? Or are yall just gonna stick to the "Ex Minutemen" since not everyone has the minutemen set up in their playthroughs?

Kinggath y is it that when I play thison xb1 it crashes when I am In the city near diamond city. I guess boston area. It happens 100% of the time
Game is hella broken with mods in that area, even lower end PC run into issues in that area with tons of mods.

Even after playing and enjoying your mod for over a year, I always play on survival. So today was the first time i heard it was on Hardcore by default.
Made me realize ive never actually played your mod on normal. Thats a tragedy. Hell i have no idea what your base idea of the mod even is. I should remedy that asap

They allow you to change the characters backstory so that you're NOT from the vault... To start the main quest line you go to the vault And find the actual sole survivor who didn't even make it past the radroaches And Find THERE kidnapped son named Shawn.

Still no Jake and CITY PLANS DON'T LOAD OR ASSIGN LEADERS TO SETTLEMENTS? LIKE WHAT HAPPENED? Steam PC. There was bearly an issue when this 1st launched. Now it almost doest even work in chapter 1 at all? Why?
The guy never spawns for me
Steam PC Player: Cannot start "NEW PLOTS ON THE BLOCK". Cannot pickup Jake's Private Frequency still for over 2 weeks in real life! Why? It's even on easy? Plus Cannot assign most mayors as mayors. They just unassign themselves? Why? Plus NONE of the city plans build meaning electronics will be more difficult. Plus no buildings after jerry rigged defense plots...which most of the time unassign the settler assigned. Assignment also happens all farm plots too. Why? This used to be an amazing mod! What happened?
No you can't just build and do story...super painful getting defensive plots, and stores, and the like. It was way better 2 years ago before HQ. Please help?
