congrats on your upgrade! I have a 1080ti that I've been using for nearly 5 years now. I just got a 4090 the other night (first part of the new rig upgrade). I couldn't justify spending 900 on a used 3090/ti or 1400 after tax for a 4080. It will be a while before I can use it, so happy for you!
@@MrDarkcore thank you! Yea it is huuuuuge. I figured if I am being cornered by high prices as a consumer I may as well bite the bullet and be good for several years to come. Keep up the channel you’re doing great
GREAT Unboxing & Setup ! My wife gifted me last week a 3090 as a Christmas Gift since my old RTX 2080 was overheating and having weird glitches even after I changed the thermals !
Nice! If my wife gifted me a gpu she probably would of got it off wish. 😂 Also, if you keep having glitches it could be the motherboard. Just a thought.
Important question.... I had a hard time getting my 3060 ti to fit in my desktop. So I had to remove the thin metal sheets that lay between the rear of the card and rear of the desktop frame. My question is, was it okay to remove them, because it was getting in the way of installing my card. I spent so much money into this much time and getting the card to fit, I just want to make sure I'm not risking messing anything up.
@@MrDarkcore oh no lol. It's a very thin metal sheet that's on the PC tower itself on the rear where the expansion slots are. Not the metal cover. A thinner shiny metal sheet thats on the inside of the expansion slots. They have these small metal hooks that kept getting in the way of putting my GPU in, so I removed the thin metal sheets from the expansion slots area.
I purchased a XPS 8940 directly from Dell in '21. It came with the Nvidia RTX 3060 TI. Recently my pc has been freezing up and I must shut down to get out of it. Someone said that my video card may be bad. Is there an easy way to tell. I'm not very tech savvy, but can do some stuff. Do you care to comment? Thanks. Good video. Clear and to the point.
@@MrDarkcore So there is a little bit more to the story. Originally, while I was having the freeze up issues, I also could no longer play my Snowrunner game because the steering wheel would no longer respond. I spent several hours with a Logitech rep online and he finally said he would have to refer it to his higher support team. A few days later I received an email with a list of seven things to check. I did the first 4 of 7 and my game now works and I no longer have the freeze up issue. Because I didn't check the status after I did each one, I'm not sure which one made the difference or whether they all did. Here's what they recommended... 1). download and reinstall the redistributables for x64 and x86 of the computer (they provided a link). 2). update windows to ensure that all the latest windows updates are installed (said everything was already up to date). 3). download and install the latest .NET Framework for your windows installation. 4). update/install USB and chipset drivers (while I was in device manager/system devices I found a Logitech file that I should have deleted when I was working with the online tech but didn't, so I uninstalled it? It's been three months and no freeze up issues. Hopefully there is something you can take from this and share with others.

The impulse buying thanks to Scalpers, here I thought I was the only clown sitting on this GPU...bought this in last Dec.

Did you have to uninstall the drivers from the old GPU before you made the switch?
No, I think that only applies if you switching from AMD to Nvidia or vice versa. I could be wrong though.

@@kjmullinz is it a older style case? I would think its ok to remove as long as it doesn’t compromise the integrity of the case.
