As someone who lives in Tokyo part time, eating outside isn’t really a big deal, walking and eating is more gray. If you go between Shibuya and Harajuku again, you might try walking as there’s Miyashita Park and a lot of stores on Cat Street and the main street as well.
I googled why u can't eat in public & it came back saying that litter had become such an issue that Japan (in certain places) banned eating outside to prevent trash on the ground. Very interesting
OBSESSEDDDD WITH THIS JAPAN vlog elliot! :) MY FAV type of vlogs, its soooo calming and refreshing to watch. SOOO hapy you got to go and SOOO ready for more japan vlogs:)
wow watching this vid makes me miss the time i traveled solo to tokyo! the famichiki, public transportation, and clothing were definitely some of my fav parts of japan
Never seen your vids but loved this vlog was definitely something I’d been looking forward to lol I’m going Japan soon myself so it’s making me more excited
I just got back from my 2nd trip to Japan last week (3 weeks). I'm glad you are enjoying Japan! Japan is definitely one of the best places for solo travelers.
When you put that camo coat on, i was like yeah he’s going to get that one too lol. 😂 you can eat on the streets in Japan, you just can’t eat while walking except for certain foods like it i think ice cream on a cone. when we were there, we ate on the streets and stood still lol. Love this video. Can’t wait to see more. I miss Japan.
Haha actually walking/drinking while eating is frowned upon because you might bump into someone and spill, but you can generally stand outside Family Mart etc and eat on the spot 😁
lol the anxiety I felt watching you try to eat out in public was insane LMAO but ngl had to do the same thing when I was there cuz I was sooo hungry :(
love this chill vlog! living in japan, im so tired of japan content but this was nice:) social media has totally made all these insane 'rules' but the main point is that you're not making a mess in public! it doesnt make sense to be selling hot chicken at convenience stores and you cant eat inside, you cant eat while walking, cant eat in the train, then what- are you suppsoed to bring it home and eat it cold? no ;-;
That store with the Miata is Liberty Walk, and that’s the owners car if I remember correctly. They recently launched a clothing line, and stores, but they’re known for making body kits.
For you to go to Mega Don Quijote and get JUST THAT SINGLE FROG is amazing. I can never go out there without carrying a whole full plastic of things I don't need
that's hella weird, its just food nothing serious, japan needs to be inclusive to other cultures eating etiquettes specially when us tourists contribute to their economy highly if its not for us japan is still in the gutters after the US deleting their cities lol
@@muazunais2378 it's not weird, it's just how they discipline themselves, you also need to carry your trash back to your house and throw it there, very rare you would see bins around
@@muazunais2378 Doesn’t matter if you think it’s weird or not, every country has their etiquette and rules. Consider that they may not view food the same way as you, and likely they don’t if you really think about how they cook, present, and the manners they have when eating. Japan and any other country doesn’t “need to” cater to tourists, it’s a privilege to travel to any country and the responsibility to adapt lies more with the guest. With Japan in particular, foreign tourists don’t actually contribute that much to the overall economy.

0:34 😂The other passenger's face. I know he probably saw Elliot setting up the shot. Love part one of this solo series!
the eating in the corner looks hella suspicious 😂
it's actually fine to eat on the streets. just need to be respectful of not causing a mess, bothering people, etc.
I googled why u can't eat in public & it came back saying that litter had become such an issue that Japan (in certain places) banned eating outside to prevent trash on the ground. Very interesting

Bro looked like he was up to some devious things stood in that corner eating 😂😂😂
You can eat in public, like in front of the combini. It’s frowned upon when you eat while walking.
yeah walking and eating is a no no but u can sit and eat in a corner and enjoy ur food
that's hella weird, its just food nothing serious, japan needs to be inclusive to other cultures eating etiquettes specially when us tourists contribute to their economy highly if its not for us japan is still in the gutters after the US deleting their cities lol
