Made a split decision to play Frank Bowers last minute while I was in another movie filming that summer. Some of the days got long and totally hot. It was totally worth it. Thank you for having me be part of it. Currently watching this now.
Rachel’s actress perfectly embodies the emotional, charismatic character of Rachel Amber. While she may not look exactly like her physically, I have literally never seen anyone else resemble Rachel like this girl does. This is *chef kiss* perfection.
I might be slightly late, although, I agree, all of the characters are like this though, they all capture the image of the characters when written down and display it on video, even if they don't look and sound like the game characters
Absolutely blown away by the production and execution of this film. The crux of what made Before the Storm such an important game was that we finally met Rachel, and she lived up to everything not only in Chloe's eyes, but in our eyes too. Similarly, Cassi McMullen's performance was dead on, and I was caught off guard by how effortless she made her portrayal of Rachel Amber seem. The dynamic of the two lead actresses transcended the tailored storyline if you will. So well done! I'm glad we got to see the legendary blue hair dye scene. :)
Is it bad that I think this is better than the actual game? Everything just flows so well and feels so natural! This Rachel to me is the Rachel I imagined from the first game. I absolutely love this! Amazing job to everyone who worked on this
I wasn’t sure what to think - but it was everything I wanted it to be. Great work to everyone involved. Loved Payton’s performance of Chloe so so much!!
In the game Joyce doesn’t realize she’s lost William but she also lost Chloe. I think Chloe died along with William like Chloe is still alive but Chloe numbing the pain by being reckless and invincible. That’s why I think in reality max should sacrifice Chloe.
Oh my god, this is truly amazing! As a person who holds Life is Strange and Before the Storm dear to his heart, I've gotta say that you absolutely nailed it. The acting was on point, the chemistry between the two leads great and believable and most important of all: you captured the heart and the soul of what made this story and these characters so good to begin with. There were moments where I got goosebumps and you even managed to make me cry. That's impressive! I'm very pleased about this movie and I'll recommend it to anyone I can. Truth be told I'll probably even rewatch it several times in the future. Big thumbs up! Thank you for all your hard work. It was worth it!
Wooow. To be honest I didn't expect too much from this project, because I've watched a lot of fan made Life is strange films, and I've tought, that they couldn't capture the feeling of the game. But this one is so outstanding from the others, it's full of talented actors, it has got a great storyline, so as I was watching it sometimes I completely forgot, that it was "just" a fan movie. Thank you for this amazing two hours guys, and keep going. You are unbelievably gifted
Everyone did such an amazing job!! I'm just blown away. You can tell that its been a true labor of love. Carrsan and Shelby, thank you for throwing so much hard work into this project. Eliot was in the game to demonstrate that refusing to leave the past behind will only destroy us in the long run. In her last diary entry of the game, Chloe tells Max that the time has come to say goodbye because she's realized she can't live in the past anymore. It's worth pointing out that this epiphany comes after she narrowly escaped the clutches of a guy whose pathetically desperate refusal to say goodbye to a dead relationship turned him into a stalker and ultimately caused him to ruin his own life. Joyce said it best: the most beautiful gift you can give another person is a collection of wonderful memories. What Eliot's meltdown did was permanently tarnish the memories he shared with Chloe. Whenever the thought of him flits across her mind, she's not going to smile with affection and wonder how her old friend's doing. She's going to shudder as a chill runs down her spine and hope to God that she never sees his face again. He's gone from being the lovable dork she once danced with at a concert to the hulking brute who made her fear for her life in James Amber's study. Eliot's dead in Chloe's heart. And that's why Chloe decides she must let go of Max. Because she wants to protect the precious memories they share. Keep them pure and true rather than let bitterness rob them of their value. Like the photographs Max took of them both in those golden days before her innocence was lost forever, the memories will always be there for Chloe to cherish but for now, she must put them away in the drawer and plant her feet firmly in the here and now.

I’m still blown away by how good the casting of these characters is. Payton (Chloe) and Cassi (Rachel) was amazing in their roles. And the casting of the parents was great! They feel like real, believable characters who could totally exist in real life.
I have to say, this fan-film blew me away in all my expectations going into watching it. This has to be one of the highest quality fan-films I've seen. So happy that UA-cam landed this in my recommendations the other day, not only did it make my evening - but re-sparked my interest in the Life is Strange universe. So thanks for that! Just wanted to add that everyone from the production members, to the cast themselves has done an amazing job and should be proud of themselves for delivering such a good quality film for us fans to enjoy. Looking forward to seeing you on your future endeavours. =)
I'm crying! This is awesome, I missed the LiS fandom and this fan film gosh! It's so beautiful, Rachel had that exotic nature, you could feel the struggle with Chloe and Nathan! Man I got the creeps at the end. Congratulations!!
You guys set the bar hella high for fanmade films. This was so freaking amazing. Payton Knight and Cassi McMullen knocked it out of the park; the casting for everyone was perfect. Editing was fantastic; had a great laugh when it transitioned from Chloe whining about being in the play, and then suddenly *cut to Chloe in costume*. I loved that you took scenes from the game, made them as accurate as possible, and then of course, added your own tidbits here and there to make the film stand well on its own. You had me and so many others last night during the premiere on the edges of our seats during the ending. The way you handled Nathan and Damon? Sheer perfection. And of course, the way Chloe and Rachel’s friendship and romance played out were spot on, and I’m so glad you - the creators of the film, and the actresses got it right.
InsectiGaming That’s the idea! She’s trying to get Rachel to smile, and it doesn’t work. The secondhand embarrassment can lead to some residual “cringe”.
12-10-18 The movie now has English captions up to the 52:25. That means you can auto-translate the captions into any language for the first portion of the film! The rest of the captions will be added soon. Thank you to our non-English speaking fans for your patience!
1:02:30 is some of the best "angrily changing clothes while griping about someone's bs" acting I've seen in an amateur film. I keep coming back to this because of Rachel and Chloe's actresses, they're so darn good!
This deserves so much more praise than I can give! I knew it was going to great, but damn was I underprepared for the emotional roller coaster it took me on. The casting, acting, editing, costume design, sound and video quality, the script, literally everything was perfect. The mixture of content from the video game and the content you guys created made for an exciting, and emotional story that couldn't have been delivered any better. We are all very proud of this amazing work of art, and so greatly appreciated the time, effort and hard work put into it by all of the cast and crew. Congratulations!!!
I honestly can say that I legit shedded thug tears while watching this movie. Cassi and Peyton are HELLA beautiful and totally rocked as Rachel and Chloe! Amazingly well done movie and I’m looking forward to future projects!
Oh, this Rachel is amazing. I'd tell she's even better than Rachel from the game 😍 This is really amazing and this fire OMG. I like how you mixed both 2nd and 3rd episode and even add a small part from bonus episode. That is genius! I love it ❤
this was absolutely amazing! i enjoyed every second of it and the ending especially gave me chills! the casting was perfect and the actresses who played rachel & chloe did such a great job! absolutely loved this project and can’t wait to see what u guys create next!!
OH WOW! This was AWESOME! Hella worth the wait! Its been one hellova ride, you guys left me with my heart ripped out, eyes drenched, whole being just melted into a puddle of raw emotions and fangirlness. You guys are soooo awesome and I love you so much. Keep up the amazing work :)
Holy crap! This is so good! I'm such a fan of the original games, and have been for about a year now. I found these this summer from a friend, when she called me sobbing cause she had just finished watching "What if" she told me to watch it. I was hella bored, and was staying in a hotel room with my grandma, waiting on my aunt's plane to arrive, with nothing to do so I did. And I was literally going through so many emotions, laughing, crying. My grandma thought I was having a mental break down. I was so pumped when I found out there'd be a before the storm prequel. I found this yesterday, and I'm so glad I did. This is truly amazing, thank you kind humans. 😂♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
@@CITYMProductions Yeah I've watched it twice already really enjoyed it. From a technical point of view its far better than What if but just from an acting and world building perspective its on par with full budget indie films. You made really good decisions, from both writing a cohesive story and budget constraints, with what to include and what to leave out from the game, although watching Chloe fixing up the truck was one of my favourite bits in BTS. I also like how the music felt more prominent here and felt more relevant for each particular scene than in what if. To me the stand out performances were James Prescott, Chloe and Rachel honestly would love to see those actors in more of your films in the future if thats a possibility. I won't go on too much longer but just really well done all the cast and all the behind the scenes crew. The film looks and feels like so much more than just a fan film and the amount of effort put into it from everyone is just incredible especially with the sets. Proud to have my name attached in any way with this.
This is absolutely A-MA-ZING. Rachel and Chloe are so on spot. Just wow. The acting, the looks... And also, I love how the person who shouts "SAY YES!" during the play is Steph 😂 Makes that part even funnier.
HECK. This is SUCH a step up from 'What If' and I honestly didn't think that would be possible! Everything about this just flows seamlessly and is just so gripping I couldn't look away for a second. Absolutely phenomenal job, well done to all involved. Also whale sounds have never sounded more terrifying... o.o
The character accuracy is insane! My favorites are David, Rachel and Damon! 29:29 I've watched this a few times now but just barely noticed the beans on the dashboard! 1:01:00 PERFECTLY TIMED RAINBOW! "I'd rather live a life of "oh wells" than a life of "what ifs" That was on Chloe's wall in "WHAT IF!" .< Good job! 1:45:42 I LOVE CHLOE'S TATTS, ESPECIALLY THE KEYBLADE! "Do not fuck with me, you're as beautiful as ever" LOL I love the twist with Damon and Nathan. Makes them both a little more creepier! CHILLS!! Just as awesome as "What If"
Whats-My-Fandom not trying to sound mean I was just saying they didn’t say that line. I think there was a misunderstanding on my part because I thought they actually said that
I’ve come back to rewatch for the 100th time… 🤣😭 just a masterpiece. Absolutely beautiful. Will be rewatching the first one again after. Thank you guys 😭❤️🫂🥰
MDean Are you alright, do you need help? Rachel amber, she’s the most wonder and beautiful actor in this film. I mean obviously all the actors are beautiful in their own way, and wonderful.
this was very well done and casted. Literally everyone played their roles very well. This video seriously needs more views, I thought it would have at least hit half a million views by now. Keep making videos like these.
The ending was terrifying, Nathan with his photos and that whale-like sound in the background caught me off guard, I loved the two Life is Strange movies they made. The result is magnificent, as if it were from professionals. Luv this!
the fact that you had the whale noises nathan listens to playing over the pictures of rachel was chilling and absolutely phenomenal. i just rewatched it, and jsjsksak still love this fan film!!
oh my lord, guys this is stunning!! I loved every minute of it! I can't express how much I appreciate the effort and love you have put into this! Tell Cassi (who plays Rachel) that she totally nailed the nature of Rachel and is just as lovely as the original Rachel! But it's also important to mention the whole cast was hella great! Once again thank you for this breath-taking film :')
I have got to say, I just watched both of these movies from the first life is strange and this one and I am very impressed. You captured so much that the game never got to obtain and just added more to the story that we never got to see. And I am so happy that you guys brought to life and this way. I’m just hoping that you do something this grand when life is strange 2 is done.
OKAY THIS IS ONE THE MOST AMAZING THING ON UA-cam. Thank you all for this and for “What if”. I am so glad I found this account, it’s one of the best. Please note I care about every single person in this and this should in a cinema
To everyone who took part, congratulations and honestly the confidence! I’m amazed! Big round of applause to everyone involved! Takes confidence and courage!!
Oh! It's magical! It's a masterpiece! This is the best fan-made I've ever seen!! (I also love "What if?" Of course) ^^ Payton and Cassi are hella perfect !! You chose the best! Thank you Carrsan, Shelby and everyone who participated in this production. I love you guys! ♥♥♥
Truly amazing awesome work! I love it so much! I'm from Hungary and I started to translate it to the hungarian fans who dosen't speak english very well :) I hope you don't mind! Thank you so much for your hard work guys!
The farewell tape def had me in tears lol. I love that this is an adaptation and not a direct remake, and the timeline of this almost makes better sense than the game. Another stellar film. Be proud of your work
This feels like a wonderful gift. I love everyone's performances, the powerful opening credits sequence, Rachel playing D&D, Ms. Keaton, all the little details such as the post-it notes on Chloe's bathroom mirror, Max's recorded message, Chloe's endearing awkwardness, Chloe and Rachel's chemistry, the flow of events from start to finish, and so many other things. The scenes between Chloe and William made me cry in the game and they also did during this adaptation, I feel for Chloe so much because my own father died four years ago. I've seen plenty of ~symbolic dreams~ about him, too. Thank you for sharing this beautiful film!
This was strangely addictive...once I started watching it I couldn't stop. Lol! It was a lot better than what I expected! This was SO GOOD and I really enjoyed it!!!! Bravo to the actors and everyone involved in making this film! 👏👏 Also some things in the end credits gave me a little chuckle..."Special thanks to Dave Johnson for letting total strangers film creepy stuff in his shed." LOL 😂
The best fanmade- film ever!! The Acting Spot on! I rate this 100%💕💕 Goodjob guys, goodjob. I love all the actors!! specially the Chloe and Rachel. Ahhhhhhh💕
I honestly love this film, after finally getting around to playing the game itself, I must say that what you've done here and how you've made it your own is something really special! Great job guys, the acting is great and the cast is really fitting: to name a few: Chloe and Rachel obviously, but I really liked the actors for Drew, Nathan, Dameon, Frank and Rachel's parents! Can't wait to see some future projects from you!
I might be late but... THIS IS AN AMAZING PIECE OF ART! The acting really surprised me and I admire the amount of effort put into this. I loved the cast and the changes made were so spot on. Beautiful and in going to watch "What If?" next. I'm sure you did an amazing work too.
The sheer nostalgia I feel, rewatch after rewatch… Every actor, actress, director, writer & producer involved in this, should feel so damn proud of what they’ve done. 🌀
I just finished watching this and... THE WORK YOU MADE IS AMAZING! I felt all your effort and you even connected some things more clearly! You also managed to add to your movie the dark essence the game has. Congratulations to all the team! (Loved all the actors and actresses, they did it great, but I really loved Rachel 😍).
I have to say guys.. You did hela great. YOU ROCK!! I love the way you used all memorable scenes in an entire differend way. I don't really feel much because i'm a bit cold but this made me go on a feeltrip again. Thank you for reminding me that i can feel something. That i'm human. Bravo on everybody doing there part great even with the differend actors. I truly felt a connection with Chloe and Rachel. Frank was a bit to emotional if i am being truly honest for his character. I had to wait for a good moment to finally watch this because i needed to be in the right place and time. Good luck on future plans ❤️❤️
Wow you guys did awesome. Loved that they were fully flirting and all that earlier than in the game. It was great over all. Amberprice for life. Always looking for more LIS specifically before the storm content and I’m so glad I found this
Wow, I can't believe I never noticed that the team who did my favorite LIS fan film also did BTS too! I like this one better than the first honestly! The attention to detail really shows(also love how you were able to include the bottles in a very sinister way) You improved the story so much! I'm blown away! I have so many compliments. The side characters really shine more, I really loved what you did with Samantha. The shifted story elements are so much better and flow more perfect. Adding Max's tape in was perfect. Not only does this feel like Life is Strange, you managed to blend the supernatural elements in so well. Also props for combining Damon and Jefferson for a very creepy villain that also flows perfectly into tutoring Nathan into the person shown in "What If?". The acting is amazing, the characters felt more natural, the talk scene with Chloe and David was so good, and the finale, you not only fixed the finale but it broke me. All of it. The added scene with Mr Amber at the end was so chilling. This should have been the game.
2 years of effort & hard work have paid off. This was an amazing experience as a Life is Strange fan, & just a great film overall. Payton Knight & Cassi McMullen brought the characters of Chloe Price & Rachel Amber to life in a way I almost never thought possible. Payton's performance in particular captivated me, as I noticed certain ticks she had, such as her speech slowing and stuttering anytime she mentioned her father--as if she can just barely stomach getting the words out--as opposed to her normal quick-witted gab. SPOILERS: Combining Mr. Jefferson & Damon Merrick together was an unexpected yet brilliant change that I loved, & his connection to Nathan that set up the first film worked so well. Speaking of Nathan, Jaden Amjadi was fantastically terrifying, & I almost wish we could see him as Nathan in What If? The only cast member I didn't enjoy was Telly Alexander as Drew North. There was something about his performance that felt... IDK, phoney, I guess. Whatever it was, it took me out of the film a bit anytime Drew showed up. Another things that irched me was a good amount of expository dialogue, particularly in the first act of the film. But those were minor problems, & this was still a great film. I give it an 8.5/10.
The amount of detail in the shots and frames are incredible!! I really thought I wasn't going to be into it, but im glad someone recommended a watch!! You guys did amazing! Well done!!
They even added the hand thing that Chloe does when talking to Wells!

And of course, the way Chloe and Rachel’s friendship and romance played out were spot on, and I’m so glad you - the creators of the film, and the actresses got it right.
anyone else cringe so hard when chloe was jumping on the tire
InsectiGaming That’s the idea! She’s trying to get Rachel to smile, and it doesn’t work. The secondhand embarrassment can lead to some residual “cringe”.
@space._.bunnies yup
I'll need a little space in my calendar to watch this. it's gonna be fun
Watch both of them, I forgot about your channel tbh
Oh, this Rachel is amazing. I'd tell she's even better than Rachel from the game 😍 This is really amazing and this fire OMG. I like how you mixed both 2nd and 3rd episode and even add a small part from bonus episode. That is genius! I love it ❤
Miu Kagamine
Love your profile pic❤️❤️❤️
brooklyn costa I sense a supernatural fan ❤ Thank you very much
Right she fit her more than the actual character. The nose piercing, the wearing plaid jacket around the waist sometimes, her personality is just 💯
I thought the same thing 😍
This Rachel is more likeable than the actual one in my opinion.
this was absolutely amazing! i enjoyed every second of it and the ending especially gave me chills! the casting was perfect and the actresses who played rachel & chloe did such a great job! absolutely loved this project and can’t wait to see what u guys create next!!
Messages like this mean the world to us, thank you.
@@CITYMProductions ♥️
well I know what I'm gonna be watching this weekend
Sam Morris Did you get a chance to watch it? 😊🦋
Sam Morris Thank you so much Sam. You helped make this film what it is, and we are so honored by that. Much love from us to you, as always. 💙🦋
@@sammorris9540 I agree with everything!!
@@sammorris9540, yeah, I miss the old junker pickup too
This is absolutely A-MA-ZING.
Also whale sounds have never sounded more terrifying... o.o
Rachel's Role Is So Perfect. She's So Pretty
my edit is better B)
The character accuracy is insane! My favorites are David, Rachel and Damon!
29:29 I've watched this a few times now but just barely noticed the beans on the dashboard!
1:01:00 PERFECTLY TIMED RAINBOW!
"I'd rather live a life of "oh wells" than a life of "what ifs" That was on Chloe's wall in "WHAT IF!" .< Good job!
1:45:42 I LOVE CHLOE'S TATTS, ESPECIALLY THE KEYBLADE!
"Do not fuck with me, you're as beautiful as ever" LOL
I love the twist with Damon and Nathan. Makes them both a little more creepier! CHILLS!!
Just as awesome as "What If"
When is the, “you’re as beautiful as ever,”?
@@severussnape2262 2:01:12
Whats-My-Fandom is that what you thought when you saw it? Because that’s not what they said
@@severussnape2262 I didn't think anything, just funny how it was said.
Whats-My-Fandom not trying to sound mean I was just saying they didn’t say that line. I think there was a misunderstanding on my part because I thought they actually said that
actor of Chloe, her tattoo though. Keyblade omg.. Kingdom Hearts fans too?? :D
Okay but the ending. The part with Nathan's photos scared the shit out of me. I appreciate that you included that foreshadow ending but dammit lol
I’ve come back to rewatch for the 100th time… 🤣😭 just a masterpiece. Absolutely beautiful. Will be rewatching the first one again after. Thank you guys 😭❤️🫂🥰
omg, Rachel is so beautiful
omg shes so fat
omg shes so fat
@@mdean7299 fat?? Are u blind??
MDean Are you alright, do you need help? Rachel amber, she’s the most wonder and beautiful actor in this film. I mean obviously all the actors are beautiful in their own way, and wonderful.
this was very well done and casted. Literally everyone played their roles very well.
This video seriously needs more views, I thought it would have at least hit half a million views by now. Keep making videos like these.
the effort that must've went into this is unreal.. It makes for a good movie. thanks.
Nice catch!
This is hella good why i'm only seen this now!? Thanks youtube for recommending this 👍
oh my lord, guys this is stunning!!
I died when Chloe started to jump around to get the vans attention XD
Ngl this dynamic was cute, and you picked perfect people for the roles! Especially for Chloe and Racheal
The Tempest play was spot on ! Thanks for bringing this to life 💜
OKAY THIS IS ONE THE MOST AMAZING THING ON UA-cam. Thank you all for this and for “What if”. I am so glad I found this account, it’s one of the best. Please note I care about every single person in this and this should in a cinema
I love how Rachel’s mom is like a Lowkey amberprice shipper.
“Leave the door open please”
“Ya” *closes the door”
This is incredible. Thank you so much for putting your love, time and energy into this project, and then for sharing it with us!
All of the young and grown actors in this deserve HUGE kudos. Way to commit... really good.
To everyone who took part, congratulations and honestly the confidence! I’m amazed! Big round of applause to everyone involved! Takes confidence and courage!!
Oh! It's magical!
It's a masterpiece!
This is the best fan-made I've ever seen!! (I also love "What if?" Of course) ^^
Payton and Cassi are hella perfect !! You chose the best!
Thank you Carrsan, Shelby and everyone who participated in this production. I love you guys! ♥♥♥
The scene with Victoria getting the pep talk FUCKING GOT ME IT WAS SO HILARIOUS AND SO GOOD IN SO MANY WAYS
ALSO THE DOG WAS SO FUCKING CUTE I’M GONNA CRY
Truly amazing awesome work! I love it so much! I'm from Hungary and I started to translate it to the hungarian fans who dosen't speak english very well :) I hope you don't mind! Thank you so much for your hard work guys!
Woah, Damon also has some Mark Jefferson's to him, and we explore his relationship with Frank a little bit. Freaking amazing.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful film!
that was hella amazing
The ending though. My heart literally sank. This was amazing. All the effort and time you put in really shows. Thank you guys so much for making this.
I also love the fact that you made Rachel's character more likeble and it feels like she actually cares about chloe and not just using her.
Ahhhhhhh💕
the David and Chloe moment talking at the table was sweet
Oh my god. That's amazing work. Thank you everybody who participated in it.
This was beautiful. I cried when I heard Max's voice.
Man I want more life is strange
I'm in love with the actresses that played Chloe and Rachel.
You guys have blown me away with both films.
Good luck on future plans
❤️❤️
YMS brought me here. what an actually faithful rendition!
The attention to detail really shows(also love how you were able to include the bottles in a very sinister way)
You improved the story so much!
Oakley Fugate Wow, thank you so much!
This was really, really, really good. I laughed, I cried. The cast really worked- You should all be so proud.
Honestly, the ending for this fan video makes a lot more sense for Rachel's fate in LiS and Nathan's descent into depravity. Very well done.
The amount of detail in the shots and frames are incredible!! I really thought I wasn't going to be into it, but im glad someone recommended a watch!! You guys did amazing! Well done!!
