At the church I attended to years ago. We would actually have a lady that played the piano. Create songs that had scriptures in them. I learned many scriptures by singing the songs. For example, blessed is the man that walketh, not in the council of the ungodly, nor sitteth in the way of The Sinner nor sitteth at the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law does he meditate day and night. He shall be like us. Tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth its fruit in season. Its leaves shall not wither and whatsoever. He doeth, shall prosper.
I love that, Mary! You are absolutely right - putting a verse to a melody is a very effective memorization strategy. (That's what the book of Psalms is all about-it's the Bible's hymn book.) However, I have personally found the method in this video more effective for larger portions of Scripture (when I'm looking to memorize 100 verses or more). Thanks for watching!
3:55 - if you want to jump right into the memorization strategy.
Oh at the end you said to learn a new verse daily so i see the answer to my question. Thanks
I hope it works well for you Lindy!
Interesting, thank you
This is really helpful, thank you! My first verse is going to be exactly this well chosen verse you demonstrated with! ❤
That's great Tracy!! I'm so glad you are giving this a try. This is such a powerful habit to embrace!
Great idea!
Thanks!
4:14 - I did not do this in 2014... It's 2024. Just a decade behind!! Lord have mercy.

I have chosen Psalm 95:6-7
Worshipping God as creator - great pick!
Do you just work on one verse at a time or multiple verses?
