    It will only work best if u have the tire remove and take care of the crack from the inside of the rim, just let it dry for 2 or 3 days and light sand it so the tire seats evenly on the rim. i fixed mines with JB WELD on size 22 alloy rim and after 4 years no leaks. Great video!!

      Preciate it you answered my question i cracked 2 different rims and both the times I’ve gotten it actually welded but they charge 100$ for small ass cracks so I’m just planning to jb weld it but i didnt know how long it would last until you answered the question for me thank you

    DO NOT DO WHAT HE DID. first clean the area where you want to apply the JB weld then sand the area, then clean it again. MOST important is to mix the 2 parts well for at least 2 mins so you see that there is no streaks of the hardener. Good luck.

      100% agreed, people need to know what there actually doing before they try and teach others, now a bunch of people around the world think they learned something GOOD because they watched this when in fact he taught exactly how NOT to do this job correctly, I admire him for the effort but before teaching you must learn CORRECTLY...

      Forget how to apply the glue... DO NOT EVEN DO THIS TO A RIM.

      And I would break the bead on the tire and put the JB Weld on the inside of the rim where the crack is not on the outside. The air is Gna push it out of the crack instead of the air, forcing it to state against the crack on the inside

  • @joshm5156
    @joshm5156 Рік тому +1

    I’m thinking the JB Weld would probably last a bit longer if you broke the bead of the tire and patched it from the inside, so the air pushing out of the tire doesn’t get underneath your patch that’s on the outside of the rim if that makes sense. Patch it from the inside that would hold a lot longer to be a lot stronger I would assume.

  • @CTHellcat

    That little funnel in the trunk is for pouring gas from a gas can. A normal spout from a can won't fit down the gas cap hole. So you have to put the funnel in first.

    Man, that wheel is toast. Before ragging on you for this type of repair I’d like to mention that this should really be fixed from the inside to try to save any integrity of the rim. This is a surface repair at best and may not hold like you expected.

    • @BuilditRT

      MrTTqUaTtRo yeah, it held for about a month just in time for me to get a new wheel. I took it to a repair shop a week after this video was shot and posted. He said he couldn’t fill it in because the crack splintered off in two directions.

      Build it R/T as they will with this type. I solute you for at least taking the time to post the video and I appreciated how you did your homework on proper jack points and such. You only did what you could, this type of crack is nearly impossible to fix. Great fix ! I did the same to my Merc AMG wheel, it started on Xmas day with a slow puncture, had to top up air for a long journey, couldn’t see any obvious signs like a nail or rip when I took the wheel off, then noticed crack. No spare, just a bottle of goo and electric pump, which is so stupid!
    JB welded it up, left the car for a few days and it held the air in.
    Just waiting for Mercedes wheel insurance to sort out new replacement wheel but what a pain, super fast car sitting on my driveway, they said if I got it repaired myself first for about £100, so I can use it confidently, it will void my claim!
