    I’m not interested in the competition aspect of mermaiding but they’re nice to watch. I’m still working on breathholding but there’s nowhere nearby that offers freediving training.

    The competition sounds fun, but having to be there for one full day of the convention is pretty off-putting, I would definitely want to want to partake in other activities and see people

    Great video! I'm not really into competitions but I'm curious, do they care if you blow some bubbles from you nose or wear a nose clip? I'm not very good at keeping water out of my nose without blowing some air out

    If everyone has to do the same moveme nts in the same order then I feel like you're going to end up with a bunch of routines that are almost identical. I understand having required elements, but as a spectator I feel like watching them all in the same order will get boring fast.

    • @KahSing82
      @KahSing82 4 роки тому +1

      Carrieliney exactly, i hated how nowadays these “professional” mermaids setting up rules n fix style for it. It’s getting ridiculous, i think u can have a guide on how to improve to look more natural n also in terms of skill to hv control in water but demanding a specific look or pose looks stupid n taking the fun out of it.
      N all these standards only make some self claim pros feels more superior of themselves. There’s no bible to it so who exactly gets to decide what’s wrong n what’s right?

    • @Carrieliney
      @Carrieliney 4 роки тому +2

      KahSing82 the rules are only for the competition, and if people want to enter that’s their choice. You have to have standards for competition- look at gymnastics or figure skating. But no one is saying that all mermaids everywhere have to follow the rules.

    • @KahSing82
      @KahSing82 4 роки тому +1

      @@Carrieliney yes i understand what u mean but sadly the community a lot r taking it the wrong way, apparently ppl start "disqualifying" those that have been mermaiding for decades n it's fusing some new mers to feel superior n enforcing the ideal of mermaid "poses", i dont wanna quote who but i had personal experience of mers that insist of some pose being absolute wrong but even for just a normal swim.
      I think thats the prblem i'm highligting people should showcase n describe how to improve or do better poses instead of labelling those movements as WRONG immediately.

    Nice, super exciting! But I’m curious why weights are allowed with no penalty when control of buoyancy seems to be repeatedly stressed but nose plugs which are always used by synchronized swimmers when performing upside down are not? @aquamermaid

    • @aquamermaidschool
      @aquamermaidschool  4 роки тому +2

      Everyone has the same type of nose and can work on managing the pain of water in their sinus, however, body composition and type of mermaid tail can really affect how you float. (especially neoprene tails are really buoyant). With proper weight, everyone can perform on the same level being neutrally buoyant

      Pour la figure 8 tu as 2 options. Soit tu souffle des bulles par ton nez, ou tu t'h'abitue a l'incomfort de l'eau dans Les sinus. Le truc est de faire la section avec la tete à l'envers rapidement comme ca l'eau n'a que quelque secondes pour entrer. Apres c'est de la pratique. Mais c'est 100% faisable

    • @angeliquederks1600
      @angeliquederks1600 4 роки тому

      At first you could use a noseclip to avoid water from going up your nose. And I´m still practicing how to sink when I´m not moving. If I have to stand still underwater (for pictures and stuff) I release a tiny bit of air as soon as I dive down and it helps me to stay on the ground of the pool

    I think it would be more artistic to look at the competitors if these skills are not in the same order with everybody in the water. I am a judge in gymnastics and it is the duty of a judge to identify the skills in a short period of time and assess whether or not it was executed and be given a point. Placing the skills at a specific order would be a comfort to the judges but knowing that these skills can be done for a couple of times then it would not burden the judges. It will depend on how they will use the skills to match their choreography and in telling the story. Just a thought.

    If you guys feel anything to mermaids or love to be one and feel connected to them you should look into starseeds!

    • @MermaidAleshaAmor
      @MermaidAleshaAmor 4 роки тому +1

      Starseeds are a breed of human. They're born starseeds. While mermaids and starseeds might share similar missions in life, like saving the planet and inspiring a new way at living... I'm afraid at the root of it starseeds have nothing to do with mermaiding. Unless we pick it up as a hobby or profession. Like I have. But I'm rather impressed through it all, that you are aware of the new spiritual race that is populating this planet. Applauded. Much love lil sister!! 💜🧜‍♀️💫⭐🌟🥰👼👏💞
