Hello! very cool! I'm from Russia and also have an x-trail t30! I also raised the suspension, but I did it with spacers for the shock absorbers! your x-trail looks great!
The T30 was the last of the really good soft roaders IMHO. I always loved the way you could select "Lock" if you saw a boggy section coming up. Far better than many AWD systems which wait for traction loss to engage. In a car with limited clearance, too little too late as you could be bottomed out before it cut in, if you were in soft sand.
@xasperations they need to bring back the low range 4wds again like make the Suzuki vitara a proper low range 4wd again I miss seeing all the soft roaders and little low range nuggets out of the tracks
Great video man, thank you. I own an X-Trail in Japan which has served me well. Starting to get smoe rust issues underside from all the salt roads in winter. Anything I should look out for to keep it running well, or should I consider hunting a new one?
Nice dude we don't have to worry about rust as much over here luckily but I no the rear strut towers like to rust away so that's definitely the biggest point to check. You should see it when you remove the plastic cover to get the the top bolts for the strut
13:00 spilt rubber dust boots? I have not seen any of these so far, only for CV-boots. Please tell me when you found some. Also really nice rust-free car. Mine started his weight-reduction years ago (salty winter roads unfortunately)
Hey dc there's heaps online if you search shock absorber dust cover And I'm pretty lucky with rust here in aus only thing to be worried about is the salt water which is nothing a little rinse underneath won't fix after being on the beach Never seen snow in real life haha I really need to
@@OUTBACKDiscovery As i said ... find some split ones that can be installed without taking the whole strut apart again. (going from 13:00 backwards to 11:45 ). My guess is as these things are always just advisories when doing the inspection (TÜV, MOT, etc), there is no demand for easily repair-kits.
@dcdc358 going back a fair bit now but it was a thing when I was into my little suzuki vitaras back in the day used be able to by them slide them over and it was like a zip sort of setup that cable tied off at the bottom Super handy bloody can't find them to save my life now though
Great job on the suspension and brakes! I think I've got a very small head gasket leak, there's occasional small bubbles in the coolant and the hydrocarbon test showed exhaust gas in the coolant, and it loses about a cup every hundred miles or so. I'm thinking of doing the head gasket myself, any tips or things to watch for? And about how many hours do you estimate it took?
It took me around 12 hrs I leak the intake manifold behind supported by the support bracket which I found made it easier to install later one Nothing really jumps out at me advice wise itnwas a relatively straight forward job but just a bit time consuming
Hey Adam unfortunately I had to get it done asap when my landrover broke down at the same time so I didn't record it as recording doubles the time it takes for me to get the job done unfortunately Would of been a good video
Hey man! Hope this finds you. Do you think this tire size would fit if you hadn’t done the new springs? I’m considering upgrading tire size but would like to keep suspension stock.
Hey hunter I think it would be fine I test fit these before the lift and I think the only time it would rub with when aired down on the beach But even then it would of just rubbed on the mud flaps
One more question if you don’t mind, you mentioned that your rims are a pos 20 offset. Do you get much poke? It’s hard to tell from the video. Where im located all that is available is pos 12.
@hunterjensen4359 morning Pos 20 kept the wheels flush with the fenders just.. Pos 12 will get you put the rim slightly outside the fenders not by much but by enough to flick dirt up your car whenever you go on a dirty road * which is what I was trying to avoid
Hi. Did you do any work with the fenders? I have an xtrail nt30 as well and would like to put on the 225 75 15 tyres. Not sure if it would fit unless I widen the fenders. And can 215 80 15 work on the nt30?
Please, where do you get all your parts for your t30 from? I am from Nepal and have a hard time finding parts for my xyee a t30 2007 diesel. Your reply will be appreciated. Thank you
245 70 16 would require some manipulation of panels I think considering there just under a 31inch tall tyre I'm running 225/75/15 which is just over 28 inches tall and I get very minor scrubbing when aired down 4wding It also effected fuel economy going up from 9.4ltrs per 100km to 11.6ltr per 100km just buy going that extra inch taller then factory
Hey sundeep I took a bit of a break from youtube to sort out the house we are renovating and get settled into my job more The car has been sold since but have plenty of video footage saved for it just need to put in the time to edit them
Why do all that and not put new top hats on they are as cheap as chips and you will know you never have to do all that again when the hat bearing collapses
Wasn't able to get the top hats for 2 days and had the registration inspection the days after installing all of this stuff Was on a bit of a tight time schedule but yes good point and definitely valid, if the top hats were worn I would of cancled inspection and waited for parts but they were fine so ran them I had also at this point spent around 3.2k on parts for this car not including all my labour and was budgeting for a possible faulty oil cooler and failed head gasket which both ended up needing to be done but managed to sneak it through the inspection centre and get it registered first 🤣 Was supposed to be a cheap little build for a work car and cost me 5.7k in the end including registration haha
Hey David it's just the factory alloy nudge bar from Nissan, there was heaps of them on market place for like $100 if you search nissan xtrail nudge bar and then your looking for one off a 2001-2007 xtrail
Hello! very cool! I'm from Russia and also have an x-trail t30! I also raised the suspension, but I did it with spacers for the shock absorbers! your x-trail looks great!
Nice one 🍻 how does it go offroad have you taken it many places yet I no Russia seems to have some cool 4wding places

First comment😂 that's one heavy duty looking spring compressor
She's a beauty probably my favourite bit of special tooling I own, feels a dam lot safer using that then the 2 old school clamps
