  • A review of the Hotel Kapok, located in the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square area of Beijing, China. I stayed here in May after visiting North Korea. As usual, I used TripAdvisor to research the best areas and hotels, and then Expedia to book. This was a perfect choice for me!
I booked it for one night. My room was gigantic and surrounded by lots of cool restaurants, a 24/7 convenience store, and lots of souvenir places. My room was the "Deluxe Business" room and it cost me $127US including tax. It came with wireless internet and even had a computer in the room! The hotel is walking distance to a large outdoor mall, a main tourist street, and of course the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
Check-in was fast and easy (isn't it always?), and there is a cafe in the hotel with some cool pastries and a breakfast however that costs extra. This was easily one of the coolest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in due to the huge bathroom which you have to see to believe.
If you have any questions about my stay in Beijing, my trip to North Korea, or this hotel, feel free to leave comments below.
