As a bi person, it is so important to me that Nick keeps telling people that he is bisexual. Bi-erasure and biphobia is prominent, and I'm so happy the show addressed these.

It's not that difficult to understand that bi people just like boys AND girls, why are people exclusively mad at bisexuals for such a simple matter?
@@MarceloSilva-kp7mc people like to categorize, put things in boxes, it's how we understand things. So some people have a hard time looking outside the black and white, the yes or no, the gay or straight.
And what people don't know or understand, they fear or it makes them uncomfortable. And people who are bi (and many other sexualities) do not fit those strict boxes constructed.

Fun fact: those specific rugby boys were in fact at the cinema in season 1, and if you rewatch those scenes (and others where Harry is being… Harry) you can see them looking at each other uncertainly in the background, as if they’re not sure what to do. That’s one of the fun things about this being based on a previously written series, they can have lots of little moments like that with payoff in later seasons. The chocolate bar Charlie gets Nick in the first episode is likely intended to be one of those moments in a later season 👀. (But no spoilers! 🤐)

Nick saying he’s bi rather than using “gay” or “queer” is really important to the bi community, as most people don’t view our sexuality as being valid, and people saying we’re gay can feel really invalidating, it’s also a problem when it comes to relationships, if your dating someone of the opposite sex your straight but if your dating someone of the same sex your gay and people don’t really understand that we’re bi no matter who we’re with, so Nick being firm in saying he’s “bi” is so so so important.

Being bisexual doesn’t fluxate between identities. Bisexuality is a real and valid thing. Bi erasure can be kicked like a bowling ball along with Ben and Harry.
Yeah because bi meaning you might be a bit more attracted to the same sex but you still have attraction to the opposite sex. Therefore it’s important to know someone’s bi and attracted to both, not just gay or lesbian

Absolutely. Assuming someone is gay, who is actually bi, is the same as any other incorrect assumption about a persons sexuality.
I'm technically bi I guess but I don't like having labels so I just say I'm gay (as in queer) but I think biphobia is the most pointless thing in history, like if they like both, how is that a problem.

I just watched both seasons with my mom. She’s rlly homophobic (which is why i havent come out as bi yet) but she actually enjoyed the show. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction? Anyways so glad u guys are reacting to this. This show is honestly a warm hug

@@DoubleBlack2.0 I honestly dont know. I was watching s2 not that long ago and my mom came down stairs and was like “i like that girl’s (elle’s) hair”. And then on friday we were looking for something to watch and she was like “oh lets watch that show with the british people u were watching” and i was like “ummm i dont think ur gonna like it” and ig she took it as a challenge? And was like “lets watch it”. And then she liked it? (She looked visibly uncomfortable with the kissing scenes but other than that she took it pretty well.)
Nellie is still the MVP of the show and growling at David was peak cinema.
I feel like the episodes were chonky in the best way possible. Also, it’s so nice to see the group feeling more integrated than ever.

I have to say, from what I can remember out of every reaction I've seen, Benji has been the only reactor to actually understand why Nick won't be specific about Ben when warning Imogen.
I’ve watched Reel-Time’s reactions and they seemed to understand as well (and they’re all straight!). Even at this point of the story I think we can all agree that Ben is harboring a lot of issues to why he doesn’t feel comfortable coming out, so even though he’s been incredibly shitty I don’t think he deserves to be outed. It’s two entirely separate issues. Now if he had outed Nick I’d feel a bit differently…

The thing about Ben is that forcing someone out is something that feels more like Ben than Nick. It wouldn't be surprising coming from Ben, but absolutely coming from Nick, because Nick is a better person. Not to mention a) it's not his story to tell, he can't just talk about something that happened to Charlie, because it should be Charlie the one talking about that whenever he's ready (if he's ever ready). b) coming out (and how difficult it is for him) is a huge part of Nick's arc this season. It wouldn't make sense to out Ben when he knows how difficult it might be and how that's something he'll do when he's ready.
I don't know, for me it says more (and better things) about Nick that he doesn't out Ben. He's better than that and it shows.
Imogen slays and is hilarious this season. She provides the best meme templates.

The most responsible thing would actually be to either talk about safe sex and boundaries or to provide that information (and corresponding supplies) if either party is too uncomfortable with a direct approach.

I do want to say I think it was important when Nick corrects people that he's bisexual because of many reasons, the fact that bisexuality is hugely underrepresented in media, people often assume someone is just gay if they go from dating the opposite sex to dating the same sex and it can be frustrating having to defend your identity and also I think it was important for the actor because of the way the Internet basically forced him to come out as bisexual so I think it was a way for him to take control of that

Charlie has always been a good student as mentioned in the show, so him not doing his essay has so much more to do that being with nick, instead of talking to him, his mom just keeps setting the rules for him.

While I don’t disagree with the whole “outing should only be ok in the instance of assault” it wouldn’t be nicks place to tell Imogen about Ben, Charlie was the one to experience the assault and when and if he chooses to voice what happened, the story should only be coming from him unless he give’s permission for others to tell it, someone who’s experienced that kind of thing can take days, months or even years to fully process what happened to them, assault is really difficult to talk about or tell anyone about.

Another reason why Nick didn't tell Imogen is bc that's also Charlie's truth to tell, a sexual assault is such difficult and private thing, Nick wouldn't go around telling people that happened to him, not even to someone who he knows won't say anything bc that's something just the victim can do and if they want, Charlie wouldn't tell Imogen, he wouldn't like her to know so Nick respects that. And, yeah, maybe it can be for her safety but in that case you shouldn't say who's the victim and if you want to say it you still need Charlie's consent and that's something he should only give if he's ready, not for pressure.
Ooo that’s the best argument for keeping the “who” private! Charlie should absolutely be as protected as Imogen! But Nick should have definitely warned her that he could assault her 🥺

The part that bothered me the most is how much money Tao spends here despite having a single mom😅 He got a good haircut in the UK (~$75), bought a big bouquet ~$25), and went to premium Everyman Cinema for 2 (~$30) with too much food (~$40). That's just close to $200 and so expensive for a kid to spend on one date.
