The White Kayak - Expedition Greenland

In the mid 1930`s, a group of young British explorers, under the leadership of Gino Watkins, set sail to East Greenland to map a proposed aviation route across the Greenland Icecap in addition to locating suitable mid flight landing strips in one of the most inhospitable environments on Earth.
This young team undertook some of the most challenging journeys imaginable, by small boat, kayak, dog team & aircraft. Our own expeditions in 2023 will endeavour to tell the story of these journeys, also traveling by kayak, boat, aircraft and dog team as well as highlighting the many climatic & environmental changes that have taken place in East Greenland in the intervening decades.
