Thank you so much. I have been trying to figure all this stuff out since I got the coil but I couldn’t so thank you so much. Hopefully this will be the first step in building my large rotary spark gap coil that I have.
You're welcome! Make sure to record it. Also that rotary sgtc sounds cool too, hope to see some of that in the future. Good luck man and if you have any questions I'm here. Also forgot to mention you should really insulate the flyback transformer from the wood, I used hot glue and bulit a platform of glue and rubber about 1 cm high to insulate it which i didnt show in the video.
Sure, the exact capacitors don't matter as long as they are high voltage and tbh i don't know if its saving anything but Im using several. Here is the link for the blue capacitors that i'm using www.ebay.com/itm/193050930981 I think i was using 40pF caps. Also I have some 6n8 1600v caps that I like as well but didnt really show in the video. But if you just order like 20 of those then use two on your zvs driver input and maybe a couple on each side of your switch it would be good. The theory is that without the caps, the wires could be charged and discharged rapidly and it could be harmful to the zvs driver and back feed into ur power supply. By adding capacitance to the wires, it seems that it would be harder for the wires to become too charged and discharged, because you can only transmit so much charge per cycle.. So basically you end up wtih less noise back feeding into ur zvs and power supply. IMO we need these.
Also I show some 40v 20,000uF capacitors that I got used on ebay. got 5 for 40 dollars. Altho I'm just using my smart power supply and not actually using a proper transformer that i rectify to DC with.
Here is a link for an identical one on amazon. Exact same kit. Tesla Coil DIY Kit, PEMENOL Touchable Plasma Ball Spark Gap Arc Generator for Physics Teaching, Arc Plasma Artificial Lighting Science Experiment Model for College High School Education a.co/d/aqHBILk

Thanks for all the tips. And I’m excited for the rotary sgtc too. It will probably shoot up to a few foot long arcs hopefully
@@eckdirtbiking5113 You're welcome. That sounds so cool yeah. Make sure to record it!! :) And be careful. Can't wait to see :)
Great tutorial I guess I gotta go build one now
Awesome! I gotta get back to fixing mine after I finish the VDG, this video should make that easier.
Damn this is awesome wow

Hello, I would like to ask whether you need to tune the TC for the right resonant frequency or if it’s self tuning
Hey thanks for the video. Could you leave a link to the capacitors you used. I’m having a hard time finding them

Whats the value of the bleeding resistor?
where is the link for the tesla coil
