If you don't want your bubbler to get destroyed each time, reduce the gas volume inside the chamber by filling it to 80% and making it half as wide, then you'd have ~1/10th as much explosive force to deal with and 1/3 as much surface area for that force to get applied to. Using springs to press the top lid onto the gasket would also let it act as a pressure relief.
i like your idea and thank you for the suggestion! i ordered myself a 3d printer (arrives in 2 weeks) and plan on revamping my electrolysis cell and bubbler to make them nicer looking and more functional.
