I saw the Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom special editions in-store a few days after they were released...and I was horrified. I cannot describe to you how neon they are in person. They make no sense!
I prefer the Storygraph. No people getting pissy when it's just your opinion on a book. Also, I just read My Name Is Iris. And the book I will read next is You're Not Suppost to Die Tonight.
if you do ever switch over to storygraph there is a setting where you can transfer data from goodreads to storygraph! super helpful for getting over the fear of switching over book logs!
The only book out of the 6 you put up that I've read is She Who Became the Sun, so I'm only voting for that one. Let me tell you about She Who Became the Sun. 1) it is one of the best books I have EVER read, not just books I've read this year. I genuiunely so highly recommend it. I really think you'll like it 2) You said in your description of it that the fact it's a High Fantasy novel has been your main reason of intimidation. I'm here to ease your worries on that. I went to a book signing back in August for the sequel (He Who Drowned the World), and Shelley Parker Chan said explicitly said to the crowd that they don't consider it to be a fantasy novel AT ALL. They said that it's primarily a historical fiction, and that the reason it's listed under fantasy is that the publishers gave them 3 options for publication: Change the setting (to not Imperial China), Make it less critical of imperialism, or Add Magic. So, they added a magic system that literally DOES NOTHING. No impact on the plot whatsoever, but its addition got it sold under the fantasy genre. So, I'd say, when approaching She Who Became the Sun, look at it as a historical fiction set in Imperial China. Also, I know I mentioned a sequel and you didn't, but it is a duology, and He Who Drowned the World is already out. So if you read Became the Sun, the sequel is out, and that's the end, it's only the two books. Because I know series can inimidate you a bit.
I walked into my local Indigo earlier this week and was ACCOSTED by the new Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom covers. I had to leave the entire section because. The originals were literally perfect, I don’t know why they were changed to those monstrosities.
I have been using Storygraph for about a year or more along side with using Goodreads. 100% prefer Storygraph. Both apps have their pros and cons. For me, the charts motivate me and just in general make reaching the goals much more interesting. I love seeing the charts for format, languages, and moods. It just gives you a lot of insights of what you read. ❤
Hi! If you ever want to come to a great book fair I recommend you to come to Barcelona during april. On the 23rd, specifically, every year we celebrate Sant Jordi (Saint George) and it's a national thing in Catalonia. We exchange books and roses with loved ones and it's basically a huge national book fair. With authors signing books, little (and huge) book stands on the street, most traffic is cut off due to the streets being taken by bookstores... It's just magical!
*whispers* the reading year can start whenever you want. by fall i'm also bored and wanting a new challenge, plus i tend to get new books in december and have more time for reading... so now i run my reading year from december to november!
Yes do the StoryGraph it’s the best! Maybe not for community but for literally everything else it’s better than goodreads!!! Also I’m not really interested in the community aspect so it’s even more perfect for me!
2 things: 1. I HAVE THE SAME TEA!!! ❤ 2. I have both Storygraph and Goodreads bc I love the stats on storygraph but I love the community of Goodreads. I only updated them maybe 1-2 times a week so it’s not too overwhelming. Also storygraph has .25, .5 and .75 star options! 🥰 I love how it’s more accurate than Goodreads
I use storygraph just for the stats, so the only information I put in there is book format, dates read, and rating. I use only a few tags, like book club or reread, etc. It only takes me a few seconds to update and then I have year end stats. I've been using goodreads for a long time and will probably never stop, I write reviews there and also love that it keeps track on my Kindle highlights and notes.
It's much easier to find books on Goodreads, especially in other languages but I do love all the options available on Storygraph. Half star system is so much more precise and the mood visualisation is just amazing I vote for She Who Became the Sun and Babel I have just finished reading Lore Olympus, my current read is The Sculptor - yeah I got into graphic novels recently. But I'm also reading The Storm Crow.
I was interested in Storygraph, but turns out it's 98% books written in English. As a non-English speaker who reads a lot of local authors I'd have to add almost every book I read this year to Storygrapgh myself. And I'm just too lazy for that 😅 Last - Red tale by Wiktoria Korzeniewska Current- beautiful world where are you by Sally Rooney Next - Brom (graphic novel) by Unki Odyi
This series is very cozy and calming, it was so nice to watch :D I'm excited for your video on tackling the books that intimidate you, good luck! I vote for Lady Joker, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, and She Who Became the Sun. The first two sound like something you might really enjoy. I have She Who Became the Sun on my TBR, and I need some inspiration to pick it up 😂 Hope that all three will be great reads! As for the Last, Now, Next - the last book I finished was Isherwood's A Single Man; the portrayal of grief and the lasting presence of someone who isn't here anymore was immaculate. Currently I'm reading at least three books, including Mockingjay (reread, loved it), The Day of Fallen Night (enjoying it so far) and a biography of Krystyna Chojnowska-Liskiewicz, the first woman who yachted around the world alone. It's a Polish book that came out this year, and I'm really liking it so far even though I thought I hated biographies. And hopefully, my next read will be The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Haven't read it yet, but I want to before the movie :^ Thank you for the video and happy reading :D
I've decided I'm going to tackle the Read Around the World challenge starting next year. I plan to read at least one book from a different country each month until I've read at least one from every country. Clearly, that'll become just a part of my regular reading habit because it'd take, I think, 16 years to complete. But for now I'm finishing up my reads for Shorty September (just finished A Single Man by Christopher Isherwood--LOVED it) and planning for Occult Detective October.
Oh, and I vote for The Amazing Adventures, Lady Joker, and Babel. It's a hefty set of reads, and you might not get into Babel, but I feel like you'll enjoy the other two and be glad you read Babel.
Babel 100% I just finished it this week and as someone who doesn't like dark academia at all and put this book off for moths (after loving the poppy war and making it my whole personality) it's SO WORTH IT.
I tried Storygraph and I really didn't like it. Maybe I didn't stick it out long enough, but I immediately missed Goodreads, even though Goodreads is--as we all know--janky to look at and crashes at least once a day. 😆 The main draw argument in favour of Storygraph that I saw was that it isn't an Amazon product (which.. yes, is great!), but the free algorithm on Storygraph did not seem to be getting me at all and I couldn't see what any of my friends were reading, because none of them were there. Plus, most of the big ticket features you had to pay for, which I'm not interested in doing for what I was getting out of the free product and when they are things that Goodreads does for free (similar reads recommendations should be a basic feature, otherwise why am I here?!). Goodreads is old faithful, plus it has over 10 years of my reading history on it!
The 2 High Fantasy Books seems a good choice and Babel 💕 I love Fantasy, Sci-Fi and sometimes even History Books 😄 At the moment i read Master of War first Book The Blooding from David Gilman and really love it so far 💓
To your first question I would read Babel, Hell Bent, and She who became the sun. I just read Payback in Death, one of the books I am currently reading is Tress of the Emerald Sea, and The Wishing Game is next on my tbr.
Lady Joker, Babel and Hellbent HAMTARO BOOKMARK!!!!!I have not thought of that show in forever. I've been lucky in that I've mostly lived in walking distance of a library my whole life. Last book- Beyond The Wand Now Reading- Dark Room Etiquette Next Read- You, Again and Foxglove
as soon as i saw ugly book covers, I KNEW. i'm canadian and i'm so ashamed of indigo for these, although i did maybeeee get the if we were villains one which also does NOT fit the book but the colour combo is so soothing
I went to an Indigo bookstore while in Canada in March. Should have looked more closely at the book covers to see if they were different from US covers. What I’ll need to do next year is get more boxes to hold older books as I put more finished book on the shelves.
Last read: Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes- absolutely loved it 5⭐️ Current read: Seige and Storm by Leigh Bardugo as well as The Real Fake Fiance by Sara Jane Woodley (audiobook) Next read: The Brothers Hawthorne by Jennifer Lynn Barnes too - literally just bought it today 🤩 I will have to be disciplined to not start it tomorrow 😅
i love books before bed so much, it feels like a comfort podcast 🤍i sometimes get intimidated by long or high fantasy books too, but i usually end up loving it. one thing that helps me is to read them on kindle so that i don't really notice how much i have left 😆i vote the amazing adventures of kavalier & clay, she who became the sun and lady joker last read- the great gatsby ; current read- the brothers hawthorne ; next read- probably the last devil to die
My vote is "The Grace of King" by Ken Liu! I finished all the books in this series this year and it has become my favorite book series of all time. I wouldn't say the book is high fantasy though. There are gods in the story but Ken Liu doesn't focus much on them and they do not do much, in terms of plot-wise. It's more of a historical re-telling of the Chu-Han war in ancient China but it's not dry at all as Ken Liu's writing is beautiful and poetic without being ostentatious. The thing I love the most is the way he develops his characters, not just in this book but in the books that follow The Grace of Kings. I'm currently reading Ken Liu's "The Hidden Girl & Other Stories", the previous book I finished was "Mexican Gothic" and I'm planning to read "Greywaren" by Maggie Stiefvater next.
I resently celebrated my BD and now we're on vacation so the choice of what to read next has never been so dramatic.😆 But I think I'm gonna go with either _Yellowface_ by the brilliant Rebecca F. Kuang or _When You Call My Name_ by Tucker Shaw. Love your videos and cozy vibes, Jesse!🧡
I feel so much more cozier and relaxed! No idea what I'll be reading next, but today I finished Killing me by Michelle Gagnon and it was such a fun ride! Serial killers and LA is a good combo :)
My last read was Love in the Big City by Sang Young Park (loved it), current read is Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (rereading them all before the show starts), and my next read is Ink Blood Sister Scribe! Also, I vote She Who Became the Sun, Lady Joker, and Babel! I absolutely love these types of video btw, they're so cozy :)
Great Video Jesse and my last read was Amari and the Night Brothers and now I’m reading the sequel Amari and The Great Game and really enjoying it and as for the order of books 📚 The Superhero Book, Grace Like Kings and She Became A Star ⭐️ Have a Wonderful Day tomorrow and Happy Reading 📖😊
Definetly have goals for next years reading all ready 😂 trying to get more of my physical tbr read and buy less books! On the other hand I'm not really looking at new books coming out (other then series/authors I read) because I live in Finland so it's hard to get my hands on a lot of new publications
My last read was "Circe" by Madeline Miller, Current read is "The Brothers Hawthorne" by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and my next read is "A good girls guide to murder" by Holly Jackson (book club book) and "Crescent City" by Sarah J Maas....
Yes, all the cozy vibes! I hands down prefer Storygraph over Goodreads. I have been using it for over a year now and will never go back. I vote for The Amazing Adventures, The Grace of Kings, and Babel. Last book I read was the Undertaking of Hart & Mercy (loved it), I'm currently reading The Ten Thousands Doors of January, and I have no idea what I'm reading next. lol
I'm a fantasy girl so my picks are The Grace of Kings, She who became the sun (so good, I can't wait to read the sequel), and also Babel (fantastic book too)
Last: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane by Diane Setterfield Now: The Beguiled Thomas Cullinan Next: I haven't decided yet, but perhaps something spooky for fall 👻 You should try Hell Bent, it has a much different feel than Ninth House!
I like the casual, loose format of your Books before Bed. It makes for easy listening. I am intimidated by Babel too. It's been on my TBR for a while now. I enjoyed Lady Joker when I read a few years back, but it tested my patience. My Last Now Next books are: Last - The Summer Hikaru Died Vol 1; Now is "Hamnet" by Maggie O'Farrell; and Next is Hell's Paradise - Jigokuraku, Vol 4. I wouldn't have read "Hikaru" if you hadn't mentioned in vid over the summer; it was very good.
It's been three weeks since this uploaded but just in case you're still taking votes--my votes are Babel, Hell Bent, and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. Also, as a Canadian, I did come across those awful special edition covers during my last trip to Indigo about a week ago. I didn't know about them at the time so when I saw them I gagged a little. They're really that ugly!! I can't imagine why we need these awful covers when the originals are already so perfect!! My Last-Now-Next: Last: Roadside Picnic Now: Fahrenheit 451 Next: Interview with the Vampire Thanks for this episode of Books Before Bed!! I really enjoy this series, looking forward to the next ❤️
I'm definitely planning 2024 reading! But trying to stick to Winter 2024 only. I tend to plan seasonally, but I'm very bad at reading series so I'm planning a couple series I want to complete in 2024
I agree with you about GR vs. SG - Goodreads just has more functionality that I like at this point in time, but I like how SG gets to know your taste and can make good recs (and how it's not GR). And YES I'm already planning for next year, which is hilarious considering I'm a consummate mood reader. I'm kidding myself. My goal is to make a list of The Big Twelve books I absolutely have to finish next year, and then read one per month. But I already have 14 books on the list. 🤦♀ AND I just realized I want to add Kavalier & Clay to it because I love Chabon's work and it's been sitting on my shelf for at least 2 years. I'm dooooomed.
I love these videos Jesse! My last, current, and next are: Last =The Whispering Trees by J.A. White Current = Strange New World by Rachel Vincent & re-reading The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan Next = maybe The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan or some other random book. I tend to pick whatever book I feel like reading in the moment, rather than planning ahead :)
On the GoodReads vs Storygraph thing -- I love the idea of Storygraph, but definetely missing the community aspect, and tbh while I love the half stars, the rest of the info is actually too in depth. It feels like a chore to fill out each time. Some people do like that level of depth, and I thought I did at first, but in practicality it's too much
You are such a comforting presence on this platform 🥰 your videos always feel cozy, but especially these ones. PS. You were way too nice about those horrendous "special edition" covers. If I was the author of any of those books, I would sue. Idk who, but I would. Those covers disgust me. 😂
That happened with Monstrous for me as well!! I had to go in and change it🤣 Also, I totally agree with you on the whole Goodreads vs Storygraph debacle🙃
My votes are for: 1. She Who Became the Sun 2. The Grace of Kings 3. Lady Joker I haven’t read any of them but they all sound intriguing. You pick up what your heart desires though 😊
I got a lot of lovely memories while you talked about the book fairs and book mobiles... I used to go to them a lot bot it's slacking atm, need to get back to it!
Always love the cozy mood! Keep it going Jesse. Last: The Wolfen by Whitley Strieber Now: The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson Next: 101 Dalmatians by Dodie Smith
if you think these are bad, there are indigo 25th anniversary editions in hardcover for the kite runner, life of pi, evelyn hugo and others and they're these tiny cheap hardcovers that look like BAD CHILDREN'S BOOKS
I switched over from Good reads to Story graph because GR just became overwhelming to me whereas story graph is more chill. I really need to step up my updating on finishing books though. My next read will be Dark Harvest by Norman Partridge since my friends have been loving the film adaptation and I want to finish it while we're still in October.
I saw that If We We Villains in Indigo (yes, it is Canadian). It’s not better in person. I was so confused by it. Last was House in the Cerulean Sea, I needed some light fluffy goodness. Currently reading What Moves the Dead, and next will likely be Swimming in the Dark.
”Lady Joker" is a good choice. It is an interesting book containing various issues that lurk in Japanese society. If you like social stories, you'll enjoy this book even if you're not familiar with mysteries. However, it has quite a lot of characters and a complicated structure, so I think you should read volumes 1 and 2 without a gap between them if possible.📚✨
Hey Jesse, long time watcher. Current read is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, last was Goblet of Fire, next if Half Blood Prince. Reading through the rest of the series for the first time. Only read the first 3 when I was 12 and that’s as far as I ever got.
My last read was The Measure by Nikki Erlick. I feel you might like this one because there is an element of death and other heavy topics but in a light-ish setting. My current reads are "A River Enchanted" and "The Inheritance Games." My next read will likely be "The Hawthorne Legacy," book 2 of The Inheritance Games series.
I use both Goodreads and Storygraph. Storygraph has all the stats during the whole year, which I love and it's easier to switch editions in the app (with android you can't switch editions on the gr app :( ) But I only update goodreads on books I want to read and the community is bigger, like you mentioned 😁
I’d love to see a review and hear your thoughts on Babel and the amazing adventures of Kavalier & Klay, as I too have these on my tbr and keep putting off reading them!
I really like story graph because of how clean the layout is. If there are people that you follow you can see if they've read a certain book and what their rating was. I would love for you to read 1. Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay 2. Lady Joker 3. Babel Also my last read was Big Swiss, my current read is The Secret History and my next read is (hopefully) Before You Say Goodbye (BTCGC #4)
My last read was the Screw Tape Letters by CS Lewis, my current read is Storm Front by Jim Butcher and Count of Monte Chisto by Alexander Dumas, my next read is Before They are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie,
My last read was a reread, Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell (I read it every Autumn.) My current read is Scythe, and my next read is probably Thunderhead, but I'm such a mood reader so you never know with me.
Last read was Unseelie by Ivelisse Housman, Currently reading Thieve's Gambit by Kayvion Lewis, Next will be We Are Not Free by Traci Chee (and these books before bed are my favorites to watch too)
My last read was These Violent Delights by Micah Nemerever. I read a lot of books at once and I am not going to list all the books I am currently reading, but today I am focused on Haunted House Short Stories. I am most likely going to pick up Fairy Poems next, which is part of the everyman's library pocket poets
My vote is for The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Babel, and She Who Became the Sun. I read The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay in high school, and I thought it was pretty good!
Last: Icebreaker (was BookTube Miss for me) Currently: Bronwick Hall Next: The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea I like Goodreads. Makes me feel like I acomplished something when I can hit the "Read" button😅 Greetings from Germany😊
Hey Jesse, my picks are Babel and honestly that book is on the TBR as well, She Who Became The Sun which honestly I might pick up that book for me, and The Amazing Adventures ❤ my last book I read was The Little Prince I absolutely loved it, my book that I’m currently is a very sensitive topic it’s about the 9/11 attacks and there are 10 true stories told from different people, and the book I wanna read next I would have would either be Black Beauty, or the last book in the One Of Us Is Lying trilogy ❤
Yeah, there's some sort of error on Goodreads that's been adding Monstress Vol.1 at later dates and not letting you edit it. (I have two extra entries of it.) All I got from support was "Yeah, we know about it." Haven't tried Storygraph because I have Goodreads and Librarything already and adding all my books to a third one, yeah, not going to happen. (LT has half stars and a better ability to get the book to reflect the copy you own, rather than closest one GR has.) The closest I've been to thinking about next year's reading is preordering two books because of a B&N coupon.
The last book I read was The Whispering Skull by Jonathan Stroud and I'm currently reading Murder for the Modern Girl by Kendall Kulper AND Gallant by VE Schwab. I'm a severe mood reader so I have no idea what I'll be reading next 😂
It’s Fall so Books Before Bed is even more cozy now.

Canadian here. Can confirm the six of crows/crooked kingdom covers are even uglier in person. Saw them in Indigo and had to do a double take
OH NOOOO 🥴🥴🥴
The only book out of the 6 you put up that I've read is She Who Became the Sun, so I'm only voting for that one.
Let me tell you about She Who Became the Sun.
1) it is one of the best books I have EVER read, not just books I've read this year. I genuiunely so highly recommend it. I really think you'll like it

14:49 Hamtaro! My sister loved it so much in childhood and watched it together sometimes! So nostalgic!💕
Yup, Saw them in store today. I asked and it’s because they are in top selling lists. And no, not better in person lol 2:57 😅
It's much easier to find books on Goodreads, especially in other languages but I do love all the options available on Storygraph. Half star system is so much more precise and the mood visualisation is just amazing

I have just finished reading Lore Olympus, my current read is The Sculptor - yeah I got into graphic novels recently. But I'm also reading The Storm Crow.
Ooh I plan to read Masters of Death too! I’m currently not reading anything but I just finished Hooky and it was so good!!!
I’m a middle school teacher and all my kiddos know that my favorite time of the year is when the Scholastic Book Fair travels through!
I was interested in Storygraph, but turns out it's 98% books written in English. As a non-English speaker who reads a lot of local authors I'd have to add almost every book I read this year to Storygrapgh myself. And I'm just too lazy for that 😅

The Amazing Adventures of Cavalier and Clay, Babel, and Hell Bent. Needed a chill video after a long week at uni!
I started working at a school this year, they’re doing the scholastic book fair and I’m so pumped 🤩🥰🫶🏻🙌🏻
Love the books before bed series!
I went to an Indigo bookstore while in Canada in March. Should have looked more closely at the book covers to see if they were different from US covers.
What I’ll need to do next year is get more boxes to hold older books as I put more finished book on the shelves.
Last read: Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes- absolutely loved it 5⭐️
Current read: Seige and Storm by Leigh Bardugo as well as The Real Fake Fiance by Sara Jane Woodley (audiobook)
Next read: The Brothers Hawthorne by Jennifer Lynn Barnes too - literally just bought it today 🤩 I will have to be disciplined to not start it tomorrow 😅
i love books before bed so much, it feels like a comfort podcast 🤍i sometimes get intimidated by long or high fantasy books too, but i usually end up loving it. one thing that helps me is to read them on kindle so that i don't really notice how much i have left 😆i vote the amazing adventures of kavalier & clay, she who became the sun and lady joker
last read- the great gatsby ; current read- the brothers hawthorne ; next read- probably the last devil to die
I love this series so much
My vote is "The Grace of King" by Ken Liu!
Last Read: Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion Vol. 4, Current Read: The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake, and Next Read: Anne of Avonlea
I use both goodreads and storygraph but I also see it as a reward to update everytime I start or finish a book.
I resently celebrated my BD and now we're on vacation so the choice of what to read next has never been so dramatic.😆
But I think I'm gonna go with either _Yellowface_ by the brilliant Rebecca F. Kuang or _When You Call My Name_ by Tucker Shaw.
Love your videos and cozy vibes, Jesse!🧡
I hope you're doing well!! You should do a rate your bookcase video that'd be great.
Yess! I am excited to read Ink Blood Sister Scribe! Sounds so good!
I love this series, it comforts me so so much ✨
Jesse the best company 💜
Yeah, Indigo (who bought Chapters and Coles) is Canadian. They do the same uniform look for classics every few years, I think.
I feel you. I already have a list of series that i need to read next year.😅
My last read was "Circe" by Madeline Miller, Current read is "The Brothers Hawthorne" by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and my next read is "A good girls guide to murder" by Holly Jackson (book club book) and "Crescent City" by Sarah J Maas....
omg i'm reading the brothers hawthorne too!! i'm loving it so much
@@missingyouale I finished it this morning, I am excited for the 5th book next year 😊
@@kategrossi8717 fr so glad we're getting a lot of content!!
Last read: Fledgling by Octavia Bulter
Current read: The Barefoot Woman by Scholastique
Next read: The Vanishing Pool by Tananrive Due
Yes, all the cozy vibes! I hands down prefer Storygraph over Goodreads. I have been using it for over a year now and will never go back. I vote for The Amazing Adventures, The Grace of Kings, and Babel. Last book I read was the Undertaking of Hart & Mercy (loved it), I'm currently reading The Ten Thousands Doors of January, and I have no idea what I'm reading next. lol
I'm a fantasy girl so my picks are The Grace of Kings, She who became the sun (so good, I can't wait to read the sequel), and also Babel (fantastic book too)
Your videos always makes me happy ☺️
Last: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane by Diane Setterfield
Now: The Beguiled Thomas Cullinan
Next: I haven't decided yet, but perhaps something spooky for fall 👻
You should try Hell Bent, it has a much different feel than Ninth House!
Thank you! That’s what I like about it too. Very chill. Good to know in regards to lady joker!
My Last-Now-Next:
Last: Roadside Picnic
Now: Fahrenheit 451
Next: Interview with the Vampire
Thanks for this episode of Books Before Bed!!
My last, current, and next are:
Last =The Whispering Trees by J.A. White
Current = Strange New World by Rachel Vincent & re-reading The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
Next = maybe The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan or some other random book.
My votes are for:
1. She Who Became the Sun
2. The Grace of Kings
3. Lady Joker
I haven’t read any of them but they all sound intriguing. You pick up what your heart desires though 😊
My tbr has become so undecicive to the point that I have a calendar specifically for my tbr and an online random wheel to determine my next read.
i love that!
I got a lot of lovely memories while you talked about the book fairs and book mobiles... I used to go to them a lot bot it's slacking atm, need to get back to it!
amazing adventures of cavalier and clay, the grace of kings and babel! ☺
Recently read The Queen Of Nothing- currently rereading Where Our Oceans Meet and The Fourth Wing- reading The Secret History next!!
Always love the cozy mood! Keep it going Jesse.
Last: The Wolfen by Whitley Strieber
Now: The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson
Next: 101 Dalmatians by Dodie Smith
if you think these are bad, there are indigo 25th anniversary editions in hardcover for the kite runner, life of pi, evelyn hugo and others and they're these tiny cheap hardcovers that look like BAD CHILDREN'S BOOKS
woof I had to look those up and they are definitely giving 1980s children's library books
I give my vote to 'She Who Became The Sun' :D Read it myself not too long ago and ended up loving it
”Lady Joker" is a good choice.
I love your sweater!!! ❤❤❤
The last book i read was Winter's Heart by Robert Jordan book 9 in WOT now Assistant to the Villain Next A Torch Against the Night
Last: The Poppy War (just received book 2 going to start soon)
Now: The Secret Garden (just for some nostalgia)
Next: The Silent Patient
Indigo is Canada's version of Books and Noble..... they are the same overhead company just called different names
I love books before bed!!😊
The Grace of Kings, She Who Became the Sun, and Babel are my votes
I use both Goodreads and Storygraph. Storygraph has all the stats during the whole year, which I love and it's easier to switch editions in the app (with android you can't switch editions on the gr app :( )
But I only update goodreads on books I want to read and the community is bigger, like you mentioned 😁
I would love for you to read
1. Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay
2. Lady Joker
3. Babel
Also my last read was Big Swiss, my current read is The Secret History and my next read is (hopefully) Before You Say Goodbye (BTCGC #4)
Last read: Seven Year Slip
Current Read: The Dragons Promise
Next Read: Empire of Storms (ik i'm so behind on finishing this series!)
My top for your next read is Babel!
Read babel first I heard it’s really amazing and then grace of kings and lady joker looks good too
My vote is for The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Babel, and She Who Became the Sun. I read The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay in high school, and I thought it was pretty good!
I vote for Amazing adventures of Kavalier and Clay (this book intimidates me too), The Grace of Kings and Lady Joker.
Last: Icebreaker (was BookTube Miss for me)
Currently: Bronwick Hall
Next: The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea
I like Goodreads. Makes me feel like I acomplished something when I can hit the "Read" button😅
Greetings from Germany😊
My last read was the pirate kings daughter and my current read is a horrible slump😢 Love these videos so so much❤
Hey Jesse, my picks are Babel and honestly that book is on the TBR as well, She Who Became The Sun which honestly I might pick up that book for me, and The Amazing Adventures ❤ my last book I read was The Little Prince I absolutely loved it, my book that I’m currently is a very sensitive topic it’s about the 9/11 attacks and there are 10 true stories told from different people, and the book I wanna read next I would have would either be Black Beauty, or the last book in the One Of Us Is Lying trilogy ❤
Yeah, there's some sort of error on Goodreads that's been adding Monstress Vol.1 at later dates and not letting you edit it. (I have two extra entries of it.) All I got from support was "Yeah, we know about it."
Haven't tried Storygraph because I have Goodreads and Librarything already and adding all my books to a third one, yeah, not going to happen. (LT has half stars and a better ability to get the book to reflect the copy you own, rather than closest one GR has.)
The closest I've been to thinking about next year's reading is preordering two books because of a B&N coupon.
The last book I read was The Whispering Skull by Jonathan Stroud and I'm currently reading Murder for the Modern Girl by Kendall Kulper AND Gallant by VE Schwab. I'm a severe mood reader so I have no idea what I'll be reading next 😂
