I ordered a Freya S and vidar. So far, fed ex has sent them out for delivery in Ohio and Connecticut. I live in Vermont. WTF??? Fed ex needs to drug screen better.. I've no doubt the Freya +. is great, but I'm a solid state guy. If the freya S imposes something undesirable, it will get sent back.
Schiit is USA enough for me. I also like buying from Emotiva. Build great products at good prices, tell the truth and my money will continue to beat a path to your door. The snarky humor does not hurt either. The personal audio industry needed this in a big way. Stay safe and keep going team Schiit.
Your products might be very good, but your customer service, or lack thereof is not. I emailed your 'contact us' page with questions, as I'm a neewbie and wasn't sure which to buy for my specific needs. Instead of adressing any of my questions, Daniel sent a link to your products page, which I had already seen and did nothing to help me out. I then emailed back 4 or 5 specific questions on 2 different amp/dacs, trying to decide what to buy and never heard from Schiit again. You don't take phone calls and the emails go unanswered. This is not the kind of customer support that makes a potential customer confident about your company .
I vote for a higher-end version of Loki. I had a Loki for a while, but once I added Bifrost and Freya+, I ended up selling it because I’m running everything balanced in my system now. So, I’d love to see a Loki with balanced in/outs, and I’d love remote control of the EQ settings. Normally the only thing I care about on a remote for my system is volume control, but the ability to make subtle EQ changes from my listening position would be amazing. And, a single remote button to return all EQ ranges back to zero (or whatever the neutral position is) would be pretty sweet. A remote button for the bypass is important too, but the ability to reset all ranges with a single button would be make it easy to start with a clean slate (again from my listening position) for a given album before I start making subtle tweaks. If not the auto reset, maybe lights on the unit’s EQ knobs so I could see their positions from my listening position. The markings on the current Loki are so subtle that I couldn’t see them unless I walked over to the unit. I don’t mind getting up, it’s just that hearing the EQ changes from my listening position as I make them is key. Keep up the great work Schiit. I’m a big fan!
I finally got the Loki I was asking for!! It’s been a while since I’ve checked their product offering and just saw the Loki Max on their site. I recently bought the Lokius for my tiny house, which has a much smaller system (smaller everything!!), but maybe one day I can convince my wife that the Loki Max is a justified spend for our cabin, where my proper sound system lives :)
I use my SYS as a channel reverse device in addition to a Volume control. The 2 outputs of my preamp go into the 2 inputs of the SYS, one of them backwards, then the switch on the front of the SYS will reverse the channels when pushed in. I also do this on the Modius which has 2 outputs.
What I enjoy about Schiit is their products available to us on a budget ie. fixed income. Have SYS will buy Loki, really want to try the Sol!!! California Cool=Schiit
I'd be interested in a panel speaker that can still sound good when its only about a foot from the wall, thank you for anything that you can do to make this happen :-)
Wow I had thought Schiit Audio was a NorCal company. But it is in my old stomping grounds. To think I had to hear about them from a Brit living in Berlin thanks for the Q and A
Balanced Loki with the asguard/modius/jotunheim footprint! I'll buy it in silver on day one. I'd also like to see the Saga S back as I missed that and the Freya S is way out of reach/need
Hello I was hoping you could help. I want to buy a Samsung tablet to store my music files. The tablet will only be used with my home stereo system to stream music of my own files. Can I run this android tablet through a dac? How would I hook it up? Would the tablet have to have a digital out? Is this a good question? I use my phone to play music on my home system My home system is a Adcom 555ll amp GTP400 preamp Heresy ll speakers. Its 30 years old but plays like I bought it yesterday. So instead of it playing off my phone ...I thought of a android tablet. Is this possible to run tablet through a dac?
@@herrtrigger7220 whether completely new or improved, I wonder how much improvement could Jason achieve doubling the retail price. By the way, I got my Freya+ delivered yesterday and it is clear improvement over my old Freya. I sounds brighter/sharper though - maybe this is about still breaking in. The point is that preamps tend to be terribly expensive gear. If you want to replace Freya and have clear improvement you need to spend 4-5 times more. Schiit should be able to do something about it.
"How has COVID affected Schiit in general?" It's really messing Schiit up, man. Oh, no, I've been pronouncing Vali improperly. Forget the transport and the gadget. You should design a Schiit wall wart. The Schiitwart!
Hi I grew up with TV and other stuff made in America. We grew up watching mostly programs made in Hollywood. It is not surprising that the country I grew up with was inundated by things made in America, probably 75%. For one the Philippines was an ally. Now that I'm 62 things have changed. America has gone strictly business and the Philippines has remained a consumer country. As a result no American products can be seen in the consumer world at least here in the Philippines. The isolation from anything American is almost complete. The youth has lost recognition of anything American by default. That was not a choice. American products are out of reach of the Filipinos. We would have enjoyed Schiit products but nothing is sold here. Such is a sad fate of the Filipino-American friendship. Many products that are bank friendly like Schiit are not around. Tangible things make firm reach, more so than the intangibles
Gain setting on freya preamp for passive can dangerous if set at a higher level when switching to tubes. Design is screwed up on unit, passive requires very high setting to get sound. BE careful. Product can be dangerous to health. Surprised it can be sold to consumer. Do not use for home theater, scary shit.
I would love if Tekton and Schiit did a collaboration, two American companies trying to bring HIFI that punches way above thier price point.

I have Emotiva Pre amp UMC 200 and will be adding a Vidar or Aegir shortly.
Yup, after a certain point you're just splitting hairs.

A Loki XL - YES PLEASE!
Add: With dual outputs like my Bifrost 2.

I would love a balanced Loki too, but right now they just recently released a 4 knob Loki so I guess we won't see one in the near future at least :(
YES, I have a Jotunheim and a Modius, and software EQ only helps when using a PC as a source. I have other shit plugged in too!
You got it- Lokius is awesome.

Freya+ is amazing, I love mine, glad it won the thunderdome!! Now, will you please make a matching tube power amp? :-)
Yes balanced loki please!
I realize I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Fletcher Jax Try Flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
The Freya S sounds superb! Glad I bought it before discontinued.
Thanks for the videos! I'd like to see an updated Vidar that's stable at 4ohm mono with a 12v trigger
Would like to see a nice home tube amp...
Any chance you putting out a subwoofer output to use with an older amp?
LRS plus Vidar ! Same here but with a Parasound P5 preamp.
A passive preamp with a remote would be fantastic.
If you use one of their preamps in bypass mode, then you will effectively have passive preamp with a remote.
@@S.G.N.713 THanks a lot, yes it looks like it by reading their website, it is a great news!

Make a line of Made in USA speakers, i'm onboard for some Bookshelves.
One more vote for Really Big Crazy Loki !
I enjoy having a Loki in my office headphone setup. I'd love one for home.
I ordered a Asgard 3 with the multidac it took 2 weeks to get it shipped (it was supposed to ship on 2/15/2021). I am sure it will be worth the wait.

Make a balanced Loki and I will sell my kids and send you the cheque.

That is not possible.

it would be super cool if you added a new top of the line preamp, superior to Freya+, double the price, something that would pair with Ygdrasil.
Jason, if you doubled the budget for preamp vs Freya+, how big would be the expected sound improvement?
You mean make Freya+ using parts twice as expensive or make a new pre amp that costs twice as much as Freya+? Kind of ambiguous there bruh.
@@herrtrigger7220 whether completely new or improved, I wonder how much improvement could Jason achieve doubling the retail price.
