Just bought one im 5'2" and see no issues with the dashboard. I see clearly over the hood. It looks like a wide open space grest to see. I traded in my 2016 fusion. It drives as smooth as it did. So far I'm impressed. The radio rocks out it sounds great to me with 12 speakers. Bottom line only a car will replace cars.
It's a car. Practical, 2 rows, storage space, and sits higher than an Outback (definitely a car) but I agree it's a car. So is the Escape. I like the Edge better than the Escape, and I could afford a lightly used Edge. The Bronco range are SUVs, but not really for me; I like having a car and wouldn't normally buy an SUV, but the Edge styling does it for me. I came to the Edge from a 2010 Fusion that I'm in the process of selling; I will miss the Fusion.
Maybe the new ones are different, but I drove a 2023 yesterday and I could not hear the engine at all. In fact, I was stunned to find out later that it's a 4 cylinder considering the smoothness and power it had.
I think the 2019 Ford Edge ST is a much better buy. It has all the features if the titanium, plus a 6 clylinder twin Turbo and a towing package. Great exceleration and a beautiful blue exteria.
I test drove both when looking for a used 19 or 20 Edge. I'm not sad about going with the Edge Titanium - it's basically what an Edge ST-Line 250 now is. I'm not a lead-foot and the Titanium is better for my driving, which is mostly long trips and my long commute. One thing, it's quiet. It's even quiet outside. If you want to hear the engine, this won't do it. With the audio system on at any volume, the engine is almost inaudible, so I keep the tach display visible to see what's going on. But it rides nicely while staying somewhat connected, and it will do what I need.
U absolutely nailed it with feeling the disconnect from the driver seat to the front of the car. I just bought this same car monday in silver and it throws me off so bad when trying to park etc. makes me feel like I'm huge and I get nervous when trying to park etc.
If the adaptive cruise control is anything like the one on my 2018 Edge Titanium, you need to set the follow distance at 3 or 4 bars, preferably 4 if you want smoother braking in traffic. Anything less will be a very jerky experience guaranteed. That being said, even at 3 and 4 bars out, you create such a safe follow distance that other people constantly get in front of you because too many people sit 1 to 2 car lengths behind other cars. This sadly, means that the car will still be applying the brakes harder than you’d like because it needs to create that separation, especially if the person really leaves no room between their car and yours. The only thing that will solve that is changing the way everyone else drives which won’t ever happen.
I actually really like my edge. The only thing I don't like is the disconnect from the driver seat to the nose of the car. I think it looks so much better than the others and I love the heated and cooled seats and the tailgate etc. I don't know how to use the adaptive cruise control or lane assist yet. Could u help me?
Glad to hear that. I just bought a used Edge but had really wanted to find a lower mileage Flex but there aren’t many for sale that haven’t been in accidents or had multiple owners. The car I’m replacing is a Taurus X with the 3.5 6cyl which was very reliable and easy to service (except the spark plugs were a little complicated to change). I am hoping for a similar experience with the Edge (same 3.5 engine).
I have trouble driving with the windows down on this car. It gets a harmonic "flutter" inside that hurts your head and ears. It eats brakes. Rears were grinding at 20k miles. The horse power rating has to be wrong. It really struggles with a trailer. Ford 7.3 was 180 ish HP. No way this is 250hp.
I have this exact car in the same color. The engine sounds so poorly due to the high pressure fuel pump system. It’s not necessarily the engine note. The high pressure fuel pump volume varies with engine load. The same exact engine on a few year older model sounds noticeably better.
I'm looking to buy one of these from a Car Rental place its selling for under 21000 dollars for a 2018 its original price was 35,000, not bad for a vehicle with 46,000 miles on it, I think time actually is what does damage to cars like rust and plastic breaking down from the environment
I would reconsider buying a car from a rental agency. Those cars are used and abused. At some point they have to go. Hard driving does the most damage to a car in its first few years; there's a video where a ford tech changes the fluid in a part of the AWD system in a 2019 Explorer with only 30000 miles, and the magnetic drain plug already has quite a bit of metal on it, showing it has already had a hard life.
Have you seen an Escalade or Tahoe. Lol. We drive HUGE cars in America. Forget an Escalade have you seen the new EV Hummer. Gigantic. Don't forget the southerners, we LOVE trucks with lift kits!
I've had 2008 2011 now 2014 edge all v6 Never dies & abuse it like its a mustang suv, But now the new ones are 4 cyl turbo ughhhh, can see nothing but head achs a-head
The audio is seriously messed up. The edge has active noise cancellation and maybe your phone is trying to filter out road noise? End result is unwatchable.
Wow couldn't feel more opposite. The last style with tail light bar and the front end was a million times sharper looking than this thing that also still has a bit of an eggy shape. Honestly saw one today coming towards me but didn't know what it was before I thought, man that's ugly. Feel horrible about it because I love Edges but these are way less cool looking and far more uninteresting than the last design.
I just bought a Ford Edge ST 2022 bought because advertised tech, overall looks, once I got it and tested it indeed the adaptive cruise control is AWFUL the worst, cannot the used safely, Lousy Park Assist, visibility not good, outdated interior. Feels super heavy. Good about it...it's quiet, lots of room, wireless Android Auto ... but I'll sell it real soon
Hahaha. this review is totally off the credit. bro you better drive your suburu than ford. its not technical review that any part you dont like is ugly and vice versa
You must be crazy talk about the flex it is the most ugliest car in the world it just a box like a cooler box dude you are so off track focus on the edge I need to see the interior you driving the whole time and talking no one got a chance to see anything
Due to labor negotiations with Unifor, the union in the Canadian plant that builds the Edge; the union wants to control and limit the number of models built in a certain plant, and Ford wants to build new electric SUV models in its Oakwood Ontario plant.
@@pooh4519 No, he just likes the Murano. Judging by the number I see on roads, he's one of the few. but I can respect buying something different just to be different.
Love this test drive and showing us what a Ford Titanium is compared to a regular Ford Edge. This one's very nice

I don't care about all that stupid technology crap I just hope it runs well and is inexpensive to maintain

I can't figure out how to use my adaptive cruise control or lane assist. I just bought a 2019 Ford edge titanium Monday. Any tips?
sounded like Charlie Browns teacher after he got into the vehicle... couldnt hang. redo and i will watch!!
Lol no.
The comment on the future of "cars" and crossovers and suvs aged as well as sushi left in the trunk for a week
Front wheel drive or all wheel or 4 wheel?
Also since you said wireless charging, would that fit my iPhone X s max? To wireless charge
Hey I test drove several of these yesterday and the wireless charging pad fit my XS Max with an otterbox defender on it!

I see the newer edge, they are nice nice and easy to do service work. The service work for the flex is a pain in the ass.

Its so funny that you call this a crossover, whilst we in europe call this a big suv😂

Thanks for the review. Looking to get one used right now and was wondering, does it have dual climate control?
Yes it does
The audio is seriously messed up. The edge has active noise cancellation and maybe your phone is trying to filter out road noise? End result is unwatchable.
Why are you still showing this video that's almost four years old.
Inside audio made this unwatchable.
hey francis, you forgot the most important part of reviewing any vehicle, THE PRICE.
@nicholas marinelli I believe he mentioned the price at 2:07

They made the truck ugly with that front design and hideous grill. Second generation looked way classier and sophisticated.

What mpg are you getting from the XC90 as a comparison with this vehicle which you said gave 22.7 mpg
Good question. I’m getting 20-21. Though the XC gives up a few hundred pounds to the Edge. So it’s right on point if the weights were the same.
What do you mean by gives up a few hundred pounds, which one is heaviest?
It must be an American way of speech.
It’s an idiom yes. The XC is a full 350-400 pounds heavier than the edge. That alone would make up the MPG discrepancy of 1-2.

i feel like its nice and its good but my opinions
What’s the size difference from the escape to edge
the escape is smaller
Microphone has too much base. Hard to listen to
Ford is axing the edge as well 😔
