Great story! Two things popped into my head simultaneously: From Star Trek, Spock saying 'The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few", and "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." Why is it that some people can't think 🤔 collectively and do what's best for the greater good? In so many situations like yours, the "squeaky wheels" ruins things for the majority by being loud and agressively willful. Unfortunately, by catering to these people, it makes them worse: they learn that they can get their way by being "squeaky"😕!

Just like toddlers having tantrums, the way I see it. If you give in at that point in order to stop the screaming, they learn that this is the way to get what they want. That attitude, unfortunately, can continue into adulthood, causing these disruptive behaviors. When I see people acting that way, I always think of overgrown and overly indulged toddlers.
Other things come into play too, of course: some people don't adapt well to changes, and are unable to refocus quickly. A different flight route, at that point, is a disaster of epic proportions. It would be nice if they could handle it quietly, but that's usually not the case.
And then, some people are entitled jerks. No cure for that.

@@marinam.2293 Hi Marina 😉. I hope you are doing well! You are absolutely correct! My other thought was about toddlers and tantrums as well. Constantly indulging in temper tantrums will continue into adult life. As for cures for being a jerk, we can only hope there's one; it would certainly cure alot of the world's ills, wouldn't it?

Totally agree! It’s unfortunate that the “squeaky wheels” get empowered by getting their way.

It sure would! 😊 But as we all know, this is not a perfect world. I can't count the number of times I've encountered clueless, rude people in parking lots who argue about my right to use a handicapped placard. (My letter to Miss Manners on this subject was actually published a few months back, my claim to fame! 😄)
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, Martha!

Speak it Doc. When we forget that we are one in parts maybe the world can make it. If we all just do our part.

I'm happy you was able to enjoy yourself.
I myself ran into an entitled bunch of Umm I can't even call them humans.
Anyway that was my thought it's about all of us.
May God continues to bless you my friend.
