- HOW TO CREATE A BELIEVABLE STORY FOR YOUR MERMAID CHARACTER 🌊✨ Create depth and add life to your mermaid or merman character by writing a unique and well thought out story. In this video, we will be talking all about WHAT you need to include in your mersona's story to ensure that it is as believable as possible. ALSO... we will discuss a few things that are ESSENTIAL to include in your story. So get your paper and pencil ready. We are about to draft up something magical!

I said that my mermaid has a wife and someone in the community told me, “Relationship status seems superfluous to me...regardless of orientation.” (Rude tone.) I told her that I wanted a positive gay role model growing up.
I'm sorry that someone came out and said that to you. :( That really wasn't very nice of them. Don't take the comment to heart. Everyone is different and has different beliefs. Perhaps that person does not support same sex relationships, or maybe that person was recently divorced or experienced a very negative relationship? This is a reflection of their beliefs experiences and personal views. Don't let it disrupt how you do what you do ♥
Question/video suggestion I guess: something I see losely tossed around is the idea of mermaid types or kinds, like you mention in the video (sirens, selkie, etc) How are these distinguished? Tail shape? Color? Is it just something you pick for yourself?
I have a bit of a Mer- Siren story ... yet I need to perfect it ! The other day I was practicing swimming at the gym in my fabric tail and a older woman started asking me a lot of questions... “why do you do this “? Was one that stumped me ....duh it’s fun and it’s who I am ... I’m a mermaid- Siren have been all my life ! She just looked at me and smiled 🧜🏻♀️it’s what I do
Oh, that's so cute! At my area fins are not allowed, so nobody has ever seen me in my tail. I feel pretty nervous about looks I might get, because I am not a child and people might find it weird, but your story gives me hope😊
Lucy Lessly try and find a place where it’s ok to to swim in your tail! There’s times at my gym when hardly anyone is there! That’s a great time to swim without judgement! But guess what who cares what anyone else thinks! Be Mermazing! Unfortunately my gym is closed due to the virus scare so I’m hoping to find a private pool or something or swim in the ocean but it’s sooo cool still!

Thank you so much for this video, I'm getting into mermaiding and I loved the thought of a Naiad and rolled with it. It gave me so much inspiration for my Mersona story where across the years of ancient times where my mersona (name is still undecided) is from, the ocean around their city were protected by 3 Naiads who all fell in love and had children. Because Naiad's are technically minor goddesses I went with the idea that someone higher up ordered them to protect other areas and so they disappeared but their children inherited their blood and although very rare as in one or two every hundred years, some of the children with the Naiad's blood would be born with the form of the Naiad (which came about because my mersona look if I ever can afford a custom tale is based of a butterfly betta fish and they're gorgeous) and very watered down versions of the power the Naiad's hold, so very basic and weak water manipulation but keep the lighthearted and kind spirit for the sea life and work to protect them and the human's that cross the sea and so that is how my Mersona being half Naiad came about

Do you mean different types of mermaids from folklore, or different types of professional mermaids?

@@hayrettinyavuz9274 To name a few, there are sirens (sometimes also considered bird-like creatures), selkies, naiads, mermaids, merrows, ect. Your best bet is to look up mermaid mythology. There are tons of different cultures around the world that have their own interpretation of mermaids. A quick google search should give you plenty of ideas. :)

I clicked on this bc I'm making a short story in English class but i do have a mermaid alter ego.
Name:Mersephone(like Persephone but with an M)
personality:very sweet and friendly towards children, can be a little clumsy at times. Mysterious and quiet when she wants to be(mainly around adults or swimming in public). Will become sassy around rude people
Favorite color: blue like the carribean ocean
Favorite sea animal:dolphins because she has loved playing seaball with them ever since she was a little guppy. Her favorite dolphin friend is actually a zoo escapee from italy
Likes and dislikes:
Likes: seeing humans happy, swimming with dolphins, and exploring land civilizations.
Dislikes: people who overfish, ocean pollution, and anyone who is rude.
Hobbies: weaving seaballs, playing with dolphins, singing, and exploring human life.
Backstory: has lived all her life as a mermaid in the Pacific kingdom, living pleasantly with her parents in the southern area of the kingdom. Over the years, she has met many fisherman, and some of them did overfishing, which Mersephone hates. Sometimes, they tried to harm her for “ being dangerous” (which explains scars).

My siren of the shadows used to be a mermaid and used to live in a happy pod sometimes came up to play with the human children but then on one faithful day she had decided to stay home in the cove and that day was the day that changed her entire life, that day there was an oil spill she was the only mermaid to get away before she drowned, a few days later she went back to her home to see nothing but death she kept swimming around trying to find any form of life but there was nothing so she swam away crying and developed such a distain for humanity that even her heart changed to that of a siren’s and she was mermaid no more
Edit:I think mermaids have human lungs but are able to go longer without coming up that’s why I said before she drowned

My mersona grew up in a small little hidden cove with his family and had a happy life. Until one day his family mysteriously disappeared leaving nothing but a glass pearl necklace filled with magical mists from the bottom of the ocean. After his family's disappearance he hid away in the cove's underwater cave. Over a few months his tail turned a dark purple and black. He then decided it was time for a change in scenery and used the glass pearl necklace to transform into a human when he's dry. But usually he sticks to water life.
All my slimes are blue like the ocean but I wish they were Gothic like you
