I started in RC back in the late 70's early 80's. I was active in it until about the mid 90's. I got out of it due to other commitments, family, etc.......About 8 or so years ago I started to get back into it. I just got one of these and can't wait for a calm day to get out and try my hand at it. Back in the day the one plane I always wanted was the Spitfire, and now I have one. The flight stabilization should help with my now split minute reflexes. I will let you know how my first attempts go with this little jewel. Thanks for posting your review.
I know right? Back in the day RC had 75Mhz crystals, (car) speed controllers were mechanical etc… it’s amazing how much has changed since! What I really love about these “cheap” RC toys now is that they are great value, quite durable and most importantly, great fun and “re-learning” experiences! I have a 1.4m Cessna that I’m still struggling to get up in the air so I’m wondering should I get another smaller P51 that’s slightly bigger than this Spitfire. 😂
@@uncleraymond Not sure where I heard this but someone made the comment that these little war birds are like potato chips. You just can't stop at one. Yes, I do remember the radio crystals and if my memory is correct there were only something like 8 or so available channels within the designated frequency. Since I belonged to a club you would have to wait until your frequency opened up before you could fly. Once done if someone else was waiting you would let them fly and wait for them to finish and so on...........
Haha... ya I remembered we often held our breath when running cars, hoping that the frequencies won't clash and send our cars on unintended trajectories! It was so scary yet so much fun... Well, erm lucky for me I'm not a potato chips person haha... but I'm really considering getting that slightly bigger P51. Let's hope I get down to it soon!
To fix the way the plane climbs when you put it in expert mode you need to bend the metal rod that attaches to the elevators. I literally squeezed the bent part on the rod with some pliers a tiny bit and that lowers the elavator so it stays level. It is a fine adjustment though. The other option is to push the trim fully forward whilst on beginner mode and then it should help it be more level when moved to expert mode.
Hi uncle Raymond. Uncle 'Bob' Ong here. 😆 I lost my Spitfire among the trees at the field in Old Holland Road a couple of months back, never to see it again. 😔 However I do have another T28 and the newer blue P51 from the same manufacturer. Couple with a Radiomaster Zorro Tx running the multiprotocol internal module, they do fly very well even in expert mode.
Hi Uncle Bob! Yep, I've also lost a Red Tail at OHR. Currently I'm waiting to fix my Cessna and/or buy some other planes to try and fly. I already got a Spektrum for my birthday this year but haven't got down to bind it to anything yet! Let's hope we all continue to take to the skies and have fun!
Thanks Unkle Raymond, I just bought my first warbird and I am in love with it!

Yeah that’s what I did but I guess it didn’t bend it enough. Will try again soon!
wish you all the best Uncle Raymond 😎
That Spitfire is kinda cool
Thank you! This Spitfire is still around but I’m trying to get on bigger planes now. Do subscribe and look out for my future videos!
@@uncleraymond lol...thx...likewise
I wish us both good luck! Haha
