Regarding skins; kuro games already does grindable skins from leveling the character up which adds more accessories or clothing patterns. Then there are paid skins which are radically different.
I honestly don't think "modified" and "final" skins will be present in WW They were cool in PGR, I love how the characters get slightly changed skins as you upgrade them But I haven't seen a hint of them even existing in WW So I wouldn't get my hopes up
You know what's the worse thing about the whole skins discussion with that dude in the video? That League skins were indeed not free at the beginning, they implemented the boxes AFTER the skins have already drain everyone off their money. His whole take was flawed from the start, just after years of legendary skins giving them money is that they gave everyone a chance to get them for free.
Just wanna give a little news; PGR's UI had been completely revamped this patch. It's shocking to me because it's out of the blue and seemingly random after so long. But it's a damn nice change because I used to get lost when I was new player. So if Kuro wants it, they can, and they will.
@@stego- I would recommend you to go back because the storm is approaching, if you had played it before then you know. And just like vergil said *"If you want it, then you have to take it but you already knew that"* In the end, it's upto you.
To preface this: I haven’t watched the video. What I’ve seen people complaining about is saying it copied Genshin’s UI, which is the most brain dead thing I’ve ever seen.
People say bland design then say gojo is their fav character. The characters aura can make them really dope so idk. Characters don’t have to be flashy to be cool imo. Thoughts?
Same thing happened with hook in hsr (mind you they kept comparing her to klee, often choosing klee over the former), then suddenly her arc dropped off and suddenly she got tons of love from the fanbase
At face value most character designs are bland which makes sense cause practicality over style especially since we are in a apocalypse setting. Design is inherently linked to your understanding of the setting the game takes place in. Which is why WuWa designs don't look too good in comparison to other more colorful gacha games.
About the skin thing: PGR already does both First you have the ones you get from uprgading the characters, which only change them slightly. But then you have the paid premium skins which almost always change the whole aesthetic of the character. Then you have grinddable event skins, which they only do every once in a while (and you have premium event skins too) Then you have the skins which you can buy with a grindable currency in the game. It's a pretty long grind, but you have pretty good skins there. Normally the skin which came with the caracter gets added to that shop after a while so you can get at least one cool skin for your favorites every now and then.
Definitely nitpicking but I do agree with Tec that the UI and font does need some tweaking. Just check out PGR's UI and it looks slick and minimal. Also, shout out to the genius chatters that argued about skins and economics, omg.
Another thing I like about WW is that switching character feels smooth. I hate how in Genshin very often you get hit with the notification telling you character can't switch in some state like gliding, swimming, jumping, mid character animation and sometimes even standing around an uneven surface also stops you from switching character. In WW you can switch character very smoothly and at any time. Yea we can switch character mid air or while climbing. It's so smooth and prevent any switch delay. Switching character off won't cancel the animation early, instead they kinda linger around for awhile to let the animation finish before disappearing.
Fun fact you can actually even use the QTE mechanic to parry and dodge attacks with certain characters which adds way more depth. This is especially apparent when you are playing a ranged character because they are projectile attacks and not hit scan it can be tricky to parry outside of QTE or Echos. Some of the ranged characters actually have mechanics that make them less reliant on parries.
@@cynthiahembree3957 cmon, qte is a cancer of gaming industry. Brailnless huge 10 minutes circle for doing parry is not a mechanic. It is casual bullshit which you can do by a total random just by doing basic attacks lol. I hope they will delete this indicator so parry can be actually skill based mechanic
@@cynthiahembree3957 Some range character actually feels pretty tough to use against some bosses at higher level. Cuz some of them gets really aggressive and you can hardly stay in range away from them as they will go after you relentlessly. And parry in general at the endgame is very important cuz it'll interrupt the enemy's attack chain and it does a lot of dmg to their stagger bar.
@@ProkerKusakaor they can just add a feature to turn on or off the parry circle indicator, so those who wanna challenge themselves can turn it off, and those who aren’t ready can leave it on
When they change the story crownless introduction was affected too damn it.....i want kuro to make crownless tutorial fight to be in a medium difficulty not hard medium difficulty
Wuwa only being in it's beta testing phase really makes me hyped for the full release, I think the story will get insanely good in only a couple updates, (1.1, 1.2 etc)
@@tabletennisstars1227 Having lore doesn't make a story good lol 🤣, it's way easier to write a lore then to incorporate it in the story seamlessly . That's basically the difference between me and a chef , both can use the same ingredients but only one can actually make an insane dish .
@@morving7714that's a great analogy. I've literally never seen a genshin player this eloquent. Maybe that's a very low bar but still. Most of them probably don't even know what 'eloquent' means 😂
The fact that your comment about the Genshin story being ass made some people of the chat butt hurt is actually crazy, Man I 100% agree, 1.0 was overhype and its very crazy how people try to defend the mediocre story created by a billion dollar company, they might as well say all hail the rich.
@@AnsonCarter-q1o they can, but the fact that no one is providing arguments and is just being toxic Is crazy. So using what you said now I ask you, can’t he have his own opinion without people attacking him? If it was with respect and arguments hell yeah let them be heard, but attacking and being like "L take" like bro😂
1.0 Genshin was created by Hoyoverse when they were barely even getting a hundred thousand dollars per month with Honkai Impact 3rd. That's why it was bad if you cared about meeting the characters. (I love the story because I care more about the overall world building than the characters we play as, that's just me personally tho). Inazuma was their first dabble in making more islands and story with the money they earned, and then Sumeru was when they were actually able to FULLY utilize their billions they earned AND even more so in Fontaine. Hoyoverse said the story was made a few years in advance, so that's probably why they weren't able to properly redo Inazuma in time with their new earnings, but they were able to do so with Sumeru and Fontaine.
As someone who gained access to CBT2 and finished the main story I can already say that this game is a league above Genshin. Not overhyping, I'm stating things how they are. The story was a bit of a yap fest for the first 2 hours, but once Scar appeared it started getting interesting. I love the fact that they already enstablished Rover's lore as the main focus of the story. It was an introduction chapter, nothing crazy, so I'll give it a 7- out of 10. The combat is CRAZY good, learning the attack patterns of the enemies is bringing me back to the SoulsBorne/Elden Ring days and I love that! The game doesn't really punish you that much if you fail to dodge or perry, but that might be because I'm still in the early game. Because of that, I want to reach the endgame (if there is any in this beta) to see if something changes. The exploration follows the same formula of Genshin, with all the puzzles and challenges, but the traversal is SOOO much better, you can wall run, "double jump" and use a grapple which is basically Kazuha's skill available as a gadget. Hopefully they maintain this degree of freedom, I don't want to see entire areas locked behind side quests like Genshin does. I refrain from judging the characters, since it's too early for that imo, but I will say that Scar and the Magistrate girl have my attention. As for general aestetics and sound design, I think the character designs are really damn good and the monsters look sick, bosses themes are absolute bangers 🔥! Keep in mind, these are just my first impressions after more or less 12 hours of gameplay, I still have to explore the game further, but the fact I haven't found any major problem so far is a very good sign. Just noticed some "bugs" related to dialogues: sometimes they take a few seconds to load and when there are more than three lines of text, the forth line gets cut off. Lastly, I want to clarify that I'm not an advocate of the Genshin killer narrative (good clickbait material tho). Wuthering Waves is a competitor, nothing more, nothing less. That being said, Genshin will not change due to WuWa eventual success. Genshin addicts will not leave the game for WuWa (they will probably just try it or play both), especially the normies. And as long as Genshin doesn't lose players the devs will not change ANYTHING. But that is fine in my opinion, Genshin is a hopeless game and it can remain that way for what I care. HSR is everything I need from HoYoVerse, to be honest.
I do not believe it will rise to be an actual threat for Genshin, all just because it is a game all categories can enjoy. That alone is why it is the biggest gacha game really
@@aquadactyl136deepest mechanic of genshin is... pyro + hydro does more damage than hydro+pyro, don't act like genshin is hard to play, wuwa has a very complex and deep combat system like the comments mentioned, bosses are actually hard, you have to pay attention, dodge, and concentrate, in genshin you just spam shit or even, kill everything in one tap, boring
Not sure why but seeing this reminds me of Warframe. A game I've played off and on over the years with like year-long breaks in between. Every damn time they change THE EFFING EVERYTHING about the entire game, and I have to relearn it all over again lol. So frusterating.

It's not going to compete with genshin, It's targeting a different audience. They're going for those who were looking for combat game mechanics and end game judging from how they designed the bosses' move sets
You know that the genshin devs actually said that the reason why they aren't adding any semblance of end game is because their players might get anxiety attacks right? Ain't no way WW is going for that market cause it's going to be dog shit game once it tries to cater to a brain dead player base which genshin is thriving on@@chadikhr7258
Sometimes simple and clean design for characters is great. I feel some people just want to much flash and flair for every character, kind of like the ridiculous "must have giant shoulder armor" in some rpg games.
@@bacongod5759 I think it works for Genshins world to be fair but it would not make sense for WuWa and it's more grounded style. Thinking about characters having crazy colors seems kinda cursed.
Hoyo designs are almost always very busy, so i can see why Doro would think WW is bland when he is used to designs like Tighnari, but as Teccy said, the WW designs are more elegant, streamlined, practical and fits in with the lore. Also Taoqi design ILOST SALAMI
I mean..in the first batch they put so many female characters with same dark hair color and monochrome clothes. They look a lot better but theres still room for improvement. Nothing wrong with pointing that out
I guess the point is in Genshin just by looking at character you can tell what this character about. Where they are living. What theirs job etc. In WuWa it is just female in dress or male with a coat.
When it comes to Kuro Games, in PGR they do have a lot of Coatings (Skins) for all their character they do come in 2 varieties. There are ones that you can grind to get F2P but generally they don't change anything but the appearance of the characters. Then they have SFX Coatings which are Skins that are only purchasable with Real Money but they add more value by changing the character appearance as well as change the Effects in the combat animations of the characters. So I think it's fine to have skins that F2P players can work towards but it is also fine for Skins to only be available with money if their value is above the bar set by the F2P obtainable skins.
Just to add: there are some SFX coatings / skins that even F2Ps can acquire via Black Cards, aka the in-game gacha currency for PGR (granted, they're gonna have to skip an S-Rank debut banner or two to guarantee themselves the skin). Lucia Plume's icy white gown skin & Bianca Stigmata's Snow Petal skin being some notable examples.
About the characters and their designs, I believe it’s just Genshin players too used to “flashy” and “in your face” kind of outfits that they can’t really appreciate WW characters because most are more dark and muted (but then again, when do Genshin players appreciate anything other than Genshin). Personally, I love dark and muted. Wriothesley is my favorite Genshin character, not just cuz he’s voiced by Joe Zieja, but his design and colors looks great. Same goes the Trailblazer in HSR, dark and muted character design. But to some people, dark and muted is lame. The point about Diluc and Ying Lin, yeah, that’s just dumb and a clear case of bias.
For me, it's not that they're not flashy enough or anything. Like, the designs look good aesthetically. It's just, they tell me nothing about the character. I don't feel a connection between character lore/personality and design. They just look very good, but that's all. This is what's missing a bit for me, if that makes sense. I feel like most of the female characters could swap clothes and it wouldn't fundamentally change them. It's not something that'll dissuade me from playing, and there are some characters that I like and stand out for me. Just not a fan of the general design direction as of now.
@@captainpeanut6427 Nah bro, I understand what you mean completely. I have a similar mindset. While I appreciate the designs, I know nothing about the characters, their stories, their lore, their personalities. For some characters that works, like with MCs. They’re usually silent, mysterious, and relatively unknown, so blacks and greys on MCs makes sense. Ying Lin is the only character I can take a guess at their personality, lol.
@@captainpeanut6427all that in CBT2 😒, so you take your time with all these "stuff" by playing CBT 1 & 2? Even in PGR the characters are deeply connected to the story in later chapters. WHEN HERE WE ARE JUST IN BEGINNING. Gosh... 😪 GI players are exhausting us... You know what? Just give WW a chance.
i guess we are just brainwashed by how characters are designed in GI and HSR, but WuWa characters are as good as them with just different tone that fits their world.
For me, the individual character designs are mostly positive. My only issue with the characters was in the early quest when you as female MC appear in cutscenes with yanyang and baizhi. Early on in the game having 3 female characters with the same build and black/grey primary color doesn't help the characters stand out as compared to Amber, Kaeya and Lisa who have very different builds and color schemes
I think it's less about the colours and more about the art style.. Genshin's art style is its own brand.. WuWa has a very familiar and commonplace art style, I can't exactly pinpoint but it just feels slightly off.. But they make it up with the gameplay so it's not that big of a deal.
@@surreabel I don't play many games in the genre so maybe the WuWa art style isn't as played out for me. I think Rover (female), Baizhi, Jianxin and maybe Yangyang could be reasonably confused with each other. Aalto and Calcharo also have similar appearances. I can't think of two Genshin characters that look that similar despite the much larger roster. I guess Lyney/Lynette?or maybe xingqui with new skin/furina? Could just be a familiarity thing I guess
@@SpeedyGuanaco It's because Aalto and Calcharo are from the same region. Different occupations of course. It says Calcharo is a leader of mercenary group as where Aalto is an information broker. Same inner circles I would imagine. Anyway the point is it makes sense for people from the same regions to look similar.
@surreabel Not for me. It is about the colors. Or rather, color, singular. Because that's what a character gets. Greyscale, and one color. Look at the red haired girl... her clothing matches her hair perfectly. In this muted world, she found a bright red chest strap and shorts that perfectly match each other and her hair. Pink haired girl? She too found clothing that is all greyscale... except for the pink, which again perfectly matches her hair. Would it kill them to have someone with, say, brown pants, and a muted red shirt? Or maybe blond hair and a green coat. Or maybe they could go really, really crazy and have a character with brown hair, blue jeans, and a silver belt buckle. I know, I know, three non-grey colors might be asking for too much, even if one is just for a minor accessory, but one can dream, right? Now, it is worth noting that plenty of games fall into this hair color = costume color trap. Genshin has a ton of characters where the hair color matches the clothing color with also relates to the element they use. And it something that makes me tired of blue haired characters, because they are so common between cryo and hydro. A character like Chevy (though for her, it ties to Overload... pyro costume with electro hair) or Klee is the exception. Tower of Fantasy, hair color = costume color, over and over again. Just how bad are their character designers that they only use the same color schemes a third grader would use? Mix it up a bit. Don't overuse the concept. And especially don't make several of the first characters your players get look basically the same.
Amen brother. You hit the nail on the head with forced comps with elemental reactions in Genshin. While I love the idea of reactions. I HATE not being able to use my favorite chars with each other... I can't use Shenhe, Yae and Dehya in the same team with out it being complete ass.
That's his point, what if he doesn't like to play with any cryo characters. Why should he be punished for playing with characters he like in a character-centric game
If only they're also being critical for genshin the same way they're with ww lol (I'm not talking about doro specifically btw, but most of genshin daily players)
I just wanted to quickly touch on the League of Legends cosmetics/champions monetization that was touched on and dispell some myths (been playing League for 7 years so no life, and yes my PFP is a skin from League). The person who was arguing with you about skin monetization got 2 main points wrong in the comparison to gacha and cometics and I wanted to explain them first. 1) League is not fully grindable for "new players" in order to get all the playable characters and thus is actually more similar to a gacha game in this sense (we're talking about new players not oldies who already have all the playable characters unlocked). With the introduction of blue essence (BE), the process of acquiring champions is a lot harder than it was in it's influence points (IP) era but I'm not going to touch on that. BE is the currency used to purchase playable characters and is mainly obtained through 1 method (ignoring farming battle passes and the measly 50 BE you get from your daily win) and it's through the "random" champion capsules you obtain after levelling up. These champion capsules have a set value of BE that it should give you (you get a character at varying BE cost tiers, think comparing it to 3, 4, 5 star characters but where the cheaper '3' star characters are not necessarily better than the '5' star characters , though the '5' star characters are more expensive). However with the over 160 champions league of legends have your chances of getting a new character are extremely volatile AND these capsules will give you characters that cost less BE (think '3' star character) than the higher BE cost characters. And the WORST part of it all is that these characters that you get from the random gacha capsules ARE NOT EVEN THE FULL CHAMPION, they are actually "shards". You must actually use more BE (that you get through the capsules or disenchanting these shards) to either upgrade a shard into a permanent champion OR buy it for a higher price of BE in the in game store. These champions can also be purchased with RP (riot points, the paid currency of league). 2) When specifically looking at cosmetics, the "grinding" system that the viewer mentions is a loot box system akin to CSGO (I'd rather this comparison than to Overwatch or Apex). In this system it is actually exactly akin to a gacha WHERE you can grind the game and play well to achieve chests (think getting a 9 star on a floor of the abyss) and also be a honorable player that others enjoy playing with (it's harder to find a comparison to Genshin here but since it ultimately rewards players who play the game more often I'd want to draw the comparison to achievements). These chests are opened by the keys and you get a RANDOM skin that you have no control over. Like 3, 4 and 5 stars there are different cost tiers of the skins (epic, legendary, mythic, etc.) that have varying cosmetic effects on the game (again where rarity doesn't necessarily equal how good the skin is). This grinding system is time-gated where you can only obtain one chest per week, and the key drop rate is almost completely random but drops more frequently when you play more often. It's important to note that if you don't want to grind (especially since there are over 1,600 skins in the game and varying numbers of 2-15 for each champion) you can also purchase the skin in the shop for RP (riot points) a paid currency GIVEN that the skin isn't a limited time skin (that comes out during a certain event or time during the year). Now onto my personal issue with what was said on stream. LEAGUE IS BARELY NOT comparable to a gacha system with it's current implementation of the champion and skin system AND it's restricting for new players to actually purchase and play new champions. And I'll address it first, yes there is a "free champion rotation" where you can test out characters in unranked games BUT you cannot use them in ranked game modes meaning that the character pool you're limited to is WHAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY PURCHASE, which for a new player, is actually a finite amount. And, like any other gacha game, players that have played for long enough and grinded will eventually complete their collection by grinding out levels, champion capsules and BE, but in theory this could also be true for a gacha game, where a player has grinded enough to eventually mitigate all chance and random gacha pulls to obtain every single character (I already highlighted the level of chance in the champion capsule system but also want to say that, yes you can purchase all champions for BE but it's a lot harder to obtain enough BE for that as a new player, just like how a new gacha game player will have a limited number of pulls/summons). And the worst part about all of this is, is that these champions are the gameplay NOT JUST COSMETICS, for a game that is preached to be free, how free really is it and how accessible is it to new players? As a free to play league player you are most definitely gated to a certain number champions for the first 100 levels of playing and I think that's what ticked me off about what was said on stream. And lest we talk about the cosmetics which where, sure you can get some nice skins, but the chance of you getting something you like is quite literally less than 1/1600 every week accounting for everything else you can obtain from chests. Sorry for rambling just reading what the guy said made me upset and sorry if my English is hard to understand.
after playing Genshin almost daily for 2 years, taking a break for a year, playing HSR for a first month and now coming back to HSR, Iam a bit hungry for more action combat that Genshin has, and seeing WWs combat, Iam really looking forward to it
@Tectone to answer your question and counter: Punishing gray raven and Honkai impact has a chance to get the skins through events. Example, honkai impact does it really good in where if there is a skin that comes out it get an event. That event ranges from gacha or the limited ticket currency that you get before a certain outfit that you like releases. It is the same for punishing, there was an outfit i really liked and managed to get through a chance Example (don't know the exact number) 0.008. If you don't get the outfit, you either wait for event to come back or you save up the currency ticket for said outfit or SPEND. There is also another way that honkai impact does it in where it just fairs for both sides. That is, you use the ticket that you use to buy like the amount need for a chance to get the outfit and as you keep going the currency for gacha count to spend increase the number of crystals needed to keep going until you get the outfit. Sorry i know you don't like long explanations too much, but Kuro I believe has already done the skins for punishing well all they have to do is bring it here to wuthering waves. I really enjoyed your take on this though, great video!
yep and some of those games are pretty fun like the fall guy one and you get the mobius skin. I want to try WW but only have time for Hi3 and hsr after work.
Elemental mixing wouldn't force you to team comps. We had it in cbt1 it was great, and you could always ignore it😊 Mixing elements gives purpose to having elements to begin with, also a fun way to build teamcomps for people who enjoy team building.
The difference here is that in wuwa(cbt1) elemental mixing is optional because they are buffs and not really a direct dps thing(like dendro bombs in genshin). So you aren't forced to play character x "because they apply element Y very well and quickly"
as a genshin player i am happy that wuthering waves exist it will be the competition that genshin needs to improve itself! both games will benefit from each other as the competition make both improving more and more and they also will copy the good things from each other. even if i dont jumb into a second gacha i dont hate on it :)
@@blueberry7478 It's definitely a copy with a mid story, let's see if they can keep up with the fast updates like Genshin does though, that's the most important thing to keep the game alive.
@@resplandentthe fast updates of Genshin with mini-kiddie-games that are 97% forgettable. yeah, that’s real threatening. 😂 also, every thing is sort of a copy and amalgamation of many things now especially in the same industry and sector. so get off your Genshin high horse as if it’s the be-all-end-all of gaming. mid story? your audacity is classic. Genshin’s pacing and storytelling with bloated wordy and unnecessarily long dialogues isn’t anything spectacular either.
About comparing character appearances to Genshin, can you imagine a character dressed like Furina dashing around doing air combos in that tea-sippin outfit?
I play Genshin and some of the Genshin fandom's claims are just idiotic. 1. Genshin fans apparently doesn't know Genshin devs admitted they copied *Breath of the Wild* 2. The MC's mouth doesn't move! WTF? The damn Traveller doesn't *EITHER!* 3. They always compare recent patch to a CBT. I disagree, it should be Genshin 1.1 to WV 1.1 - Genshin already got their revenue since release, unlike WV. They have the resources to improve the look of the game.
Also, they didn't understand Tectone point about the story. Obviously 1.0 story should be compared to genshin 1.0 and not CURRENT DAYS genshin, what the hell are these people on about ?.
What's funny is that all Genshin had to do was add repeatable endgame content and real goals beyond participating in whatever minigame they have out at the moment. If they just did that, competitors like this wouldn't stand a chance. But since they're hemorrhaging players because of it, games like WW get to come in and take some market share.
Honestly, I think there would still be room for other options because one game really can't please everyone. WoW and FFXIV or League and DoTA being good examples. I actually enjoyed Genshin more when I was playing ToF because it scratched other itches that Genshin didn't, which made me stop wanting more from Genshin.
@@brabbits5308 You can't be serious. They just don't want to make people experience ANXIETY! That's the real reason they put 3 time wasting bosses into a times content instead of making good mechanics! xD
I would honestly be very surprised if WuWa retains even 10% of genshin’s audience after the honeymoon phase. It’ll definitely carve out its own niche dedicated following, but it’s not going to be anywhere near a threat or even competition to Genshin. Most of Genshins player base is just casuals who don’t care about endgame to begin with and would rather just collect mint.
Actually about the skins i know in punishing Gray raven when your character exceeds a certain power level you can awaken them and every awaken changes their appereance slightly i mean really slightly it feels there is nothing changed but there is small changes. I hope they also make something like that for this game too. In punishing there is also paid skins and they are actually changes the character completely.
I get that people don't like the muted colors but what did you expect from a post apocalyptic game? Unicorns, sunshines and rainbow? If ReShade is allowed to run in this game, then it might help making the game more vibrant for other people. Other than that, people really need to stop campaigning for brighter colors in a post apocalyptic game. It's like asking to make the Resident Evil environments get filled with skittles and then some.
I find genshins environment too saturated. Better complain to the devs to make the game colours more muted cuz it looks like a unicorn took a shit on every character model, then they rolled along the ground to make sure they get an even coating.
My only issue with the WW is honestly that it is a bit bland. I know Teccy disagrees, but I feel like it is insanity to say Diluc, Venti, Lisa, Aether, Kaeya are worse or the same level of design as what 1.0 WW is offering. And i dont even play GI(only HSR and we dont wanna pull up 1.0 HSR competition coz everyone knows Seele, JY design is unmatches in WW)... dunno if it is a female thing, but to me Kuro Games issue is that they probably dont have great outfit designers coz the outfits and accessories miss details and the color schemes are just extremely weird pics. And it aint anout prefrences, it is literally just basic ass outfits, without enough accessories and any details or personality involved. Generally I d say it is not a big deal, but if they wanna sell their characters to a more causal audience, and want their male characters to get some sales (aka wanna involve the female demographic), they gotta do better with outfits, coz I aint gonna lie as a female it does heavily influence my decision. And many non-casual players would be surprised how many casuals think and act the same. And it is easy money, for honestly not that much work, so just redesign the outfits for some, Jiyan should be the standard not the peak.
The echos remind me of NioH 2 soul cores system annnd i looove that game. And the dog petting animation could only be for rover so they dont have to do every character animations for peting the animals
I started Genshin late last year, i'm 95hs at Raiden Shogun's story point... the whole story is a piece of crap, seriously. I sometimes don't even pay atention at how bad it is.
*pause* Mondstadt story was wonderful. Venti and Dvelin was already such a majestic start, it was fun charming and magical and gave a very lovely atmosphere to the game, many got attached to the characters right away. I think WW has actually a very good start overall! It showing it's own atmosphere to the world, Scar dude is cool, the teal dragon boy is hot, the cutscenes are cool! It's not about "better" it's about if youre hooked and emotionally invested! ~. Way better the tower of fantasy tho ☠️☠️☠️
There are colorful outfits though. Bright pink, bright red, bright blue. No doubt they'll add bright yellow and bright green at some point as well. The problem isn't that the game doesn't use colors, or that the colors are all muted (because, again, bright friggin' pink). It's that pink hair girl has pink in her clothing, and it perfectly matches her hair, and there isn't any other non-greyscale color. The ones that use red? Red in the hair, that matches the red in their costume perfectly, and everything else is greyscale. Blue wearing girl? One shade of blue, everything else, greyscale. And this means that there isn't much variety in terms of color usage and consequently, increased odds of characters looking alike, blending into each other. Especially since the enemies have the same thing happening... greyscale + 1 color.
Design wise i think they look good . I think most people don’t like is that many characters have the same color pallete like black, gray and white wich makes many characters have the same look, Also many characters have the same hair color mostly black, red and white. What i saw there was 2 male characters that har the same white hair so they looked like the same character. The thing is that it can work to have these things but you need to make diffrent kind of shades at least so it doesn’t all have the same feel. Examples. Have characters woth the same hair color have another color or make the hair style alot diffrent like one is short and the other is long. The autfit should at least have 2 prmary color and on of then can be black or white. The issue with black and white color combo is that they are oppasite wich means that they are both fighting for your eyes. Black and white work better of you put it with another color sense black and white aren’t technally real colors. Plus color helps with characters sense colors can tell you trinds about the character like red is usally connected to fire and high energy character. I think the designs are good they just need to work withe the colors and they don’t have put strong colors sense there are many shades of colors. Like dark red and toned out colors that i think would work for this game. This is from an art student.
26:53 currently, i dont know much about wuwa so i cant compare the two, but i can at least explain a little about genshin. with 1.0 in genshin, they just layed the groundwork for characters, story elements, and lore really well via gameplay which i thought was really good, so i dont think it sucks at all, honestly. the abyss, fatui, archons...even dvalin or the holy lyre, it gives an idea of what these entities are in the world and a sense of purpose, and why factions like the abyss are against them. it wasnt peak storytelling, but i thought it was good with how it started things off with the first few major quests because it gives the impression that there is much more than what was shown on the surface. 37:20 with 1.0, the characters in wuwa look really nice and pretty with this soft and smooth(?) features overall, i dont know how to explain it. currently, adult characters seem to be give more mature(?) colours (idk how to describe it) like blacks, greys, blues, maybe some reds and whites mixed in while child characters having more vibrant and flowery colours. which, i think makes sense in the world that this takes place in, so i dont think its bad. maybe there will be some lore about characters and why they look they way they do, but ultimately i would say its fine. but with genshin, what i always have enjoyed about character designs is that who a character is, and or what they do in the world, is reflected by their design. being in a colourful and vibrant world, it gives devs plenty of room, opportunity, and freedom to use their imagination and come up with ways to distinguish each character from any other and thats what i love to see. mona? a mage of hydromancy so is made up of dark blues and blacks with a large magic hat who is very much intelligent and confident in her abilities. diluc? someone that acts on their own ideals and stuff, living in mondstadt not being part of the knights of favonius as well as maintaining a wine industry so he is mainly made up of black colours with a fur coat. jean? the current acting grandmaster so she has an upstanding appearance as an official who is responsible for keeping mondstadt in check so she looks quite professional with white colours and symbols over her clothing as someone who is the highest ranking official in the city being in charge. i could go on, but my point is that i have always appreciated each and every character to date has had at least some level of thought and care into their design to where it sets them apart as i said earlier. whether its because of what a character does in their life, or what has happens to them in history from a lore perspective, i think i could go off about any character to date because they are just, really well done. overall, im not trying to bring either game down. i didnt compare the current story of wuwa to genshin because i havent looked into it, so i made sure not to compare the two. in terms of designs, if wuwa capitalises on their own cool design philosophy when it comes to characters, then thats good. i just dont think it will appeal to me in the end, because it just...idk, i guess i would just like each character to be more distinct and unique with who they are and being able to figure that out simply by looking at them. for wuwa, its still in development so maybe things will be more appealing when its ready to be out in full. ty for anyone who has bothered to read this through, genshin has been one of my favourite games since the beginning and it has given me some of the best experiences i had for myself and with friends who are dear to me so it really does mean a lot to me peraonally
Not only do the outfits of the characters reflect them, but their animations differ too. The two best examples I can think of are Xiao and Hu Tao. Xiao is a very traditional and guarded way of fighting, keeping his free arm close to his chest to use in case he needs to protect himself there, while Hu Tao’s animations show a more carefree style, where her arms are more outstretched away from her body. It’s a nice detail that most people don’t seem to notice (just my general observation since I don’t see much people talking about these things). I’m not quite sure about WW yet, I’ve only seen some characters fighting animations, but still have no clue on their personalities (with the exception of Ying Lin cuz I feel like I can get an idea).
True, even when the storytelling is mid on monds archon quest, the bridge to liyue quest is just so good (Signora appeareance and venti talk about vision which is one of the core of the story until now).
My only problem with Genshin was there is no recurring characters.. Diluc is a well designed batman, he could've come to Sumeru or Lisa with a hidden quest.. But no they just stay in Monstadt doing nothing.. It's a journey, but i felt alone like a visitor.. no friends coming with me on my journey
@@nerfedmannyou read my mind... After every new region entry.. It feels like game literally ignores the previous region except Liyue.. Example: Inazuma is literally a forgotten nation now..
Ngl, Baizhi and Yangyang look great. But early on something gave be generic ToF-esque vibes. But the new CBT2 glow ups lifted the artstyle somehow. I can’t exactly explain it.
As someone who loves Genshin impact I look forward to this game because now there is legit competition. Was rooting for Tower of fantasy but lost interest
idea for glider: make it similar to "just cause". specially just cause 3, it feels amazing to be in the air. you can grapple yourself forward and open your wings and crash into a wall at high speed and NOT die. its so fun
Nah they can just add speed to the glider and call it a day. Unlike in genshin in WuWa there is no open world exploration mechanics you just brutforce from point A to point B. So why glider is so slow?
RARELY if ever pull on Genshin's weapon banner unless I pull a char ridiculously early and have crazy excess to spare... OFTEN pull on Star Rail light cones with the 75% chance and the straight 50/50. With 100% guarantee, I'm FAR more motivated to try plan on roll characters AND their weapon as a set, and EVEN occasionally devote real world money to that if I'm coming up 'short' whereas before in Genshin, I'd just hang up 'my luck is saying no' if I ran out of freemium wishes on it.
The gameplay could have been smoothed out. I haven't played since launch but then it was just a complete mess.Maybe if they didn't do the exact same thing that Pokemon did with Sword/Shield then it might have run at least a better framerate.@@ProkerKusaka
@KusakaI've been playing it for a couple of days, and, well, I actually have issues with the mechanics. The jump doesn't let me go forward enough. The jetpack relic that lets me go up for some reason has a crazy long recharge, which is a fun killer and seems kinda pointless. The server xp bonus means I outleveled the combat just like that, and consequently, I don't really have a clue what I'm doing, because I didn't have time to learn what I have before a new system or twelve is dumped on me. And now that I hit a point where that isn't the case, well, I don't know what I'm doing. I think, overall, there are a few too many mechanics at play. And that gets worse when you consider all the various reward/currency systems, all the different things to level that all take their own things. So overall, they just throw too much at a new player. I shudder to think what a casual gamer would make of it all. They could really benefit from streamlining things a lot more. Sometimes, less is more. As it is, I'll probably uninstall it. I'm not invested at all, and a large part of that has to do with it just throwing too much stuff at me. Also, while the starter banner has an SSR guarantee on it, they don't let the player choose the one they want... that's just dumb.
32:48 It's because when someone who is typically positive makes a negative remark, it has more impact since you know it takes more for them to say something negative Just like the opposite where if you, who are typically more on the objective/negative side (I don't mean it in a bad way btw) say something is good quality, I pay attention more because it takes more to have you say something positive
I think there are plenty of passionate people working on Genshin, and that it's mostly management and leadership that's fucking the game over. The whole 'If Genshin only improves now because Wuthering Waves I don't care because they'll only be doing it for the money' take I don't agree with. They've ALWAYS done it for the money, but it's also a truth that Genshin has a fantastic creative team behind it. Music, worldbuilding, et cetera... If getting some actual competition from Wuthering Waves encourages the leadership to improve the game, more improvements may be greenlit in the future.
With the cosmetics. My issue is, a lot of the time now, they are priced at a much higher price point than what it's worth. I mean, there is the Diablo horse skin that costs more than the game. It's not a bad practice, but one that needs to be priced well.
35:27 I disagree with Doro here. The Rover looks absolutely stunning, there is beauty to simplicity. I love her design personally, there is black and gray base colors with gold & jade accents/accessories.
I think the game looks very hauntingly beautiful in a sense. It's stunning but also mysterious and even a bit eerie. Which is perfect for the game and it's setting.
you're right about beauty to simplicity. Both MC looks simple yet so stylish. But it also helps that they actually have a personality and not a floating diaper speaking for them.
Wuthering Waves>=Genshin Impact Reason: -Better Gacha System -Not overextended story -Bigger "plot" 😊 -Best Combat Style not even comparable to Genshin -Better Graphic Settings and noice visuals
Overall gameplay complexity aside, I don't understand, genuinely, how Genshin's Elemental reaction system limits team building? I don't fully understand WuWa combat system but I play PGR, and unique team combos are hardly a thing there. In my opinion, characters having working Elemental types are better than them having elements just for the sake of it. How does WuWa team building work? Is it similar to PGR or has its own style?
I'm in the CBT2, and it's good. The PC version is especially good. Mobile is a bit rough around the edges (my got a new phone last year, it's not a hardware problem). The game needs some work before launch but my god, it's fun.
as a asia nerd i'm worried about kuro games update speed if they can keep up there is a chance compare with genshin hoyo games advantage evey update is the same schedule btw kuro games stronge at combat but suck as story telling and camera movement maybe foreign don't cares
There is a setting to turn off auto camera movement. It was driving me nuts before I figured that out. I don't really mind think the story is that bad. At the very least Scar was a very intriguing villian
hey tectone you're good looking and don't feel bad for being bald, saitama is hot even while being bald, and you're hotter than saitama, it's one of your charms so be proud of it you're handsome 😤👌🏻
the story take was really good. Some of these players who compares WW to GI's story uses the overall story of Genshin like bro... WW is just starting to build the story.
38:51 I think Genshin's designs stand out because they are cohesive, the elements of the clothing from the colors to the fashion make sense for their location, personality, and abilities. But WW's outfits dont immediately translate into the personalities and locale they are from, at least not to the same degree genshin's does.
There is litterally no cohesion between a bunny costum, a magician costum, a pirate costum, a knight costum, a maid costum, a fancy barman costum, a naruto boy costum, a none costum, a cat girl costum etc... Except for halloween maybe. There are all the color possible in Monstadt roster, so no color related to their location. And they are all just basic cliché from anime.
@prisciliaflora Idk if you just don't have a clue about character design or lack basic reading comprehension. I said the *elements* of the clothing are cohesive, and match each distinct character's location, personality, abilities. Amber is not wearing a bunny outfit, but there are hints to bunnies in her outfit to showcase her friendly, outgoing and energetic personality. Beidou could be wearing a stereotypical pirate outfit but instead she's wearing a longer, more Chinese looking robe to match her background as a Liyue citizen. Even if you look at some random new character, like Ga Ming, his loose clothing and red ensemble hidden behind a black jacket show his casual and carefree vibe and a passion that's hidden behind a somewhat bitter past. WW has similar elements, especially with characters like Chixia. But while they have good colors and style that seem to match the personality of the characters, there is a defined lack of cohesion when it comes to explaining how they match the character's history. Which is fine for the beta, and I'm sure it'll improve, but as of right now it just does not match the attractiveness of genshin's designs.
@@prisciliafloraMy man you cannot read lmao. Nobody said there was cohesion between every character design in the game. What OP is saying is that there is cohesion between Genshin’s character designs and their respective character’s personality, goals, and place of origin. WuWa designs tell me almost nothing about the characters. They look cool sure, but that’s about it.
@@tarabletv Cool and apparently you can say all that whitout playing the game and read the character description and story or... ? Oh wait no ! You can say all that because you know the characters and their story and the lore of the game and the region etc... Did you go read everything about Wuwa in the cbt before applying the same thing to the character design ? No. And i stand with my first respond, there is no cohesion in the design of the character at the start of Genshin and they are all just a bunch of cliché that you all try do give a meaning behind. "there are hints to bunnies in her outfit to showcase her friendly, outgoing and energetic personality" lol seriously...
Incase some aren't aware, some echos have 3 hit attacks so tapping attack while in echo will let you attack more than once, like the wolf has 2 slashe attacks the form a cross if you tap attack twice so double stun
I highly doubt this game will be a "genshin killer" a lot of people are to devoted to genshin (including me 😂) to just completely drop it and move on after all the time they spent on it. However, Im sure this game will take a good chunk of burnt out genshin players away if it ends up living to the hype it's getting. My only problem with the game is the character designs, they dont really feel that special.
Both genshin and WW both suffer the same problem. Absolutely zero content once you finish the initial batch of exploration. Even people with a fulltime job family and everything would have zero issues playing both of these together. Idk what WW patch cycle will be but you are looking at 5 hours of content every 2-3 months for each game. Nothing is getting killed by this. They are just glorified exploration sims with roll for waifu mechanics built in.
@@AnsonCarter-q1o Which is fine if people aren't hypocrites. But instead people are hypocrites. "Genshin could be a great game but it has no content so it's shit" Meanwhile people playing ww for 1 day "omg best game ever this crushes genshin" Ignoring the fact WW has no content 1 week in either. It's literally the exact same game with the exact same problems but people are sucking 1 games dick while hating on the other. And that goes both ways around. Anyone praising genshin while bashing WW is beyond retarded too. Wish all these clowns would stop being hypocrites and look at the facts that both these games are going to be play for 2 hours once every patch then forget about it. Neither of them are objectively good games.
@donkeymoo1581 For me personally, I play with friends in co-op when I have nothing to do. I surprisingly haven't gotten bored with genshin yet despite "not having anything to do." I agree with the last part of your comment, though 😂
@@donkeymoo1581 I've been looping bosses for 2 hours what do you mean no content. Also all games have times between patches were there isn't much to do.
Hot take: There should be atleast 2 skins released a year and during its anniversary you can pick 1 free skin. or have separate coins where you can buy coins like if you 100% an area you can get a skin as a reward/pick one etc. same thing with echos and such make it grindable for those that want a mix.
Wuthering Waves’ character designs are simply too generic in my opinion. They lack a strong enough design character to build their brand such as how people associate Paimon with Genshin or March 7th for HSR. The fact that I saw Yangyang and immediately thought of Yelan is a bad sign. Something I wish they’ll improve upon specifically is the characters eyes, the unique and vibrant design is something that helps Hoyo’s characters standout more than their competition.
@encrypted0547 Seen those kind of post a lot they can't think of something beside saying the game blah blah blah is generic and bland. Bro's bias is insane.
as if people associating paimon with genshin is a good thing, that would put most people off the game for good if they knew she was the ultimate yapper 😂
@encrypted0547 Amber isn’t a poster girl though, Yangyang on the otherhand is. I understand you can only reinvent the wheel so many times making it hard to create characters however the poster girl of your game HAS to be the one character that is actually unique. The number 1 character representing your game shouldn’t be a clone of your competitors most popular character, that’s just making it harder for WW to establish its own identity.
@encrypted0547 They have an actual good point. You're deflecting from the actual point and make it seem like you don't actually want WuWa to succeed. The lack of a skip button is a valid point of critique for Genshin, but it has literally nothing to do with the discussion here. Neither does resin. The topic is brand exposure. Paimon, whether you like it or not, has established herself to be a very prominent character. She's the game's poster child. Every time people praise her, Genshin gets exposure. Every time people shit on her, Genshin gets exposure. Other Genshin character's have a similar effect. Paimon is to Genshin what Pikachu is to Pokemon. Obviously these two brands are on different dimensions, but I think you get the point. I don't see any characters in WuWa that are getting the same kind of exposure as of yet. This is just common sense, and spamming "genshin midpact" in chat won't change this. You can't improve things if you don't admit that there is room for improvement. If you want WuWa to be even more successful, you will see that there is room for improvement. It's a beta test. Saying everything is great is detrimental to the game. Now is the time to especially critize things. Also, why are you shitting on Genshin while at the same time getting upset about other people shitting on the game you like? Can you explain your reasoning? People call Genshin enjoyers whiteknights, but the moment their favorite games get critized they do the same thing. What a clown fest.
There is no way people are crying bc skins cost money or you can´t get all the characters if you are f2p. My man.. if you are broke just say so.If you can´t spend on games just get a *cheaper* hobby
My take on paying for skins; I come from heavily playing Girls Frontline. Most/all characters were easily obtainable during rate up events and grinding. The real money maker was in the skins. Game companies would miss out on a % of skin wanters if they are unable to obtain the character in the first place. If the character gatcha is tolerable and fair then charging for skins would also be tolerable and fair is my take. Including skins in battle passes is cool too.
@@killuad0people talk about it, so there is a good chance they will revert it to cbt1 crownless (my man legit had character with his taunts), they do listen to their community so we just have to tell them
I love this game so far, it's amazing. I'm sure you've noticed that open world exploration rewards are the same Genshin, which could be improved in my opinion. Genshin is known for being stingy. Chest rewards don't feel significant . When was the last time you opened a chest and we're excited about the rewards? If wuwa were to double their open world exploration rewards, the player base would appreciate them and give them another hand over Genshin.
Doro is 100% right about the character designs. WuWa character designs are very good, but compared to the god-tier Hoyo designs they are a bit bland. And that’s fine. I’d say Genshin character design is 9.5/10 and WuWa is 8.5/10. WuWa character designs are more than good enough, especially with everything else the game offers.
I agree with that wuthering waves story 1.0 is at least as good as genshin's 1.0. However the dude in chat is right - you opinion is not valid if you skipped all the diologues . One can retell the events of first 20 episodes of One piece without even watching it themselves, by learning it via other sources.
45:12 that guy never played a real Gacha Game, if he did then he would know that Summoners war is for 10 years already a successful Game even if 1 skin cost 30€ (And yea the Game is for free aswell)
Dude you have no clue what the story is in GI. Both you and Mtash spam click skip in every dialogue option, why are u doing this to yourself? Knowing roughly what the cut scenes show is not the story. Don't do this.
Best part about the Wuthering Waves story is that it's better than Genshin's 1.0 story and WuWa isn't even 1.0 yet. They still have time to improve on it before release!
@Mint_Pickers Too many characters introduced in too short a time; the first location has no heart compared to the first entrance to Mondstadt. Too much exposition, and not enough visible crisis. I'm talking about pacing and flow of tension. It tells more than it shows. If 1.0 for Genshin was a 7 story, Wuwa seems a 6 or 6.5 at best. Genshin isn't a perfect game, but we have to be fair.
imagine if they add a `endgame` quest. which is basically picking up 1 mint from every region. just to find out its the same mint everywhere and you wasted your time running arround the world for a mint picker achievement.
Here's my question Did they make the MC you play as a underage teenager? If I have to deal with yet another incident where a character wants to do stuff with me like drinking, and the ONLY RESPONSE is "I'm sorry, I'm underage" I am going to fuckin riot. I had hope for HSR but when Guinifen asking the MC if they were single, and the response was "Sorry I'm underage"....I haven't gotten over that
Tbh, I think the characters and the world of WW, designs, and colors are fine. I think everyone is just not used to the more muted and darker colors because everyone is so used to the bright colors. Now... don't get me wrong. cbt1 was overly muted. It was a good choice to make the world a bit brighter. The mix of both is good. Still has the post-apocalyptic feel to it. While having bright colors makes it feel a little more alive. I think they did an amazing job. Personally, my opinion is that the overly bright colors are a bit overdone. Like, I see it so much. It just feels nice to see something different.
half of the genshin playerbase are female so they are not gonna be impressed with a hot booba MC. hsr girl mc is one of the better ones because they decided to make her goofy tomboy rather than the stereotypical hot girl.
The Genshin one is devoid of design elements since the MC has zero personality, hence why they feel terrible. The honkai MC design suits her well, especially the female one since they went full on smug with her. The smug attitude would not work with a look like Kafka, Himeko or even Ruan Mei. The MC of Star rail looks young and teen like because she acts like it most of the time, the Genshin MC is only a do gooder. The Genshin MC is also not treated like a hero despite their feats in Teyvat, Honkai Star rail ONLY works because they are on different planets. The non-threatening/childish look on the Star rail character works, Genshin doesn't. Also the Honkai one has a habit of digging garbage.
okay, as you say teccy, lets keep it a 100%, HSR story was better from de begining because kafka is the first character you meet so far, and those are facts
One big thing is that you should not be comparing Wuthering Waves 1.0 to Genshin 1.0. These newer gacha games are already built off of Genshin's success. Genshin paved the way and now a company like Kuro Games which has taken inspiration from Genshin should have an advantage and compete with the current content. As for the thing about skins, Genshin doesn't have powercreep or many skins and it works out. I would say skins should be purchasable with primogems equivalent. Locking it to genesis crystals is a huge L IMO. Cosmetics content should be purchasable AND earnable. I didn't get into CBT so i don't know all the details, but from this video it looks like Wuthering Waves has a lot of good things going for it. I will say that some big factors determining it's success are whether or not characters outside of an elemental reaction system will have enough uniqueness without powercreep to keep people wanting to pull. One of Genshin's other biggest problems is that it is quite bad for new players to catch up or even level their characters if they are from new regions. If Kuro can somehow find a way around this and make it way smoother, then I think it will be a huge W for them.
I'm Vietnamese and I really like watching your videos. In my opinion, this game is quite interesting. I can't join cbt so I will try it after it is released.

Regarding skins; kuro games already does grindable skins from leveling the character up which adds more accessories or clothing patterns. Then there are paid skins which are radically different.
I honestly don't think "modified" and "final" skins will be present in WW

Just wanna give a little news; PGR's UI had been completely revamped this patch. It's shocking to me because it's out of the blue and seemingly random after so long. But it's a damn nice change because I used to get lost when I was new player. So if Kuro wants it, they can, and they will.
I love the new UI, It's easy to navigate

To preface this:
I haven’t watched the video. What I’ve seen people complaining about is saying it copied Genshin’s UI, which is the most brain dead thing I’ve ever seen.
I saw an Mtashed clip where a Genshin fan said that the UI looked like it was for mobile games, and that it was boring and generic XD
Its funny cause a while back they were saying other games should have a similar UI cause it works. Ironic
UI improvement wouldn't hurt I'm down for that shit.
UX are very important for the long run. And the UI in ToF is kinda bad that it was the last straw for me. So I hope that wouldn't be the case for WW.
To be fair, genshin's UI is pretty top tier. Wrote about the genshin UI for a class on UI/UX design.
People say bland design then say gojo is their fav character. The characters aura can make them really dope so idk. Characters don’t have to be flashy to be cool imo. Thoughts?
Real
Same thing happened with hook in hsr (mind you they kept comparing her to klee, often choosing klee over the former), then suddenly her arc dropped off and suddenly she got tons of love from the fanbase
At face value most character designs are bland which makes sense cause practicality over style especially since we are in a apocalypse setting. Design is inherently linked to your understanding of the setting the game takes place in. Which is why WuWa designs don't look too good in comparison to other more colorful gacha games.
@@Ilikegames804 exactly 👍
Don’t diss gojo he’s got that aura bout him and the personality that’s unique in anime to back him up(I’m the number one gojo glazer)
About the skin thing:
PGR already does both
First you have the ones you get from uprgading the characters, which only change them slightly.
But then you have the paid premium skins which almost always change the whole aesthetic of the character.
Then you have grinddable event skins, which they only do every once in a while (and you have premium event skins too)
Then you have the skins which you can buy with a grindable currency in the game. It's a pretty long grind, but you have pretty good skins there. Normally the skin which came with the caracter gets added to that shop after a while so you can get at least one cool skin for your favorites every now and then.
And we got characters who actually gonna die for real :( still coping coz of Selena

Yeah. This is a BIG problem in Genshin.
@@cynthiahembree3957 Some range character actually feels pretty tough to use against some bosses at higher level.
@@Supreme_Bargainer then you need to replay old genshin, it sucked ass, this is way better and does a better job world building
Can you tell me how this game has deeper mechanics than Genshin?
@@aquadactyl136deepest mechanic of genshin is... pyro + hydro does more damage than hydro+pyro, don't act like genshin is hard to play, wuwa has a very complex and deep combat system like the comments mentioned, bosses are actually hard, you have to pay attention, dodge, and concentrate, in genshin you just spam shit or even, kill everything in one tap, boring

Sometimes simple and clean design for characters is great. I feel some people just want to much flash and flair for every character, kind of like the ridiculous "must have giant shoulder armor" in some rpg games.
Exactly this is the problem I have with Hoyoverse designs in general it’s all a little too much to the point where “is this even practical?”
Nothing wrong with pointing that out
Bruh tectone has no taste when it come to character design. As long as boobs is big enough he will always like that character.
Ilost salami... what?
I guess the point is in Genshin just by looking at character you can tell what this character about. Where they are living. What theirs job etc.
In WuWa it is just female in dress or male with a coat.
The designs are always based off the same themes, overusage of floral patterns.
@@Sephy723yeah I got Empyreas dark coating but I don't think I'm ever spending 10k bc on an outfit again lol.

I like how it went from being a reaction video to arguing with braindead people.
Techwear > grandma pants
@@captainpeanut6427 Nah bro, I understand what you mean completely. I have a similar mindset. While I appreciate the designs, I know nothing about the characters, their stories, their lore, their personalities. For some characters that works, like with MCs. You know what? Just give WW a chance.
i guess we are just brainwashed by how characters are designed in GI and HSR, but WuWa characters are as good as them with just different tone that fits their world.
Exactly,
For me, the individual character designs are mostly positive.
Baizhi looks so fine, she has those lowkey gyaru visuals like DOAXVV Nanami that got popular in animes and mangas.
Agree. She's gorgeous.
Nanami? 7/3 sorcerer 😼

39:36 This is True. 100%. I never heard them say any strict criticism when its regarding the "Other Game".

Elemental mixing wouldn't force you to team comps. We had it in cbt1 it was great, and you could always ignore it😊
Mixing elements gives purpose to having elements to begin with, also a fun way to build teamcomps for people who enjoy team building.
The difference here is that in wuwa(cbt1) elemental mixing is optional because they are buffs and not really a direct dps thing(like dendro bombs in genshin).
So you aren't forced to play character x "because they apply element Y very well and quickly"

I like the character design and color pallette, i think some people might not like it but i hope they dont change it
My only issue with the WW is honestly that it is a bit bland.
And it is easy money, for honestly not that much work, so just redesign the outfits for some, Jiyan should be the standard not the peak.

yea literaly the guy doesnt see colorful outfits instant bland xD
This is from an art student.

currently, i dont know much about wuwa so i cant compare the two, but i can at least explain a little about genshin.
with 1.0 in genshin, they just layed the groundwork for characters, story elements, and lore really well via gameplay which i thought was really good, so i dont think it sucks at all, honestly. the abyss, fatui, archons...even dvalin or the holy lyre, it gives an idea of what these entities are in the world and a sense of purpose, and why factions like the abyss are against them. it wasnt peak storytelling, but i thought it was good with how it started things off with the first few major quests because it gives the impression that there is much more than what was shown on the surface.
37:20
with 1.0, the characters in wuwa look really nice and pretty with this soft and smooth(?) features overall, i dont know how to explain it. currently, adult characters seem to be give more mature(?) colours (idk how to describe it) like blacks, greys, blues, maybe some reds and whites mixed in while child characters having more vibrant and flowery colours. which, i think makes sense in the world that this takes place in, so i dont think its bad. maybe there will be some lore about characters and why they look they way they do, but ultimately i would say its fine.
but with genshin, what i always have enjoyed about character designs is that who a character is, and or what they do in the world, is reflected by their design. being in a colourful and vibrant world, it gives devs plenty of room, opportunity, and freedom to use their imagination and come up with ways to distinguish each character from any other and thats what i love to see.
mona? a mage of hydromancy so is made up of dark blues and blacks with a large magic hat who is very much intelligent and confident in her abilities.
diluc? someone that acts on their own ideals and stuff, living in mondstadt not being part of the knights of favonius as well as maintaining a wine industry so he is mainly made up of black colours with a fur coat.
jean? the current acting grandmaster so she has an upstanding appearance as an official who is responsible for keeping mondstadt in check so she looks quite professional with white colours and symbols over her clothing as someone who is the highest ranking official in the city being in charge.
i could go on, but my point is that i have always appreciated each and every character to date has had at least some level of thought and care into their design to where it sets them apart as i said earlier. whether its because of what a character does in their life, or what has happens to them in history from a lore perspective, i think i could go off about any character to date because they are just, really well done.
overall, im not trying to bring either game down. i didnt compare the current story of wuwa to genshin because i havent looked into it, so i made sure not to compare the two. in terms of designs, if wuwa capitalises on their own cool design philosophy when it comes to characters, then thats good. i just dont think it will appeal to me in the end, because it just...idk, i guess i would just like each character to be more distinct and unique with who they are and being able to figure that out simply by looking at them. for wuwa, its still in development so maybe things will be more appealing when its ready to be out in full.
ty for anyone who has bothered to read this through, genshin has been one of my favourite games since the beginning and it has given me some of the best experiences i had for myself and with friends who are dear to me so it really does mean a lot to me peraonally
It's a journey, but i felt alone like a visitor.. no friends coming with me on my journey

idea for glider: make it similar to "just cause". specially just cause 3, it feels amazing to be in the air. you can grapple yourself forward and open your wings and crash into a wall at high speed and NOT die. its so fun
Nah they can just add speed to the glider and call it a day. Unlike in genshin in WuWa there is no open world exploration mechanics you just brutforce from point A to point B. So why glider is so slow?
I want to freaking play this already! Bring this to PlayStation!
ToF was too clunky to compete with Genshin but WW looks promising.
Totally agree. ToF has always been missing that real polish to its animation, art style and voice over that was necessary to shake up the scene.
Ngl mechanically ToF was great. The only problem was graphics, animations, the most boring story in the world but gameplay was good
The gameplay could have been smoothed out. I haven't played since launch but then it was just a complete mess.Maybe if they didn't do the exact same thing that Pokemon did with Sword/Shield then it might have run at least a better framerate.@@ProkerKusaka
Its a laggy game because its an MMO. @@ProkerKusaka
Also, while the starter banner has an SSR guarantee on it, they don't let the player choose the one they want... that's just dumb.
they should make glider like far cay wingsuit

Just like the opposite where if you, who are typically more on the objective/negative side (I don't mean it in a bad way btw) say something is good quality, I pay attention more because it takes more to have you say something positive
Teccy capping, you know the spider car is peak pokemon
With the cosmetics. My issue is, a lot of the time now, they are priced at a much higher price point than what it's worth. I mean, there is the Diablo horse skin that costs more than the game. It's not a bad practice, but one that needs to be priced well.

-Best Combat Style not even comparable to Genshin
-Better Graphic Settings and noice visuals

Overall gameplay complexity aside, I don't understand, genuinely, how Genshin's Elemental reaction system limits team building? I don't fully understand WuWa combat system but I play PGR, and unique team combos are hardly a thing there. In my opinion, characters having working Elemental types are better than them having elements just for the sake of it. How does WuWa team building work? Is it similar to PGR or has its own style?

@@Supreme_Bargainersays the guy who is doomposting around ww videos
the story take was really good. Some of these players who compares WW to GI's story uses the overall story of Genshin like bro... WW is just starting to build the story.
38:51 I think Genshin's designs stand out because they are cohesive, the elements of the clothing from the colors to the fashion make sense for their location, personality, and abilities. But WW's outfits dont immediately translate into the personalities and locale they are from, at least not to the same degree genshin's does.
yeah this
There is litterally no cohesion between a bunny costum, a magician costum, a pirate costum, a knight costum, a maid costum, a fancy barman costum, a naruto boy costum, a none costum, a cat girl costum etc...
A lot of MHY characters take cues from other series (i.e. Jean=Saber)

I come from heavily playing Girls Frontline. Most/all characters were easily obtainable during rate up events and grinding. The real money maker was in the skins. Did they make the MC you play as a underage teenager?
If I have to deal with yet another incident where a character wants to do stuff with me like drinking, and the ONLY RESPONSE is "I'm sorry, I'm underage" I am going to fuckin riot.
I had hope for HSR but when Guinifen asking the MC if they were single, and the response was "Sorry I'm underage"....I haven't gotten over that
Why would choose to say you’re underage when Gui asked if you don’t like that option? There are other options.
Bro Wuthering Waves has a badass hot female MC. Honkai Star Rail and Genshin MCs look mid. Yet there are somehow people making the opposite take.
It's almost as if looks are subjective.
Agreed, but caelus looks great tho
half of the genshin playerbase are female so they are not gonna be impressed with a hot booba MC. hsr girl mc is one of the better ones because they decided to make her goofy tomboy rather than the stereotypical hot girl.

29:00 genshin has the worst storytelling in all gacha games and its not even close
