It's sooo underrated man. Granted I am getting Epic cookies almost every 10 pull but the game by itself is really addicting. The underrated part is the voice acting, it's actually so fun listening to every cookie after using skills.

(not a hater) Even tho ww doesnt advertise itself as "genshin killer", public opinion has been shaped and most people will still be dissapointed with inflated expectations. It may be "a competition" but it has to get at least half as popular as genshin to make an impact.
I disagree, since genshin players that think the game sucks would have quit already, and therefore not be a genshin player. I’m of the opinion a very large majority of those that associate with the gacha community think genshin is a bad game. This doesn’t represent the casuals that haven’t played other gacha games to ground their perspective. Although you could say it’s a case of a loud minority in the casual space, it’s definitely a loud majority in the gacha community, and for a reason.
Most are dissatisfied with it nonetheless.

The whole thing that makes Genshin so good is what the gacha community hates about it. The majority of Genshin players have never played another gacha game simply because they are not interested in gacha games. They are interested in RPGs. Tectone is a good example of why gacha game players do not like Genshin. Tectone really just wants to get his gacha high. He does not really care about actual game quality, as clearly evidenced by his game choices. It is a loud minority in the intended demographic for Genshin and a loud majority within a very annoying minority. The gacha community is one of the most if not the most toxic community I have ever seen. There is a reason Genshin is casual. It appeals to people outside the chronically online gacha community. It appeals to people with high paying jobs, as those jobs often require a lot of time and leave very little time for gaming. And guess what people with that kind of job have. Money. So yes, Genshin's intended demographic loves the game, and there is a very loud, very annoying minority that complains all day on social media about it instead of getting a life.
All Wuthering Waves needs is like, 50% less clicking through NPC dialogue or a SKIP FUNCTION and it'll guaranteed get all my GI-intended playtime.

I used to play tons of Genshin Impact, and I know precisely what I have zero patience for hundreds of hours into trying to catch up to storyline stuff after stopping play for a while. So yes, if it's more of the same, I'ma respectfully pass, but if it's got options to move it through boring "storyline" that nobody enjoys featuring nobody NPCs that serve only to fluff the playtime, I'm down. Other than that, all it NEEDS to be is as compelling as GI for me to pick it up. These don't seem like controversial stances to me
What I don't need is another fucking dialogue clicking simulator like Genshin Impact is right now, where you start a quest, walk to a location, click through dialogue for five minutes, travel to a point on the map for two minutes, click through two minutes of dialogue, play the actual game for about 65 seconds, click through four more minutes of dialogue, travel to yet another point... That ain't the kind of Gacha life I want anymore. We're all dying and that's a bad time

Why do people think post-apocalyptic settings are supposed to be dull and grey? If you think about it nature takes over again and it's effing beautiful. Look at The Last of Us. Like Tectone says; just have areas that are grey and muted.

If you want an answer to the desaturated question, I can give the objective one.
People just enjoy bright colors from their bright monitors blasting in their poor little eyes in as dark a room as possible. That’s just a fact. But how do you communicate sadness and a literal apocalypse while having colors being vibrant? Make desaturated things more desaturated, and saturated things more saturated. Make the yellows and greens pop, while making the grey just that much more dull. It doesn’t communicate things being child-like, but it does drastically enhance the visual appeal to the average person.
The quality of the visual isn’t in the raw saturation, it’s in the contrast between saturation and desaturation. It’s why you don’t like it when dark rooms like fucking #0000FF blue, and you’d rather them be desaturated grays and a desaturated blue overlay for moonlit scenarios.
You communicate the sadness through dialogue and story. In cinematography there’s plenty of “sad” movies with high saturated colours because it puts more emphasis on the contrast between the visuals and underlying story/dialogue

As a tower of fantasy fan and a genshin fan. Tof has improved leaps and bounds since launch. The new areas are so dynamic and the plot is really enthralling. They listened to the community and changed their game. I like genshin a lot but wish they would do the same.
Even though I can't play it (because it keeps kicking me out before I can even play the game) it definitely looks great

@@skyzell5029no they don't, the improvement already started early on but there's so much issues needed to fix for mmo open world on top of being their first game. ToF is hella buggy, grindy, competitive gacha which kinda hurt cause one weapon literary just fly skyhigh so doing pvp is meta dependant. But with all said and done they actually improving which this type game company should do.

oh you saw this too, lol. The thing with the graphics though, I have heard a lot of people complaining about genshin being too bright, and i think if WuWa switch to the brighter style it'll mimic genshin even more, which will become part of his strike 1. So personally i think WuWa should stick to their own intended art style. The developer said they made some places more vibrant while keeping other places more gray, and i think that should be a good balance.

Imho... if WW fails in the future, I will be happy for a good reason. It's failure will be great for the game industry. Why? This will deter more game companies from benchmarking Genshin's business model. They should make real single purchase games, not these live service gachas.
I was upset when I heard one of the big game companies recently announced they're going to focus their resources on making live service games than single purchase ones. (The same company which made Hogwarts Legacy.) This shows how much successful games like Genshin and Fortnite have ruined the game industry by encouraging lootboxes, battlepasses and gachas. 💀 They feel that turning gamers into gamblers and fomo addicts will generate more money.. The sad part is that it's true, many gamers are normalised to gamble away money for virtual items in this modern times. 😔

You want the best gacha system? You don't need to look further than Kuro's last game, PGR. It is still such a shame that they copied Genshin more than PGR..
For those who don't know here's a short breakdown:
- Debuting Characters: 60 pulls, 100/0
- Returning Characters: 60 pulls, 70/30
- All Weapons ALWAYS available: 30 pulls, 80/20
(and you can change the "path" at any point, no BS Fate Points that expire and other nonsense)
- Debuting CUBs/Pets: 20 pulls, 100/0 after that 80/20
- Standard: you can focus 4* at 80/20
Plus the game mostly rotates between pull and free/skip patches, and what this means is that as a PURE F2P you can get every "pull" character and farm for every free/skip character via events. All GUARANTEED as you get 60+ pulls every 2 patches, so if you're lucky you can even grab a weapon or a pet (you can farm their pull currency too).

The only reason why i play genshin at the same time Honkai StarRail is that i can run barely just around 30-45FPS in lowest settings.

Agree about how Pity system are garbage, every gacha game where you *have* to skip a banner to get enough pull for what you want is an automatically L, there's 1 guy in chat here (13:49) said "If you skip a banner or 2 then you can get a char and their sig" like it's something to be proud off. What pity system do is that they allow the dev to put SSR rate for as low as possible without triggering the fanbase since they could legit set the hidden actual rate to 0.00001% and players still wouldn't know it since the base rate is so garbage that most players are expected to hit pity anyway. I recently shared the new about how the game I'm playing, which have 4% SSR rate with no pity, gave out 100+ free pulls for their first anniversary and there's a bunch of Mihoyo-verse players commenting below with multiple "How many SSR you can get with that huh?" and "The rate is trash", it's unbelievable.

Wanna play vanilla? Go for it. Wanna play a different shade of vibrant color? Go for it. Wanna have a cinematic/movie style of graphics applied to it? Why the fuck not? It would be nice.

He's technically not wrong about the 1-1 to genshin because it actually is from a visual standpoint. If you deny that, you have issues cuz the icons, minimap, the location of the general buttons and their design choices are all blatant copies of genshin. They didn't even try to hide it.

All the bad takes aside, even if WuWa end up in Genshin's shadow, that doesn't mean it floped, at this point no one really knows what's gonna happen when the game comes out, but for sure can't be a worst situation than ToF.

NGL i loved Tower of Fantasy but they kinda screwed up on how they made it. The first planet had great rewards for exploring and i ended up with enough summons to get a full team of good SSR weapons. When you get to second planet the rewards are kinda crap. They could redo the game and this time not use computer generated voice acting and actually listen to the player base to fix issues and then keep the reward system for exploring with giving outfits, titles, and gacha pulls and it would be incredible.
I absolutely hate the "argument" that the game looks too dull or unsaturated. If it really bothers you that much, you can literally just change your monitor/graphics driver settings/add a filter on mobile to make it look how you want it to 😭😭Plus, the dullness of the world lets certain parts shine brighter than if every single place had cranked values and has a unique palate (IMO).
Sure, some of the colors from CBT1 needed some work, but it would've been nice to see at least some of the dullness that adds to the post=apocalyptic aesthetic remain, rather than looking like any other generic open-world game that just spews saturated and bright colors in your face.
The best choice would either make seperate/custom colors modes in-game, or have a mix of the dullness and flashiness.

Ok imma keep it a buck guys. Nobody stopped anyone from playing pgr, I've seen fanarts and stuff from many smaller games compared to pgr, why is that? Cuz the game was only catering to the hard-core demographic. For a gacha game its really hard to be better than any other hard-core game which offers better fighting and story. The only thing u can get from a gacha (which is predatory af) is better and wide range of characters

Can wuthering waves be improved further? Absolutely. Does genshin do a lot of things well? Absolutely. But are there major flaws with genshin that have been left unattended to and leave the main gameplay system (the combat) to be essentially pointless by endgame? Yes. And will wuthering waves fail? I genuinely do not think so. I think it won't even be a 4th as popular as genshin is, but i think kuro games understands how to handle their game and community in such a way that it's sustainable for them while being amply fun and rewarding for their players. I also think the distinct amount of feedback that wuthering waves actually acts on already puts it leagues past genshin in potential as the game grows and develops. It may not start off the genshin killer, but if they keep being as receptive as they've been, even after the game's release, then i think it has every potential to grow into a far superior game.
I think WuWa will be good for its target audience, it’s not going to get all the genshin players obviously. My main concern is this game won’t be anything but good combat, and that’s only going to be the case for the end game bosses. It’s going to cater more towards people who aren’t good at combat than people who want to get good or are good. That’s the reality of stat based combat. It also feels like 5* characters are easy mode which I’m not a fan of, hoping that’s not the case. I think the combat for PGR is far superior currently.
