I was thinking rolling some combo of kensei. I don’t even have a fully maxed katana and I feel like I’m killing everyone in one or two hits, brutes sometimes 3 or 4. Does that damage buff on people nailed with ghost weapons make that much of a difference, or do you think it’s a little overkill? The damage buff is cool, but do you think it outweighs Gosaku’s stagger and self healing, or ghost armor’s stealth enhancements/shorter build up to ghost stance?
I did start Lethal on New Game +. This is my 3rd playthrough. I am enjoying it. I have been rocking Gosoku armor. I'll give Kensei armor a try from this video. I am using a charm of silence. All my armor is fully upgraded. Another charm I use is Inari's Might. More ammo pick-ups. ❤ Great stuff 👏
I did a build with the gosaku armour with charm that doubles charm power when not in same category Added the moderate damage to stagger plus throw double kunai charm I would chose the correct stance and break their stagger in either one or two hits then kill with quick attacks Also used the charm that heals extra 30% when below 50% health and that doubles with the charm so generally you can always heal bak up to full with one resolve. This is handy in lethal mode because getting hit is very punishing
It’s all about the perfect perry and perfect dodge. Plus you should do stand offs too because that fills your resolve quick. There are charms for filling your health when not in combat as well as a charm for filling a little resolve when dealing damage. Lethal difficulty is the only way to play this game.
My tactic for lethal mode...strike fast and strike first...the charm that gives passive health regeneration out of combat and restores health on kill isn't a bad idea...I actually find the ghost armour upgraded to terrify enemies works really well, I rarely have to fight everyone when in group fights...most of em fall over (easy kills) and run away.
It's so cringey the way most of the comments say "duurrrrr lethal easier than hard" damn dude read the description of the lethal difficulty, it doesn't say its difficult it only says that enemies deal more and become more aggressive in the expense that you also deal more damage. This new difficulty is a touch more realistic, don't get me started on the people ranting on bosses being shorter. It's more realistic to say that an enemy died in 6 katana hits than dying in 12.
Personally lethal is the perfect balance between gameplay and realism: everyone is a mortal, it takes hardship to fight against hordes of mongols and you have to utilize everything in your disposal or die like a pest. But when you master everything and the enemies are frightened by this "Ghost" it is SOOOO satisfying and accomplishing. Also real sword fights end in 1 hit, so it makes more sense and way more intense
Woke up at 330 this morning and had nagging feeling to finally pull the trigger on trying this and try it on lethal, and honestly, it isn't that bad IF you utilize all the aspects of the game. The stealth, the archery and the throwables are crucial, at least if you aren't used to the aggressive new attack patterns from everybody that comes at you. I'm still getting used to it, but it's fun.
I made sure to stack damage charms to be more lethal. For duels, as soon as the enemy sheathed their sword I'd perform a dance of wrath for huge damage.
I think working on perfect parrying and perfect dodge would be priority. The ghost weapons have a limited number of them. Of course if you're good at a bow using the halfmoon bow with head shots would be the way to go. Also if your good at standoff wearing the Sakai Armor maxed out gets you 5 kills which can help.
Do that in lethal then the other enemy will attack you, don't have a 0.1 or 0.2 seconds to react, that's it you are dead. Oh btw good luck with the spearman on lethal
I also played Lethal Mode. Some notes: 1. Spearmen attacks are easy to parry, but you need to get the necessary skill under the Deflection tech tree. 2. Don't rely too much on Spear Defence to auto-parry. Sometimes manual parrying is more consistent and Perfect Parry has more perks. 3. I tried picking out enemies one-by-one during the earlier part. There are many ways to do this: assassination, sniping, Stand Offs then using Ghost Weapons to take out others, etc. 4. Mizu-No-Kami Charm is amazing for parrying and dodging. 5. By the middle of Act 2, you are already OP. I agree on most points. Cheers!
Bryan Hdz12 It makes me kinda wish that i just focused on the story alone at first. enjoy doing that all at once, then do all the extra content and side missions on lethal once it came out. I like did every objective i ran into as i did a story mission every now an then.
I honestly recommend starting Lethal without NG+ as the challenge drops off the more skills you get but because of how lethal works you prioritize different skills anyway.
I am. I like the Lethal playthrough. What I especially like is if Jin dies, he doesn't respawn to the enemies he just fought (like Elden Ring). That keeps the game from being repetitive (like Elden Ring). ❤
Hi y’all, starting my first lethal+ play through!! I agree with starting your first play on lethal. Lethal+ looks and feels like Gran Tourismo with no assists, LOVE IT!! Have yet to unlock second Legends character… Muwahahahaaaa! Cheer and thanks for the build and play tips.
I'm currently playing on lethal mode, and its kind of annoying how I'm constantly dying but fun because I'm forced to switch up my strategy. The kunai and black powder bombs are op in lethal mode.
Lethal is great the only problem I had was the duels are a def step up in difficulty and can be frustrating to die so quickly when almost have them finished
I just want to keep my armor if I start a new game lol since we haven’t heard of a new game+ yet. I switched to lethal mode as soon as they dropped it and I love the difficulty spike.
Just finished my first pass of this game on Hard and about to start New Game + on Lethal. Took my time to gather every single mythic armor and weapon in the game and searched out all the fox dens and shrines so by the time I was ready to face The Khan I had maxed everything out. Aim assist will remain off to maintain the natural play of the game and up the challenge level
So it’s 2022 now. I got the game only in late 2021 so I was pretty late to the party. I started the game on hard mode and once act 2 started I turned it onto lethal. Once I had became really good at utilizing each stance and each move, I was doin pretty well. Once I got the Sarugami armor, I was unstoppable and finished my 100% run. I then did another run on lethal and went through it insanely quickly cause once I knew how to never lose a fight, it was just too easy.
Lethal is what I played my first play through, I would recommend it to any new player’s first run, and after 4 months since I beat the game I am starting ng+ lethal+
I played through twice on medium and have begun one on lethal. Tried on Hard, but hated it. Enemies were tanks and I was tissue paper. I had to start playing the game right on Lethal. Before, I could just absorb hits until I got in position for a kill. Not anymore lol. Not only is parrying essential, but breaking the guard is as well. Some of these guys have all kinds of surprises for you. If you lay back and just try to parry and dodge, you will get roasted. Better to take the fight to them instead. It's a challenge, but I'm enjoying it.
Very late comment but for anyone watching now, I would suggest trying out a Fear-focused Ghost Armor build, with the major Charm that increases Terrify chance and the minor charm that increases percent-based abilities and perks by 50%. Throw a few kunai and bombs and watch the Mongol run in terror from the Ghost of Tsushima.
I've only played the game on lethal and it can be very frustrating at times but there is great satisfaction in dealing with enemies in two or three strikes. I can only hope to get as good as parrying as souls-like players
Great video! I wish stealth was more difficult in this mode. I've been playing in Lethal mode since the update and I just posted a video with sword only combat. That actually makes it LETHAL! 💀 For those who think Lethal is easy I would try this! 😎
Oh 100%, I've been playing and never using stealth pretty much, and lethal was good in the chapter 1 island, but those random ronin mixed in with the mongols are deadly as shit!
@@TheRealTanSeeker I'm on the 2nd chapter as well and the Ronin are badass lol! Have you not been using stealth because it's easy or do you just prefer to fight heads up?
my only issue is the perfect parry timing. I could land the perfect parry whenever i wanted on Normal difficulty, but now i cant perform it to save my life. I honestly think Lethal Mode got the Legends Multiplayer parry timing
Pretty much in Lethal mode, you have to approach the game from the thinking of real combat; So technique and armour are far more important than video game mana stats like HP.
Just elevated to lethal when I discovered I can do more damage. It reminds me so much of the Grave Walker difficulty in Shadow of War and I loved playing on that setting
New game + lethal with the monkey armor and party charm = win get gud. I’ll also be attempting to do the whole thing in travelers armor aswell. So many
@@TM-zc4qz they can't really win though. First people want it to be more realistic, so they want to be able to kill people quick. And then they say it's too easy. Like what do you expect? Atleast they made it so you die quick too. I think knowing that makes people play smarter so they won't die, which is why some people might think it's easier. You don't have to die a million times in a game for it to be good. The game lets you unlock lots of good skills to be able to use against your enemies, and you're supposed to be a skilled samurai, so I don't understand why people are complaining. I'm just glad it's fun and satisfying. And tbh I don't buy that everyone thinks it's that easy. Unless you're just standing there and parrying all day or just using ghost weapons, then the game can get challenging at some points. Darksouls was supposed to be "difficult" but there are so many exploits in that game that you can use to make that game a cake walk.
@@hinokami796 that'd be fun. And I'm not saying it's super hard, I'm just saying you don't have to die a million times in a game for it to be somewhat challenging. Obviously if you learn and get better at the game and unlock all the skills, then it's gonna be less challenging It's like that for most games.
I want deadly Lethal mode or something, I do way to much damage on lethal wich make it pretty easy. Don't get me wrong tho this game is still a goty contender.
The Samurai Clan armor is the best throughout the entire game on lethal difficulty. You get it really early in the game. Damage reduction and health boost prevents the 1 shot from normal enemies. And 30% resolve gain when you get hit. do I really need to say more?
I played at medium first but after the first mission I made it hard, than after three missons,I MADE IT LETHAL. It is sick really good I had some problem but then I mastered it.
I'm wandering if that saragami armour might be more useful now for obvious reasons 🤔 Perfect dodging or parrying it's a viable strategy Having said that A Kensie way of the flame build is basically a fight skip so I think I'll take that And sarugami for duels
Good luck with Lethal + it’s much harder than lethal. I went from killing left and right on lethal to being killed on lethal more, tho it’s prob because the upgrades went up and I don’t have them.
im late to this discussion. But for anyone playing Lethal- I cannot recommend Kensei and Tadayori's armor enough. Anything that keeps your enemy far away from you is perfect and makes camp clearing easy as pie. Ghost build is also amazing for both the stealth and the ability to terrify making camp clearing less of a task
Beat it the first time using lethal it starts out kind of difficult but once you get some skills and shit its pretty easy minus some of the duels because the unblockable attacks 1 shot you but once you get the dodging down its fine though.
I'm playing the game for the first time and i'm playing it on lethal, i know i'm not sane but i will do it, also its hell difficult to beat straw hats duels
@@danielsmith997 Parrying in Sekiro is really easy though. The parry window in GoT is so weirdly small and it's even smaller on lethal. I'd say that if you want to master parrying on lethal mode in GoT, it's gonna take you longer than mastering Sekiros parrying :b
@@donatotusi9140 I'm on act 3 lethal difficulty, first thing I upgraded was the kitana. It's my 3rd playthrough. I only just beat that Genechiro Boss when he goes lightning mode. That game is definitely way harder lol
As someone who fully completed the game on Lethal+... I wish I had found this earlier. I can't count the amount of times I've had to replay duels or have lost to random roaming Mongols.
Kunai, smoke bombs and Dance of wrath, have fun. I regret levelling up my sword, if they add repopulating camps and fortresses I'll probably come back and restart without upgrading my weapons but until then it was a fun three days but now there's nothing to do and patrols die in like five seconds
1:25 spears are the worst, I always keep a kunai for them. I play a new game + lethal mode and they are those who kill me the most. I see I'm not the only one to have difficulties with spears and bullies with their large shield.

Sakai armor and katana maxed out with every charm in melee damage. It might not be as good as Gosaku armor but damn is it fun. Try not to use ghost weapons.
I just started the game completely over today even though I was at the beginning of Act 3 I wasn't having fun on hard difficulty and had actually stopped playing because it was just too easy. So far lethal is much better. I'm actually dying sometimes in normal combat. I'm still not going to use any of the hot springs I find until or unless I start to need them. I just don't want to get into a situation again where is starts to be boringly easy. I'm sure the duels are going to be hard though I haven't had one yet. Either way I just want any basic combat situation outside of duels to be challenging. From watching this it looks like it will be even far into the game I noticed you were getting one shotted some.
I ended up turning on lethal not knowing what it, I was in the 2nd area with the saki armour on and the dmg buff was just letting me one shot any basic enemy
So who else has started a Lethal playthrough? :)

There are charms for filling your health when not in combat as well as a charm for filling a little resolve when dealing damage. Lethal difficulty is the only way to play this game.
That’s bullshit. Lethal makes you ignore half the damn game cause it’s pointless. No reason to stagger or use any other type of strategy.
@@moonmoon2479 It's realistic but not that fun to play, I love it top play on heavy
I think Hard is mostly the way to go. It gives a fun but challenging combat without being extremely close to the line into unfun.
@@cosmic2750 I’m really good or you guys suck. Hard is easy af and boring
👌
Personally lethal is the perfect balance between gameplay and realism: everyone is a mortal, it takes hardship to fight against hordes of mongols and you have to utilize everything in your disposal or die like a pest. But when you master everything and the enemies are frightened by this "Ghost" it is SOOOO satisfying and accomplishing. Also real sword fights end in 1 hit, so it makes more sense and way more intense
Really? You don’t need to be so rude about it...
The game needs load out charms for each outfit...I'm always constantly changing outfits for different perks
Exactly
YES!!
Totally agree! I change outfits all the time, but also changing charms would start to get annoying really fast.
I found that setting in options, look it up you can actually set up charms load outs for each specific armor
@@AlexG-nr2eb You can now, it was a patch. It didn't exist at the time of the original comment!
I dont know why i still watch these videos when i already got platinum on the game lol
That's what I did, made the most sense to me, if they can't touch you how can they kill you
We need more Gore animation!. Game is crazy
Parry, mash triangle button , that's it, I mastered the game
Try that on lethal you cheeky bastard
Lol clearly Havent played it
Do that in lethal then the other enemy will attack you, don't have a 0.1 or 0.2 seconds to react, that's it you are dead. Oh btw good luck with the spearman on lethal
@@ahmarelvirgio823 the difference in reaction time on lethal is what makes it so damn fun when you get the hang of it
@@mauriciomeyer627 yes, when you get to hang of it then you try switch into medium or hard or play legends it's so slooww 🤣
I started on lethal difficulty, died a million times, but makes the game so much more fun. I don’t regret it
Loving lethal difficulty, much more fun than hard combat.
I also played Lethal Mode. Some notes:
Cheers!
Lethal diff is the sauce, but admittedly Kojiro was a pain to take out.
who’s Kojiro?
I think he meant ryuzo?
@@riandijahja9726 - The boss you duel at the end of "The Six Blades of Kojiro" tale
It's like Horizon Zero Dawn and the Ultra difficulty. The game is very good on easier difficulties but Ultra or Lethal make them addictive.
I got the platinum trophy yesterday and I’m just waiting for a new game plus to play it again on the lethal difficulty.
Same. I'm already tired of waiting for it lol
I hope it doesn’t take too long for newgame+ to get here. This game is so addictive. I NEED it
Hayden Welch yeah I know it feels some empty when you get the platinum and have nothing else to do.
Just beat it on Lethal for my first playthrough. Now to do that Kurosawa Mode playthrough on Easy that I just earned hehe
You can jump over Ground sweep and the poke is can be parried or you can use wind stance heavy attack to auto parry 😊
Have yet to unlock second Legends character…
Muwahahahaaaa!
Cheer and thanks for the build and play tips.
Man, you are killing it with these Ghost of Tsushima videos. Subscribed!
Started GoT Directors Cut on Friday, fisrt time playing the game. Yesterday I decided to start over and play on lethal
I'm so binging this channel for my second playthrough
Wow when that Mongol spit on Jin when he died is too disrespectful at 0:46
I've only played the game on lethal and it can be very frustrating at times but there is great satisfaction in dealing with enemies in two or three strikes. I can only hope to get as good as parrying as souls-like players
Archer/Stealth build👌 jump slash/kick during duels to cancel/beat unblockables during duels.
my first playthrough on lethal mofe and Im having a blast
Even tho i haven’t got the game yet, i’m gonna watch this and play lethal from the start.
Did u get it bro?
@@thatcooldude677 yeah ofcourse played it lethal at start months ago
1:20 this right here... Is my favourite combo, you kick then stab
Doing my first playtrough at lethal difficulty wish me luck lol almost done with prologie i think.
Once you have maybe like 60% of the techniques you basically become a god.
Great video! I wish stealth was more difficult in this mode. I've been playing in Lethal mode since the update and I just posted a video with sword only combat. That actually makes it LETHAL! 💀 For those who think Lethal is easy I would try this! 😎
Great idea and I really liked your video! I'm going to try this next but it might be too hard ☠️ LOL!
@@jennifers8700 Thanks, I appreciate that! I'm sure you'll do fine! lol
Bears and dogs are freaking are freaking dangerous!
So many
Honestly lethal difficulty is even easier than hard.
yeah it is cuz you do so much damage. i 2 shotted ryuzo with Dance of Wrath
Lmao I used kraze’s gosaku build on ryuzo and it was the easiest thing I’ve ever done
@@nathanpickering6742 you know I'm gonna play and have a death counter to see how easy it is
@@hinokami796 that'd be fun. And I'm not saying it's super hard, I'm just saying you don't have to die a million times in a game for it to be somewhat challenging. Obviously if you learn and get better at the game and unlock all the skills, then it's gonna be less challenging It's like that for most games.
I learned how to play on lethal really worth it makes the game even better to learn on that difficulty
This guy sounds EXACTLY like joraptor
I want deadly Lethal mode or something, I do way to much damage on lethal wich make it pretty easy. Don't get me wrong tho this game is still a goty contender.
The Samurai Clan armor is the best throughout the entire game on lethal difficulty. You get it really early in the game. Damage reduction and health boost prevents the 1 shot from normal enemies. And 30% resolve gain when you get hit. do I really need to say more?
well... i just agree ! 👍 you are ALL RIGHT man
@Edwin C. I guess u don't like style then
I played at medium first but after the first mission I made it hard, than after three missons,I MADE IT LETHAL. It is sick really good I had some problem but then I mastered it.
I'm wandering if that saragami armour might be more useful now for obvious reasons 🤔
Perfect dodging or parrying it's a viable strategy
Having said that
A Kensie way of the flame build is basically a fight skip so I think I'll take that
And sarugami for duels
I started out on lethal.....best game I've ever played
Thank you
Good luck with Lethal + it’s much harder than lethal. I went from killing left and right on lethal to being killed on lethal more, tho it’s prob because the upgrades went up and I don’t have them.
Im playing this now on lethal and its my first playthrough, its pulling my hair out, but its worth it, every kill feels great
im late to this discussion.
Might just change it to lethal difficulty now since I know it's one shot for everyone. love that style.
Very good work on the video 😎😎😎
Another good build you could run is a terrify build with the ghost armor
I finished it on easy for story, restarted on hard for combat and I'm struggling, apparently I suck, lol.
You should've started on normal lol cause your timing for parrys will be way off. Good luck:)
@@juliustetevano6113 the timings for the the parries is really fucked imo it's so difficult to master lol even sekiro is easier xD
@@donatotusi9140 lol not even close man. Sekiro is in a league of its own for difficulty
It's not too hard, especially if you use ghost moves like kunai to instant stagger or smoke bombs and chain assassinate 3 people in a row. Sekiro is WAAAYYY harder than got imo. I only just beat that Genechiro Boss when he goes lightning mode. That game is definitely way harder lol
As someone who fully completed the game on Lethal+... I wish I had found this earlier. I can't count the amount of times I've had to replay duels or have lost to random roaming Mongols.
Thank you for the tips ! I didnt even finished the game because Im on the vacation right now but once I return I will finish the game hopefully.
of course!
I love this game. Thank you Sucker Punch!
1:02 and 1:05-can someone explain in great detail how he did this move? I’m on PS4. What buttons, what order, what outfit, etc? Give me as much detail as you can please!
Its a ability called perfect dodge in the evasion/dodge skill tree
General Kenobi - Thanks!
Without change something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken! Oh wait... wrong galaxy. I mean, may the Force be with you Master Jedi.
my favorite trick is to use the mongal armour when you fight the lord
Sakai armor and katana maxed out with every charm in melee damage. It might not be as good as Gosaku armor but damn is it fun. Try not to use ghost weapons.
I planned on doing a 2nd run thru on Lethal before they announced New Game+ but now I'm just going to do it on NG+ unless they add a way to skip CSs
I still think Kensei armor with a kunai /resolve build pretty much the one used in this video, is the best in the game regardless of difficulty
I had to lower the difficulty because it was impossible for me to go. Thanks for the tips.
Looks fun. When will this come out on xbox??
Literally did my first playthrough on lethal and now I'm on lethal+
First time playing ghost of tsushima, Picked lethal and Having fun but i lack Good Items and Abilities
Planning on it if we get a new game+
Spearmen are not an issue. Just block normally when you have the spear parry. In dodging, learn to DODGE!!
I don’t play lethal because I prefer to feel like a badass and plus with the right charms on medium you can pretty much already 1 shot most enemies
Does anydody know that skill at 1.02, the quick lethal stab kill right after an enemy heavy strike(red light strike)?
How to perform that cool strike ?
It’s called the perfect dodge and falls under the evasion technique
