When using a bow, there is a unique concentration skill that allows you to slow down time while shooting. Almost like the Dead Eye skill from Red Dead. Always use this concentration skill during combat. You’ll be able to take out those pesky archers so much easier
I played this game for DAYS without upgrading techniques, stances, etc. when I finally realized I could upgrade all of my stances and techniques, I had enough points to do like 90% of them in one single shot. Lol. Immediately enhanced my character play.
The black powder bomb I saw as more of a combat opener, something you drop at their feet before you drop into the fight yourself, leaving them staggered or on fire right as you arrive
Honestly only go for perfect party, heal parry and arrow block, then get roll, dodge attack and sprint. You can then sidestep attack red attacks from swords 🗡 and jump attack or side the spear. + get 1 point in sword stance for attack since really good to finish of brutes fast. But get 4 points in water 💧 you need this to rush then shields with water hold attack. Ps enemy’s are also blind for hights so get high and start to scout 😀
Once you pick up the Sakai family armor, and fully upgrade it, you get plus 2 standoff attackers, combined with the fully upgraded standoff skills, that's 5 total. So you can often wipe out entire groups with standoff alone, which also nearly fills the ghost stance meter. I'd agree that fully upgrading the skill isn't really worth it, until later in the game when you get that armor, and have the silk to fully upgrade it, at which point, the max standoff skill becomes considerably more worthwhile.
This is the 4th video Ive watched to prepare and get an early advantage(just started only 5 minutes in) and no one had mentioned the wind chime radar. Wanna know how to get strong? Unlock your stances as fast as you can observe and kill leaders to do this. I got it done before act 1 was over. And spend all your technique points and max out stances. Use proper stance and stance attacks on enemies and most fights are easy even on hard. 3 things stance upgrades, standoff upgrade. Watch feet. Boom now youll feel OP.
One thing I didn’t agree with is the stand off you should upgrade it quick not later and also get your dad armors so you can do extra kill. Reason why it’s because it kill the enemy quicker and give you a lot a charms when you ran out. Some enemies are tough so it’s better if you kill 6 of them in a stand up and watch the rest run away.
I got ps5 yesterday,my 1st ps. Still learning controller. I play this on hard and game is amazing. Altho, i use aim help with bows, i just don't know how to target with controller
I have to disagree about not upgrading the standoff tree. Standoffs are easy kills and spending three points early in the game to get three easy kills to help thin out a Mongol camp seems like a bargain to me. Sometimes you can do more than one standoff too so that's six freebies right there!
I understand, and this is something I think should be mostly down to doing whatever you enjoy in the game, but not doing standoffs actually ends up netting you more kills much faster: ua-cam.com/video/BvEEVq_-VUQ/v-deo.html
Good vid - but i disagree with (and I'm sure you saw this coming) not prioritizing the standoff streak. In fact, my one regret is not putting stock into it immediately. Especially for those just starting off, most of the early game forts and open world monguls you come across are in small numbers. The open world Monguls usually come in packs of 3 - 5 in fact. So having the standoff streak means you can eliminate the vast majority of the pack you're facing in open world situations during standoff. A pro-tip for the early game would also be to OBSERVE Leaders before killing them. This means sneak upon a Leader without being seen and from a distance you'll get the option to observe. Doing so gives you a leader skill point, and then when you eventually kill said leader you'll get another - doubling your leader skill points. This means you can unlock the water stance by the 2nd fort you take on, and wind stance soon after. You can then proceed to embark on sidequests for the mythic quests, and tackle other minor forts. As for Forts, one pro-tip would be to stealth kill as many of the perimeter enemies you can (without risk of being spotted) then do a standoff near where one of the brutes are. If you have the streak, you have a good chance that the Brute is one of the 3 you can one-slash during the standoff streak taking out what could otherwise be a nuisance. More-so, if you're lucky, the 3 you take out are the only people near the perimeter and you can run around to another entrance point and initiate a new standoff streak. Attacking forts this way, especially early on, will allow you to cakewalk through forts having to avoid being ganged up on and being able to explore the continent in act 1 without fear of being overpowered.
Hey! Great tips. I know some people are going to prefer the standoff upgrade earlier for that reason but I still think you'll get even more out of your points if you spend them on upgrading your stances to do more stagger damage for example. The tips on clearing the perimeter I think apply to any game with stealth mechanics, like Far Cry or Assasin's Creed.
Nah, the stand-off mechanic is basically a combat crutch imo. It was cool for the first hour or so of the game, but I'd definitely recommend investing in more practical skills early on. Taking down 4+ enemies with melee (or even stealth) is just far more satisfying than abusing stand-off's as far as I'm concerned. But to each his own. 🤷🏿♂️
Pretty sure when you first get heavenly strike it doesn't use resolve but later it gets upgraded to be more powerful against staggered enemies then it uses 1 resolve.
I'm about 3 hours in on Medium difficulty and am having a lot of trouble with multiple enemies. I fudge up half of the standoffs... any tips on timing? I'm coming from many years of for honor on the xbox so Idk if its the controller or just the timing. I feel like I can't figure out the timing window. I want to practice and then next thing I know, I'm out of resolve and dead :(
we're about the same in terms of play time..one tip for standoffs you may not know is you only have to hold triangle for the 1st attack. When the others run up you just press attack. You don't move until the opponent does. I failed the first few but starting to get it now.
Best way to master the stand off is to just watch their feet! They'll try to fake u out a few times only moving their upper body, but they'll never move their feet until they attack. That's what i do anyway
I usually screw up too after playing on my xbox then jump to my ps4, the difference in actions involving the controller can screw you up too but practice on those little gathering along the roadside, there usually is like only 4 enemy and they jump you like 2 at a time but that should give you some practice without using up your resolve, in fact it should gain you some after defeating them. Once you've mastered taking on 4 then you should try a little more at once.

Also I sometimes have a hard time in brawler/hack and slash games when fighting large groups of mixed type enemies. If the combat is like the original assassins creed games, then I'd likely enjoy got. Can anyone advise me? Thanks
Hey! Combat is a bit harder than Assassin's Creed. You can always bump it down to easy if you want anyway. Once you start getting Ghost Techniques, which are the stuff like the smoke bomb and what not, combat can get pretty trivial since you have plenty of options for basically 1 hitting anyone (check out my ghost build: ua-cam.com/video/BvEEVq_-VUQ/v-deo.html) The biggest problem are large groups of mixed enemies, so prioritize sticky bomb and kunais, since they can damage multiple enemies at once. How to get strong real fast?
Play on Easy mode.
True!
Normal mode is easy mode let's be honest
You sound like a youtuber called tactical potato.
Give me 👍 if you play on lethal difficulty just gone back in 2023
I dont get the no spoilers shit there isn't much of a story to spoiled is the shortest game I have played in my 30 years of playing games its the worst 98 dollars I ever spent it's the most waste of time I had all the skill trees unlocked before saving your uncle and once you have parry on lock the game is way to easy and I play on lethal
Why did you pay $98 for a game?
@@monoespacial because I live in new Zealand
@@monoespacial and that's waiting for it to go from 120 to 98 its shit here
That's crazy. I don't think there's too many games I'd like if I had to pay such a high price for them.
You do say "it's the shortest game" you've played in 30 years. That's just not true though.
I really like the game. If you do story + side content + legends mode it is easily a 60-80hr game.
stances? I think I looked at this too early...in fact, what the hell am I doing? I should just play the game instead of watching this
