You forgot all the secret place to pay respect that create an animation with the environment (some are marked with a panel telling you to bow, others are not but if you know Japanese culture a bit you know where you should bow to pay respect).
I have a few tips! When you're sprinting for long enough for Jin to get tired just jump every ten seconds or so and it will "reset" his stamina. The Charm of Inari is broken. If you're diligent you can easily max your gear out in the first Act. Speaking of broken charms, there's a charm that poisons enemies who investigate chimes. You keep all of your gear and skills and upgrades, you can level up your equipment even more, the game becomes slightly harder, and you can skip cutscenes! Can't recommend it highly enough.
@Epoxygleu i played this game on hard from the start and it isnt hard. I barely even used the broken equipment. Like, at most I used kunais, and kunais are broken af.
Idk if it's in the video but I found a rare animation yesterday. I was in the straw hat's village in act 2 standin on the porch of the main village. My objective was 20m behind me (I didn't realize) and I swiped up for wind. No wind came, but the wind marker was white meaning that I should see it, then Jin pulled a single leaf out of his pocket and let it drop in the air to tell where the wind was going. I did this like 3 times when I realized what was triggering it, but after I moved outside then back on the porch I couldn't replicate it, it was just normal wind
I wanted the ghost armor earlier that's when I truly felt like The Ghost Jin looks so badass with that armor and mask on but getting it when you did was fitting if you played the game to that point
It’s awesome u can explore at ur leisure there aren’t TONS of icons peppering ur map like AC and FC etc :) I see foxes, birds or smoke stacks I go check em out I use my eyes I love a minimal HUD
The lightning storm is a reference to the "kami kaze", the "divine wind" that sank the Mongol fleat with a storm at sea. You can even name the horse "kaze" meaning "wind". Also, you can assassinate an enemy even if the square button doesn't show, you need to jump closer or turn to them as you drop from higher, then if you're lucky and skillful enough the button to assassinate will appear. And if you press the wind slider several times Jin will throw some leaves into the wind. The berserk poison darts work on enemy dogs too. Personally, I prefer to guide bears into enemies camps or bait patrols into bear territory. Pigs are smarter than that though.
You can bow to not just places with a wooden bowing sign, but a lot of unmarked things in the game to trigger some form of environmental animations... for example bowing in front of Taka's grave or loyal friend's grave... I may be wrong with this one but I noticed that if I ride a random horse it would try to throw me off but not when I ride my own horse.... When I ride my own horse and not move for awhile it would start sorta kicking its leg and the character would lean forward and pat the horse to calm it down... If you whistle for the horse and keep running, the horse will come and keep running alongside you
As a person is on fire roll if its in grass nothing happens to the armour, roll in mud it sticks, if it rains and thunderstorms the fire dissipates faster without to roll, but preferably roll its faster. The mud that sticks to armour get in water waist high that part is clean, to swim mud is gone completely. Walk into water with light color clothes not armour are soaked and moves differently ever slightly. Bow and arrows shoot enough and run out jin will reach back and look at his hand in "where are they".
Once you complete the yarikawa main missions and the mythic tale "spirit of yarikawa's vengeance", if you come back to the ruins of old yarikawa, you'll find a samurai who, together with three or four other warriors, will try to kill you for revenge for the yarikawa rebellion. Not so different from killing bandits, but still fun for the background
If you have the adventures outfit there's an option in the game to locate any of the secret hidden items and locations in the game As long as you're wearing the outfit you just press right on the d-pad when you are on the map screen
There's actually another event that isn't marked on the map, though it doesn't involve any combat. When you unlock the third map and are able to travel south safely by progressing through a certain point in the story, there is a huge temple area close to it. It would have people outside of it, unable to go in the temple grounds because the Monks won't allow people on the land, not wanting to risk them being attacked by Mongols. You can talk to some of the people being held outside and have them tell you where to go, but the game won't put a mark on the hud for you to follow. Instead, you'll have to keep in mind what they said (it's really simple to remember and figure out, too) and go there to help solve the problem. There's no fighting involved in this, but it was a great attention to detail of the aftermath of the raids and pillaging. It really caught me off guard when I was just randomly exploring and getting some cosmetic items. I THINK it was the temple where it had the Second Son bandana (Which is a reference on it's on. And I also think the theme of it plays when you get it. I'm not positive, but when I picked it up a song I never heard started to loudly play) on one of the towers, but I'm not certain.
It’s subtle, but I love the bowing mechanic - walking around villages and temples if you bow at villagers they will almost always bow back - some even get up off the floor just to bow. Also if you encounter any corpses on your travel (which you will….many) if you bow to them Jin always says a little something as a mark of respect.
When you behead the mongol leader and hes still crawling on the ground, it feels like it was done on purpose. If you've ever heard that chickens can survive a few minutes without their head then this may make more sense, its trying to give you a gross feeling in your gut.
@@weaver3636 Effectively what kills you in that scenario is suffocation, your brain shuts down because it's not getting any oxygen. You'll be conscious for 10 seconds then it's lights out.
Not sure if this was mentioned but I thought it’s also neat that depending on Jin’s actions, the dialogue for side quests may change as well. In the side quest where a woman asks Jin to steal rice from bandits, you could either sneak and steal or kill the bandits. It changes the dialogue when you speak with the lady.
I’m like hella late but during the funeral of Jin’s dad, they say that he’s the wind at Jin’s back and that his mother is the birds, both guiding him to things that’ll help him retake Tsushima. You could conclude from that that the idle animation of the bird is Jin’s mom checking up on him.
Another detail: If you bow to the npc dead bodies the in the mongols camps or ones that where places by mongols Jin says something for them. Not sure if all but so far has for me.
If you didn't already know... with regards to the weather: there is a much higher chance of rain/storms if you perform a lot of ghost tactics. It's intentional as it signifies the impending storm that you bring to the world.
I think it's something they need to change. It was a good idea on paper, but in game the abundance of storms and rain starts to get overwhelming after a while. I think this is a sentiment shared by almost everyone.
@@mcarr416ix It can be annoying when you're playing with earbuds/headphone. I had to change the weather because the constant thunder is killing my ears lol.
The weather thing, it isn't affected by fighting in general, its affected by the style of fighting you are doing (samurai or ghost). Going down the path of the ghost will result in many more storms, while samurai will have sunny weather.
You have 2 Jumping attacks 1 where u press rectangle = Fast attack / can be blocked if misstimed 2 triangle = a kick that only damages the enemy guard / can also be blocked The reaching for grass is even shown in the cinematic opening of the open world
This was so cool! I have never seen Jin drag his hands through the flowers while on his horse. Seen him do it while walking. Love this game. Can't wait to try getting back into the closed bases (didn't know those locked either, thanks) and I just caught the trailer for Legends release date and can't wait to try that out!
How about The map of a region gets cleared for you when you liberate all the camps in it. So you dont need to walk all the fog away cause the small cloud bursts wont do everything for you
one more thing, there is an chance to when you call the wind, (you need stay still) jin get an flower in his hand an throw it, can be an flower and it can be an leaf too
Same here! Metal Gear Solid 1 was brilliant! I remember the dual-shock controller was new then. Knocking out the girl, then checking her pulse was surprising. Also, defeating Psycho Mantis required thinking outside the box ... literally. :D .. For many years I thought I would never enjoy a game that much, until I started playing the Mass Effect trilogy.
I juat found this secret you could miss very esaly. When you upgrade jins katana , from about level 5 to max each upgrade gives you a different hamon, very cool if you ask me.
I've finished the game I have never seen an option to brutalise. In the last battle I did a move where I ran up a person body then killed them. I've only ever done this once and can't recreate it.
You mentioned you get a lot of stormy weather.. that is because you are fighting without honor and using ghost weapons often. If you face your enemies head on and use the "standoff" option more regularly, the game will react with sunny weather/clear skies. Another hidden mechanic in the game.
The first time I watched one of his vids I said the same exact thing lol their voices and even the way they speak. They gotta be from the same region or something.
@@recht_voor_zijn_raap5506 didn't knew that. With joraptor I heard immediately he is from the Netherlands because of his Dutch accent but now I can hear it here aswell.
I wish they add samurai hunting us down sent by the shogun but instead of fighting them normally a duel would be cool but ordinary samurai soldiers we fight normally
something I discovered (probably common knowledge) is that you can kill a herd of swine with a powder bomb, which is super convenient since killing three pigs with a bow usually ends up in one getting away
I‘ve seen a lot of love for this game, and I just beat it, but I honestly don’t get why everyone loves it. Just to preface, the previous games I played before this were breath of the wild, sekiro, and the last of us 2, and the whole time I was playing the game, I just kept feeling unsatisfied compared to the feeling I got from those games. While exploring, I thought the scenery was nice, but I wished for the ridiculous amount of freedom to climb anything and fly anywhere of breath of the wild. During combat, using the stances was cool, but I missed the intensity and satisfaction of sekiro’s poise system and reading enemy attacks. During all of the cutscenes, I just couldn’t help but notice how much worse the facial animation was and how much less compelling these scenes were in terms of acting. I did think the environment was really pretty and that there were some cool story moments in act 2, but other than that, I feel like I just missed something that everyone else seemed to get. Totally willing to discuss with anyone who thought the game was a masterpiece on what I missed though.
Ghost isn't another Red Dead Redemption 2. It doesn't have those kinda killer graphics or arguably acting. But with that said, it still should be top 10 for games on the PS4. It may not be basically flawless, but to me that's okay
Ralph. I was sad but wasn’t enough for me to tear up. tbh I never bonded with my horse, every time I’m in the middle of battle and want a quick getaway, my horse just runs far away
The catapult and headless moving Mongol happened. I haven’t found any of the “hidden encampment”. One that wasn’t mentioned was two ladies on the hills- one a samurai other a peasant. The samurai says she can get you pass the mongols and you have to zoom in (second act only). Don’t want to say much. But I thought that was interesting.
8:54 he does the animation to shake the blood off his katana. for a samurai game i thought there weren't nearly enough animations like that. is there any way to trigger it more often?
@@ragnarlothbrok4827 I know right, I just hate it when your in the middle of doing something even if it's a main mission the yellow bird pops up and it's really irritating
If you stand still and activate the wind, jin will have some more unique animations, like looking around surprised of the sudden breeze or throwing leaves into the air
GOT has probably the best death animations, make it a great example of how a game should be. Look at Hitman, they all goes down like all generic npc, different state and animation = Immersive videogame!
There is also another catapult in Kamiagata, Sago, Kamiagata Falls and I don't know if it spawns when you are in act three or you completed the last "Norio Tale" or you completed the game, but I found it when getting the last mongol artifact.

I unintentionally 100%'d this game just enjoying it and roaming around. Matching outfits taking pictures there is so much to do.
Me, too😉
It’s awesome u can explore at ur leisure there aren’t TONS of icons peppering ur map like AC and FC etc :) I see foxes, birds or smoke stacks I go check em out I use my eyes I love a minimal HUD
Anyone still playing in 2024 on PS5?
You can horse-jump into Shimura castle from the south pretty easily.
“Hey Uncle remember when you said you would hunt me down, well here I am”
I tried it but the 1.06 update fixed the bug, there is an invisible wall blocking me from jumping to the next rock
When ur on your horse and not moving he tries throwing you off his back if ur not moving
Who here in 2024?
I have no idea why I waited so long to play this game. But I just finished it and it is now in my top 5 of all time! Absolutely phenomenal game
The storms are directly related to your play style. The more Ghost you are the more storms you'll have, I basically have a never ending thunderstorm.
If you have the adventures outfit there's an option in the game to locate any of the secret hidden items and locations in the game
As long as you're wearing the outfit you just press right on the d-pad when you are on the map screen
Is this jorraptor’s second account
I thought the same thing
Haha. 👍
Seriously though, even says super appreciated
Its Omi Monastary.
Nate Fox cinfirmed that the change in weather is directly linked to our playstyle. If we play more like a Ghost there are a lot more thunder storms.
Nope.
Yeah, there have been cases of humans "living" a few seconds after decapitation, but not as long as in the game
@@boringsupernova4836 the longest you'll be conscious after decapitation is 20secs. Damn, the longest 20 secs we might experience.
@@dempkuun9253 I wonder if we feel anything at this point. Probably burns like crazy or a sense of being choked.
@@weaver3636 i hope none of us gonna experience that
@@weaver3636 Effectively what kills you in that scenario is suffocation, your brain shuts down because it's not getting any oxygen. You'll be conscious for 10 seconds then it's lights out.
You can tell that this game was made with heart and with all the good intentions.
*cough, cough* Ubisoft
I freaking love this game. Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, and Red Dead Redemption II.
Add God of War to this list and that my top 4 so far
Add in Witcher 3 with minimal HUD to no HUD.

Bow to dead bodies, fallen samurai for some dialogues.
Woop early squad. Awesome vid :D
I completely abandoned the stealth in this game and didn't even consider that a option lmao
Also if you go back to her house sometime after completing the mission you’ll see she’s been murdered and there are Mongols there instead.
I really hope New Game plus comes out for Ghost of Tsushima
Well it did
Started the game last week and I’m loving every single minute of it.
I want a full face covering. I know we're not actually ninjas but a ninja face cover would be awesome
Another detail: If you bow to the npc dead bodies the in the mongols camps or ones that where places by mongols Jin says something for them. Not sure if all but so far has for me.
Yep , I do that, too. Just seems like something he (I) should do...
Yeah, I do it every time I see one!
Yeah, I always do this too, to pay respects to the dead.
This game was the best game
》Something u miss go to Taka grave and touch ( “bowing-down sign”) see what happens 🤯
It’s not killing an enemy, it’s using Ghost tactics that make the weather more stormy. Devs confirmed this!
You can change the weather by playing the flute. Every song represent a weather. I do it often if the storm are coming
@@potatocandy7548 I also change the weather frequently with the flute. Too frequently 😉
@@mcarr416ix it makes sense tho. Historically speaking that is. Mongols where driven awake by a legendary storm thus stopping their forces.
@@mcarr416ix It can be annoying when you're playing with earbuds/headphone. I had to change the weather because the constant thunder is killing my ears lol.
1:10 just reminds me of gladiator with russel crowe walking through his wheat field
Hot springs have steam that rises and you can see them from a distance.
It also has a significant red tree with crooked trunk. Like a red bonsai.
Play the flute.. it changes the weather..
I just started playing this game......I see what the hype was. Its awesome
The weather thing, it isn't affected by fighting in general, its affected by the style of fighting you are doing (samurai or ghost). Going down the path of the ghost will result in many more storms, while samurai will have sunny weather.
You can also change the weather with your flute
The flute thing is good to know thank you!
Just platinuned this morning 😁. Starting another play through on lethal ugh. This game is amazing
Word of advice for lethal. Make sure you parry every attack you can and roll aroud like its witcher 3
its up to 3 enemies (mostly spear) will outnumber you, sometime the archer join in
I love the mini stories captured in what are basically dioramas you find at the pillars of honor
You have 2 Jumping attacks 1 where u press rectangle = Fast attack / can be blocked if misstimed 2 triangle = a kick that only damages the enemy guard / can also be blocked
The reaching for grass is even shown in the cinematic opening of the open world
Just got the platinum last night. Such a superbly crafted game!
I love this game. It's my game of the year.
Does anyone know how can you check your progress in the game. To see how many hours you put in and mission status?
@Higinio Martell III lol 😆
Save your game. Next to the saved game you will see the hours you spent so far. The main game and Iki Island together took me 147 hours.
Didn’t know the flute animation and I already finished the main story. Thanks!
Seriously?
How about
The map of a region gets cleared for you when you liberate all the camps in it. So you dont need to walk all the fog away cause the small cloud bursts wont do everything for you
one more thing, there is an chance to when you call the wind, (you need stay still) jin get an flower in his hand an throw it, can be an flower and it can be an leaf too
Man, I haven’t enjoy a good game since Metal Gear Solid 1 for PS1
Ghost is the best game for 2020
Anyone else feel like the game plays way better with the characters speaking Japanese?
faxxxxx if you dont set japanese as the language you are just weird
I would but the lips are still in English
@@julienhaerynck356 you’re weird you weeb
I've finished the game I have never seen an option to brutalise. In the last battle I did a move where I ran up a person body then killed them. I've only ever done this once and can't recreate it.
that headless comander moving, it scare me too, if it bug, i hope suckerpunch not fix it, because it terify me too!!!
You mentioned you get a lot of stormy weather.. that is because you are fighting without honor and using ghost weapons often. If you face your enemies head on and use the "standoff" option more regularly, the game will react with sunny weather/clear skies. Another hidden mechanic in the game.
Is this Joraptor lol sounds so much similar
Yea I get that a lot . Not related though xd
The first time I watched one of his vids I said the same exact thing lol their voices and even the way they speak. They gotta be from the same region or something.
The way he pronounces "appreciated" is uncanny
Its because Khraze and Joraptor are both Dutch.
@@recht_voor_zijn_raap5506 didn't knew that. With joraptor I heard immediately he is from the Netherlands because of his Dutch accent but now I can hear it here aswell.
this game is absolute art
I wish they add samurai hunting us down sent by the shogun but instead of fighting them normally a duel would be cool but ordinary samurai soldiers we fight normally
Didn't know about the bird. That's wonderful.
I just want more side quests
Ur kidding right most game is side quest take break
Idk how but the sidequests were hella fun in this game. They had the same conclusion or requirements but they were super fun
The side quests is very fun and enjoying unlike others games side quests that makes to want to put the PlayStation in sleep mode.
Side quests in this game is pretty good but god the stories are way too tragic
"Some downright hilarious" **shows enemy bleeding out**
I’m so sad my adventure ends and got nothing to do. Just waiting for NG+.
something I discovered (probably common knowledge) is that you can kill a herd of swine with a powder bomb, which is super convenient since killing three pigs with a bow usually ends up in one getting away
I am a 103 year old and my grandchildren love this game
calm down he can do what he wants
jeez wow
On the beginning of act 3 and I don’t want this game to end yet 🥺
Warning: *Spoilers of the end of Act 2 in the replies*
I teared up when our horse died
Ralph. I was sad but wasn’t enough for me to tear up. tbh I never bonded with my horse, every time I’m in the middle of battle and want a quick getaway, my horse just runs far away
@@MonoXZY and when taka died I was pisses. I get so heavily into the game. Still mad about sora smh
Ralph Jesus.. Thanks for the spoiler idiot!
I haven't enjoyed a game this much in years.
Absolutely amazing in every aspect
I wish they add The night time flute song.
There's also this cool feature that if you go "Ghost" mode (sneaking around and assassinating people) the weather becomes stormy.
She will kill the peasant girl if you look where she wanted you to zoom the camera
The headless is a bug und 😂😂😂😂
8:54 he does the animation to shake the blood off his katana. for a samurai game i thought there weren't nearly enough animations like that. is there any way to trigger it more often?
If you swipe right on the touch pad he sheets his katana and if there is blood on it he will swipe it or twist it or do something else

Great video. Im very addicted to this game.
If you stand still and activate the wind, jin will have some more unique animations, like looking around surprised of the sudden breeze or throwing leaves into the air
I still play this game. Its such a beauty. You can tell that SP put a lot of effort and love to this masterpiece.
GOT has probably the best death animations, make it a great example of how a game should be. Look at Hitman, they all goes down like all generic npc, different state and animation =

There is also another catapult in Kamiagata, Sago, Kamiagata Falls and I don't know if it spawns when you are in act three or you completed the last "Norio Tale" or you completed the game, but I found it when getting the last mongol artifact.
