  • The prequel to this episode was a three part series documenting the rest of the build of my miter saw station. In case you missed that series, I'll add links just below this text. I finally got around to adding the crowning touch to this project which is the stop block. It's a simple concept but it's a super useful timesaver that gives me repeatable, accurate cuts without having to break out a tape measure each time I need to cut something to length. It's creature features like this that are steadily making my shop start to feel like a legit wood shop.
This system includes a built-in measuring tape and we'll also add a precision adjustment on the stop block so you can dial in the measurement perfectly. Even if you change the saw blade to a thinner or thicker kerf, the measurement will be off unless something with this kind of adjustability is present in the design.

Yah, there's probably better ways to go about that but that was the only method I could think of at the time, given the tools I have available. There's always something new to learn!
