along with the last tip, notebook, should mention to read everything..to take time and learn and appreciate the lore..it adds so much to the story..and makes one appreciate the rich story and the folly of man that reduced Earth to this now beautiful state..so well written and produced and one of the greatest games..with Witcher 3 imho..thx for taking the time and effort to share..
Extra tip about the tutorial quests: They have to be the active quest in order for the tasks to count towards them. For example, one of the tutorials asks you to stun machines with a tripcaster. However, unless you have that tutorial as the active quest, you can stun machines all day long and it will never count towards the quest.
When I first played it on PS4 I actually didnt know there was a crafting like for the first 5 hours xD Since I didnt even open up a menu I just picked a direction and went along exploring the world :) Great Tips
Personally I don't think the Golden fast travel pack is as useful as people say. Yes it gives you unlimited fast traveling, but I noticed while playing the game that even when I sold all my regular fast travel packs it wouldn't be long till I had a bunch more. Yes get the golden fast travel pack when you have the materials, but it isn't something you need to rush for.

*Game runs GREAT on PC now!!* As of v1.08 (now at v1.09?) they fixed the stutter and other issues. There are major FPS drops with the RAIN but by turning down a setting (not sure which one) to HIGH my FPS mostly stays at 60FPS... if anybody cares, with a half decent CPU and GTX1080 here's my settings: 2560x1440 (but set to 80% of that resolution in game settings), combo of High/Ultra settings, forced on Adaptive VSYNC (so any drops trigger VSYNC to be turned off so I get screen tear and not added stutter... works great for non-Freesync/GSync monitor that's 60Hz... just enable Adaptive VSYNC then drop a setting and/or resolution until the FPS mostly stays at 60FPS)
That's great to hear! I've been hesitant to buy it on PC, because of the performance issues. But i might have to get it now and relive it all at higher settings and better frames!! Might even have to add a couple of mods in to spice it up!
@Slick Gaming That would indeed help! You could also do more like IGN, where they turn down the ingame-volume everytime they talk, it works pretty well! I dont want to throw a link, but search for "IGN Horizon: Zero Dawn Review" and you will see what i mean.
Ok, I'm playing this on PS5 now, and I can't switch ammo for weapons, arrows for example. It's been some time since I played this, just picked it up again in anticipation of the new PS 5 HZD coming out, and it's REALLY frustrating to be stuck on one arrow until you run out.
I believe when you have the scroll wheel out for switching weapons. try using the right thumb stick (r3) on the controller. That should let you switch between ammo if I'm not mistaken.
Love the game.... would you know why I can't change the jump action to the enter key? It won't let me in control mapping. I have been KB/M player my whole life and have always used the enter key to jump. Then I assign the \ key to sprint, which makes it very easy to go from a jump and then into a sprint. Out of sheer habit I hit the enter key and menu pops up... then I get ran over by a sawtooth or something. Just wondering...about that enter key..
I personally haven't tried to change the controls on PC, I use a controller 😅. I didn't realise they had control remapping. I'm sure its should be in something like movement or in the general tab.
I dropped the game rit after leaving the starter area after I learned pc it was on its way. I hope hzd 2 arrives on pc. My biggest flack was very painfully rare items u get from hunting. I hope there's a mod that fixes this..
I've wanted this game since watching Jingle's walk thru. After the disastrous PC port I let the Devs get their act together and recently went back to it (v1.06). I'm glad I did because the game is totally awesome. Jingles did not do it justice and he's a good narrator. I just need a better PC but at least it's matching the PS4. Looking forward to playing the base game and all of its sequels. I look forward to seeing more content from you.
I'm glad u did! was a shame that it released pretty poorly on pc. But lucky the devs are amazing and worked with us to make it a much better pc port. I Think its got a long way to go, but I'm excited for the sequel next year!
I think it depends, I personally haven't played Sekiro so I can't really give you a reason to play or not to play it. But for death stranding, if your looking for a more relaxed narrative game, I would recommend that. Otherwise id say HZD is probably a lot more adventure focused with a mysterious and fun story, as well as having more active and engaging game mechanics, at least when comparing it too death stranding.
I have been playing with keyboard and mouse and while the mouse is great for aiming, the keyboard is really awkward to use for movement in combat as there are 7 buttons that affect movement.
Really? For the most part a lot of the issues were patched out, so it should run a lot smoother. However if its still not working id recommend looking at some mods that fix some of the issues.
Slick Gaming nah it's drop in coop when you select what monster you need for the part you need. I actually made new friends as none of mine had bought it at the time I was playing it. I would say if you like final fantasy games and you've played horizon the monster hunter should be on your bucket list for sure!
@@markios6824 You said Monster Hunter is like Final Fantasy and Horizon Zero Dawn. Is the game have a good story at all? Or the story is generic like most other MMORPG out there? I like Horizon because it have a look story as well as fighting huge monster
Khanh Di Nguyen for some reason the "...read more" button takes me straight to reply. What I can gather your concerned horizon is play like final fantasy. That's not what I meant. I meant monster hunter has certain elements of final fantasy mixed in, such as. Japanese writers, anime style characters, Japanese artwork, huge melee weapons that wouldn't be wieldable in real life. Horizon is similar to monster hunter, but moves further away from final fantasy. The similarity between monster hunter and Horizon are hunting parts from big animals, animal hunting/tracking. Horizon is not mmo as it's solo play only, maybe a future version may have mmo, that would be great.
This is a good looking game and the sci fi narrative is very good too. However, I ended up deleting it from Steam because of the constant virtue signalling and heavy handed anti male social justice messaging. It became insulting. I don't want dismissive gender politics in my games.
Look I don't think its very "anti male". It is defiantly pro "female" and they really try to make Alloy come off as a strong protagonist, in which I think its fine. How far into the game did u get?
@@SlickXP I finished the main game out of a sense of duty but the constant male bashing and portraying almost all male characters as bafoons, drunkards or evil was just too much. Also at the end where she said she was too busy to have children but she would only want a daughter if she had one. That was beyond the pale. Strong female protagonist great, liberal egalitarian agenda great. Misandry....no thank you. What a shame because the game itself was good.
I've been playing this game for 3 years and didn't know there was a dynamic HUD. That is awesome!

Couldn't agree more! there is a lot of context to be found just out in the world as your explore! It's full of great little details.

That treasure box tip was nice to know.
Also, put FOV to its max range. "Field of Vision".
Glad you found the tip useful! 😁 Also great tip about the FOV!

Extra Concentration: jump while aiming! It helps teach your brain to aim while moving -AND helps track critters that otherwise move too fast
