Its the map is too far spread out and too big. S alot of it is traveling in empty space even if you fast travel where you can. Its too overwhelming

Very fun game to play while waiting for other stuff to come out. Most important thing is breaks. Breaks help so much to not get burnout you don’t have to finish it in a week.

They didn't fire the people who worked on Forspoken, if they're going to build on FF16 and FF7 they could build their mage archetype from Frey. Forspoken fixed the age old issue of traversal in FF games and it's baffling how neither FF16 nor FF7 Rebirth took inspiration from that. Instead you have the mess that is traversal in Rebirth and the basic traversal in 16 where the jump button is useless outside of combat since all traversal is context sensitive.

Arisen who fail to best the dragon become drakes, while those that best the dragon and fall to the senechal become the next dragon. The pathfinder seems to me to be the will of the brine stepping in to right the course of the cycle because this words senechal refused to be the worlds "battery" and descended to unite the people, thus the beastren statues all over both remaining kingdoms. The part that confuses me is how the "mad king" still exists in spirit form after being slain by an arisen when presumably there was no dragon to choose one at the time. Leads me to believe the pathfinder consumed or merged with the previous dragon to force the cycle to continue after imprisoning what was left of the previous senechal. Bothers me that we are forced to speculate so much, and that new fans likely won't bother to try without the benefit of knowing the first games lore. If they intend to complete the lore in a dlc, that would be nice, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Would rather see all the dead end areas turned into entrances to hard core bitterblack style dungeons.

finally someone addressing all the people mindlessly saying the story is bad, its dd story beats and philosophical, you have to piece things together and some things dont even have an answer. my god its crazy people freaked out but are fine with elden ring when that doesnt tell you the story right to your face either. the story could of did a little more thats the reasonable take i think. i think dd2 is fine besides a few baffling decisions and there barely being an endgame. as someone who played dd1 multiple times, and fondly remember watching my buddy play it on ps3 back in the day it feels almost the same which is why i probably have a bias and dont mind it. dd2 is dd1 with a new coat of paint, but worse endgame and little less skill diversity. i like both of them but do like dd1 better with endgame and gear / skills being more diverse. dlc would do a lot for this game

I loved it so much I restarted after killing all the order members, getting mjolnir and Excalibur, looting every chest, maxing out the skill tree, all of the flyting, and most of the side quests. Sucks they didn’t include ng+. There’s such a good variety of skins weapons and abilities. It’s fun to progress through the skill tree and see Eivor improve as a warrior

The biggest weakness of Godfall is that before lvl 50, everything is basically a prologue, which you play through, yes, it's a prologue just walking ya through the story, the lvls, the mechanics, because around lvl 50, you will start to notice, hey, there exist more depth to the game, each valorplate got their own playstyles, you just gotta unlock them first (which is easier when you're lvl 50). Everything till that point can feel pretty much meh, 5-6,5/10 experience, but with the end game stuff, it feels more like a solid 7-7,5/10, although it takes you probably about 15-20 hours to reach that point ish.

Just started playing and tbh, I completely love it. I'm a guy that's all into Vikings, Odin and Norse mythology and never played this game because other people were saying it's bad and I didn't wanted to ruin my love for the AC games so I just didn't play it. I got the game for 15 euros now because it was on sale and I'm glad I've actually made the choice to just try it out.

This game was honestly my biggest disappointment of 2024, i always felt the first game was deeply floored, but it had had the potential to be something truly great. This game basically just felt like they learnt none of the lessons from the first game and proceeded to make the same mistakes all over again. i didn't play the first one till dark arisen so i don't know what the vanilla version was like, but the lack of enemy variety in 2 along with a weak story and combat that post level 30 its basically impossible to loose. If we get an expansion maybe it can do something to improve the base experience but honestly idk.

Man I didn't even think of using the Sealing Phial to bring a Maester into the Grigori fight, or any fight really, that's genius. Love watching hours long videos about my favourite games and I'm grateful you released this two days ago instead of 6+ years after release like most retrospectives do.

I'm only at the beginning of the video, but I wanted to point out the title card critique. To me, it’s clear they originally aimed for a much larger scope than what we ended up with. It seems likely that they intended the secret ending to be more expansive than the main game itself, with the Dragon’s Dogma 2 title card reveal marking the point where the real journey began. This would make sense considering the original design of the first game. In the original design, the worlds were layered on top of each other, each with its own sun but sharing a single moon. The real ending was probably set on the moon, as it was meant to serve as a very large dungeon. Dragon's Dogma 2 gives me a strong impression that they had to cut the game down significantly. It allegedly had a significantly smaller budget than the first game because CAPCOM did not think it would sell well.

30fps is unacceptable… I played about 30 minutes and quit just not a game that should release below 60 fps in 2024.

Great video! This game deserves more love from the players, community and even the creators/executives. I really hope that we get a directors cut or dlc/expansion, so we can expend more time on it.

In all seriousness though, as a Dragon's Dogma fan on the fence when it comes to playing DD2 for myself, I think this video informed me on everything I needed to know and much more. Admittedly the story basically went exactly where I expected based on the lore drops found in the first Dragon's Dogma's Dark Arisen expansion, but some of the ideas they had in store were interesting nonetheless.

As someone who beat DD1 multiple times, while the title for Dragon's Dogma 2 being locked might be stupid but because DD2 feels like a reboot of the first game, it finally felt like something new when I went to the Unmoored World. Game was telling me "This is the new stuff! This is DD2!". Yeah still dumb but it worked for me lol.

I was considering jumping back into the game after seeing it got a somewhat good update but yet i noticed the main thing that turned me away from did not get changed. The valorplates still dont have any unique skills or abilities, theres no new weapon classes, theres only 3 finishers, there's no mini map, etc. I won't be playing until it gets a real update that makes it what it should be.

The game is boring, long, repetitive quests, this game does not give the player any kind of adrenaline rush

I didn't like it when it came out. Stopped playing not long after getting to England.... It was on sale on steam recently. So bought it. 100 hours in and still loving it. Originally I played oddasy and origins and then got valhalla. Maybe I was just over assassins creed at the time.

I played AC Odyssey, and now I'm playing Vallhala. And I really don't like Vallhala as much I liked Odysseys, and I think I'll give it one more day and then I'll probably stop. Why I don't like Vallhala? I don't understand main character, The main character is just bad person, and it's about raiding and stealing from innocent villages, and just... I can't agree with main character moral compass at all.
