Nice explanation. One item to note is that Motifs 10 and up (not 15 and up) count for purposes of Master Writ drop chance. If it's purple/gold and not a Crown Store exclusive motif, it helps your chances of getting writs. The blue motifs (1-9) do not help, but they will help with daily writs by diversifying the style materials you can use to complete dailies and they count for the "True Style Master" achievement.
Where do you get this information from? I read everywhere that it's 15 and up since 10-14 may be purple but are base game and don't count. Diversifying the style materials is actually a good point that's true!
@@CasualLamer It's from the official forums and basically a restatement of something from ZOS_Bel_Shezzar said many years ago to the effect of the blue racial motifs not counting, nor anything which was Crown Store exclusive (it has to be obtainable in-game), but all other motifs did. Speaking to my own characters, 11-14 have resulted in very occasional writ drops once their crafting passives were high enough, but they also had 7 traits fully researched at the time (working on the 8th). It was a rate of maybe one per week, if that, but it's up to three or four per week with 9 traits and only knowing 11-14; other motifs are still incomplete. Motif 10 is iffy because I've only got two toons who know it (one is an Imperial and they get writs), but it's a gold motif, so I assume it counts.
Learned something new. I didn't know that the number of recipes/traits/motifs/runes known impacted the chance of getting writs - thought it was RNG. Now I have a new goal. Thanks!

Why does everyone forget about Stormhold for crafting, everything is more or less in a straight line. Train your horse, run a short distance to pick up writs, then you can do provisioners, jewellery, enchanting, blacksmithing, clothing, alchemy and woodworking, all next to each other. If you need the bank its on the way back to handing in writs near the stable. Leave your char next to the stable and ready for the next day. I,m at the moment doing 17 chars a day, takes me an average of 50 mins then a bit extra if I'm dropping maps and master writs at the bank every other day (when you get 40+ maps every 2 days it's not advisable to forget them lol).
@@williemurray2523 Not all maxed on crafting, mainly alchemy and provisioning at the moment. Working on enchanting next as those are best for easy master writs along with the other 2 but everything slowly increases anyway and in honesty the amount of surveys I get now can get a bit overwhelming.
The biggest problem I have with doing writs is the accumulation of surveys. I can sell unwanted master writs. But there are only three things you can do with surveys: harvest them, store them, or destroy them. Destroying them feels like a waste, storing them takes up a huge amount of slots, and harvesting them can be an immense chore, especially if you let them build up for a few days. And surveys in later DLC zones are generally less compact, which makes harvesting those even more of a chore. I really wish I could sell surveys or at least send them off to my alt account.
I agree that they can become very tedious. I wish we could send off our companions or something to collect them. Especially woodworking surveys are annoying, as Rosin is quite worthless. Only redeeming factor is that you could get an aetherial dust drop from base game surveys

I still keep everyone in Alinor. The stablemaster is a bit far off, but it is a nice arrangement overall even so. In addition to that every writ is worth between 2 and 16k and since I get 8 on average that's about 30k on average. Then also the intricate gear drops I can sell for an extra 5k every day. So we are looking at atleast 180k a day and this is while the market is in a big deflation right now. Prices were way higher when I made this calculation and it doesn't even address a few items that can drop in addition to what I mentioned. For example the occasional columbine drop. It doesn't account for the amount of surveys and gold mats you get from those either. So it's reasonable to say that even in this deflation right now 250k is doable.
@CasualLamer I don't want to play down your efforts. A new character alt up to 50 takes 2hr for veteran players and I consider you one based on your statement. It is not your fault going down this road I was into the same mess few years ago. It's the game's fault offering it as a meta option for gold making. Once a veteran knows what they do then the game becomes alt auto crafting simulator while watching Netflix. On the other end newcomers barely making 10k or fail to understand the money-making methods.
It's not that bad on console. All of the ingredients we need and items to craft are marked. It's not instant, but it isn't difficult or time consuming.
i love when they say they get so much gold per day, then in the video show you how they do not, in fact, get that much gold per day. i do my crafting writs, so i will not be selling any of my gold crafting items, or the writs themselves. based on this, i make more per day than this chump does......on xbox na, no less
I think it's always implied that they're getting things 'with such and such a value' per day. I am quite mat-rich compared to 'gold rich'. This is how people end up with 2k kutas, 75k unrefined rubedite, 6k columbine, etc. When you don't have selling guilds..
Traitbuddy seems to have an issue with jewlery as well unfortunately. Currently it shows me all traits researched for some characters despite them still needing 1 or 2. Already redid the data accumulation but didn't help :/

@@CasualLamer I was laid up the better part of a couple of years with surgeries. :)
@@hellstrike5366 I hope you're doing better now! ♥
Hey bro donate me some gold lmfaoo in have like 800 😂😂😂
Pc players lazy
Oh come on if you had add-ons on console you'd use them :D
@@CasualLamer true. I actually feel bad for console players, cuz they can't use them
To be completely honest I don't think I'd play the game to this extent without add-ons
You should definitely make a video about that
I think it's always implied that they're getting things 'with such and such a value' per day. I am quite mat-rich compared to 'gold rich'. This is how people end up with 2k kutas, 75k unrefined rubedite, 6k columbine, etc. When you don't have selling guilds..
Exactly :) the 50k I mentioned is the raw gold alone. I made a quick calculation for another comment where the 250k check out
thanks for the guide. sadly traitbuddy/traitbuddy 2.0 throw an error when you scroll over a script in gamepad mode. hope it gets an update
Traitbuddy seems to have an issue with jewlery as well unfortunately. Currently it shows me all traits researched for some characters despite them still needing 1 or 2. Already redid the data accumulation but didn't help :/
