Having a Bandit and XXL, I would say XXL is perfect for 80s and 90s tones. The British voicing perfectly nails Plexi tones and High Gain nails those JCM tones. Ultra really nails Soldano and Mesa tones depending on how you set your EQ.
Happy New year, I would go with Peavey Bandit, have you ever try Peavey VTM 120 or 60 they came out in 1987 or 1988 it was cool amp and it was hot rodded and Adrian Vanderburg use them from WhiteSnake. Question for you what Gauge strings and what Brand do you use on your Gibson Guitars like your Les Pauls and SGs and Flying Vs. and how do like your action on your guitars ? Thank you, keeping on Rocking.
Never tried those amps. I use 10s, Daddarios mostly, sometimes Ernie Ball 10s. Action has to be as very low for fast solos and cause 10s are tighter on fingers. Easier play fast solos with 9s.
