    4:03 Ferrofluid. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure it's liquid with fine metal particles in it that react to electro magnetic currents. They tense up and allign themselves with the magnetic frequencies to form spiky shapes.

    Great visualization of sound! This is physics, resonance patterns. Love it!

    Yes, the fire follows the pattern of the vibration in the tube, it is a sinus function. Oh, I wish physics would be tought this way, it's fun!

    A real Tesla experiment with lightning! Im exited. High voltage only runs through skin surface. Enjoy the physics!

    in the 1970's i put talc on a speaker and played different notes to make different patterns, inspired by a hifi manufacturers acoustic maps of their speakers, bose or spendor, or someone like that. their maps were like line contours of efficiency. yep, i was an electronic and hifi nerd.

    Shout out to Paparooski! Great suggestion.

    Happens with any liquids. Reference patters, following thesound vibration. Primary school experiment, yet music makes it interesting. Info: sound travels 3x faster in water, you cannot tell where a dolphin is coming from.

    In the later video "AUTOMATICA" Nigel gets some expensive robotic arms on loan to play with, though the video is also embellished with some special effects ;) a fun watch

    It is real. This is definitely not the only video on cymatics. Also that’s a Tesla coil he was using toward the end of the video. I can showcase a simple example of cymatics with just a Tibetan singing bowl and some salt…anyone can with just a little practice with the singing bowl. These are both very affordable. Put some salt anywhere inside the singing bowl then proceed to play it. As far as the water and other awesomeness showcased here, you have to have the right tools for it.

    Gotta love physics, I remember doing these sorts of experiments in HS and it was always a blast;
    EDIT: also that's probably ferromagnetic fluid;
    EDIT: You can actually replicate a lot of this minus the large tesla coil @ home if at a much lower budget heh

    I believe the liquid in the petri dish on top of the speaker is actually vodka

    Specific frequencies order matter specifically. Every time. Vibrations reveal sacred geometries.
    The first liquid is just water. One of the most amazing things. It's made up of two highly combustible atoms. And it is used to put out fires. Go figure.
    Different materials are used in Cymatics. Some more viscous than others, some even magnetic as in the ferrofluid you mentioned. Sometimes it was a moss spore. So light that the slightest could influence it.
    They all take the same patterns at the same frequencies.
    And to think, this is how the universe holds together.
    As for "how did we think of..." the knowledge of vibration is ancient. The same forms can be seen painted on cave walls over 10,000 years old. The Mayans had symbols in their culture that are exact matches for the forms you see.
    Theory has it that those ancient mystics sat in caves around a campfire, chanted/sang together, and the vibration of their voices moved the smoke into the formations we see in Cymatics. And then they painted that on the cave walls.
    Whether or not fungi were involved in such is highly debatable still. But...
    Groove on Walter. Love your frequency.
    Blessings.
