I have old code for the programmer who programmed old machine the same type of the machine that I would like to upload the program from the PG to CPU which also consist of two inverter and HMI as well can anybody assist me how is the procedure will follow in steps for example at the beginning I have to connect the PG to the CPU with ethernet then I click the CPU inside the TIA Portal and click up load the program after can I download the HMI program from the same connection where all the nodes connected together with switch and the inverter is connected to the switch as well, because it is first time for me to download machine from scratch so I didn't know exactly how to proceed in such situation, and I don't know if I need to make some adjustment to the PLC CPU hardware or just when connect immediately will communicate with the computer or there's a different IP address already exist, sorry for my long comment but to be honest this is first time I do such stuff so I am worried if I will ruin the hardware of the machine the matter is a little bit sensetive and I wish that the probability of error will be as much as minimum .
Please guys if someone could assist me in this matter will be highly appreciated thank you all.

Sir very well, but here my one question, when we upload data on software then how save it in laptop and after save how to download another PLC...
Just go to file .... save as .... that's it
Connect new cpu and just click down project to cpu .... that's it

In one of our S7 1200 we didnot have the source file. We tried to access the project using TIA V13 where we could see the project blocks but the upload button was inactive. Then we tried to access using TIA V12, but doing so we didnot find any project in S7 1200. Could this be due to using lower TIA version?
Yes ... contact your OEM and confirm which tiaportal version they have used to program , and also which modules like safety and drives they have used in TIA portal.
If you want to take back up only you can use simatic automation tool also

@@EASYPLCTRAINING if there is no memory card in the PLC we try to insert memory card is it possible the plc may get factory restored .
Normally it doesn't happens like this .... but if we insert a card in plc slot and power cycle it , it will take program from the memory card and run it .

Diag means diagnostics LED .... THERE are many reasons to turn ON this led ..... most common is wrong hardware configuration..... but you must go online and open the PLC diagnostic buffer to check the diag error

Because you are not using the same version of the tia portal, means the same version in which this project file was created .

You set ip address of PC? And do you know the ip address of the plc ?

See first you should know the ip address of the PLC, atleast first three for example 192.168.1.? ...... only than you can be able to search the plc.
Or more easily you try simatc proneta. With this software you don't need to set ip address on the PC just leave it blank. And it will search the network for you

Bro only chance is to upgrade the firmware to 3.0 .... once updated you can take backup

ET is an extension module.... it is used to expand the no. Of inputs and outputs in field .... simple words it is an extra card connected to PLC mostly by ethernet or profibus

If you dont know ip address of plc .... it is very simple and easy to find out using proneta software from siemens
