    I'm watching this again and I notice in your Russia game, you build CH as first district in one of your cities on non-tundra tiles. Is this because you couldn't get good adjacency for HS? Does the same rule apply to other cities or should I still build 0 to 1 adjacency HS on other cities when playing a s Russia? And how many campuses/theater squares do I want in general?

    • @HersonCiv
      @HersonCiv  9 місяців тому +7

      I built a commercial hub first in that city for three reasons. First, like you said, I had no spot available for a high adjacency holy site. Secondly, the city already had ample food available from its tiles, so I didn't need the extra food from my "Feed the World" religion in that city. Thirdly, the commercial hub was discounted thanks to the number of other districts I had completed already. If I settled a city in plains with a ton of 1-3 tiles, I would've strongly considered going for a holy site so I could get the extra food from my beliefs instead of going for a commercial hub.
      You generally just build enough theater squares to hold all of the great works you're getting from your free great person points the Russia bonus is giving you. Theater squares get most of their value from the great work slots - you don't want to make more of them than you need. You also want a campus in most cities by the time they're reaching 7 pop so that you can get enough science to defend yourself. It's okay if your production is a little low on Russia from building so many holy sites/campuses/theater squares - you can rely on Grandmaster's Chapel and the ability it grants to faith-purchase units in case you need an army. You'll probably only end up with 2-3 industrial zones empire-wide, just enough to tag all of your cities with factories and to get the eureka for Industrialization (build two workshops).
      Put up a fair number of encampments once your cities reach 10 pop (shouldn't take too long with Feed The World religion). You need them to faith-purchase corps and armies directly (with military academies) and to run projects to get a great general if it comes to that.

    Wouldn't you want more holy sites with Poland since you need temples to store your relics in?

    • @HersonCiv
      @HersonCiv  6 місяців тому +3

      You generally don't end up getting that many relics on Poland in multiplayer games because people will just declare war on you and condemn your martyrs using military units. They don't generate a relic when this happens - they only generate relics when dying in religious combat. When playing without optional game modes like secret societies etc., there simply isn't a way to generate many relics - the three slots you'll have from having the 1 free slot in the capital + 2 holy sites w/ temples is more than enough for Poland to store every relic they get in a typical multiplayer game.

    What Government Plaza's Tier 1 building should I be going for?
    The +50% production to Settlers from Ancestral Hall is mostly wasted, your empire often goes to wide for Audience Chamber to be strong, and the production boost to military units from Warlord's Throne will mostly be obsolete with Grand Master's Chapel.

    • @HersonCiv

      It's a bit of a toss-up depending on the land you spawn with. I would consider checking out my newest video, "Precisely how many settlers to produce in Civ 6", to see the breakdown on the various things that factor into this decision.
      The fact that Religious civs often only have 3 cities settled by turn 30 actually works in Ancestral Hall's favor in a way. You're able to get the free builder in more of your cities than you would be getting if you had, 4-5 cities by turn 30. Also, the production towards settlers isn't necessarily wasted - if you have a ton of chops in your capital, it's very efficient to buy a builder with faith and chop woods/resources to get settlers out quickly, rather than just buying settlers directly with faith. Chops in a city with ancestral hall will benefit from the 50% amplifier towards producing settlers, after all.
      I'd say it's pretty 50-50 on whether or not you should go for Audience Chamber or Ancestral Hall when playing religious civs, with the decision ultimately just being based on your spawn. Again, for more detail on this decision, check out the video I mentioned earlier.

    This is the original Moksha:
    "Religious pressure to adjacent cities is 100% stronger from this city. +2 Faith Faith per specialty district in this city."
    Maybe you played modded so long so you forgot that Moksha does not give culture in the beginning like that.

      As I state at the beginning of the video, this guide is for Civ VI Multiplayer with the Better Balanced Game mod. Most dedicated Civ VI multiplayer communities, such as Civ Players League (CPL) and CivFR, play with this mod.
      CWC, which is essentially the unofficial esports scene for Civ VI, also plays with this mod.
