I was there 2 weeks ago. I went to many spots including the one you were at and it was dead. No action on the whole pier the whole time I was there. Actually I pinfish got rocked somehow and lost my line. LOL. My day was so bad that I tried to see if there were pompano towards the entrance. I casted it and a damn pelican flew right through my line and cut it. Luckily that rod was light (10lb braid). Keep up the great videos!

Great video, Thonny. You Floridians do horrible in the cold weather 😅 I'm relocating to "Palm harbor" from San Diego on Christmas Day. I'll definitely see you OTW.
You're probably pulling hook by yanking multiple times. Let the circle hook get good solid pressure/drag, then set the hook to make sure it's in. And then just do smooth, fast pumps with consistent pressure, letting your reel gears apply more torque and gain line. That's the only thing i can think of that might help with how you're losing em. Apply with a grain of salt ofc, everyones gear is different.
Hey Thonny hey it's me Vinny I even watched this episode again I enjoyed it very much you always do such a good job with your videos huge fan of you Thonny buddy 👍💪💪💪
Hey Thonny buddy hey it's me Vinny you do an amazing job with your scenery to went fishing yesterday in Clearwater pass did actually really good finally caught a few a couple good size sheepshead the biggest one was 16 and 1/2 Thonny buddy 👍💪💪
I was out Saturday and today caught a small one Saturday nothing today normally do pretty good out there if you switch over to 125lb mono youll get less break offs thats all i run i started with 80 i catch small ones and big ones on the 125lb mono
You'll get way fewer break offs. I haven't had one break the 125lb, yet I saw you a couple of weeks ago filming was going shout at you, but I didn't want to disturb your fish in
🌴 😄 Arm wrestling pier monsters again, you wouldn’t lose em if ya used that thin spool of wire I gave ya , try it out put a foot or two on the end of your line , it’s thin the fish don’t see it and I’ve pulled up 4 1/2 ft shark and king Mack’s on it , they can’t chew through it , did ya see any other bait out there ? Well bud another year is almost gone wishing you and the family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 🎉
@ I was in Walmart one day looking for a thin multi- strand wire because I kept getting cut off all the time , everything in the fishing section was solid stiff heavy wire , I went to the craft section looking plastic beads , and saw thin multi strand stainless plastic coated wire called “beading wire” , it was cheap like a couple bucks a spool it’s thin can be tied in a knot and I’ve tested it with a luggage scale but it only went up to 70 lbs. I don’t know how much it will take to break it ? It’s really strong flexible and cheap , give it a try !
just run backwards when you get hit brother. you cant try to set the hook like normal and just fight them. gotta run backwards and get em out of the rocks

Good day Thonn, a nice day fishing but no one fishing. But I enjoy watching what's the feeling to fish a "tank"... no worries, I enjoy the videos.

Vid is 🔥. 35° here in VA Beach. Reds, stripers and specs rolling thick on the intercoastal waterway but too cold for me to chase them on yak.😅
35 is insane!!! But if the fish are chewing then it’s worth it I guess 😂
It's funny my first gag grouper off skyway. I fought it slow and somehow landed it
Also, it was a big one
Impressive. Most of the time I hook really big ones I get rocked up
Man you should really do a video in the Everglades! I’d love to show you around 🤙🏼
That would be awesome! I’ve heard the fishing is amazing down there
Just went out there a few weeks ago. Didn't catch anything. Terrible fishing on the pier
Can you use sabiki this time of the year.
No but you can tie up your own high and low rig with 2 hooks
How long did it take to get the bite
Not long at all sometimes they’ll hit within casting distance. Usually it’s about 3-5mins of drifting the lines out
@@Thonny alright thanks

I’ll try that. Going back out again on a good tide. Next time come up and say hi 💪
Any macks out there? I’m thinking of pulling up tomorrow 🙏 merry Christmas Thonny!
No Mack’s. I heard fort de soto is open. It’s worth checking

What size wire
I’ll have to try the wire leader! Merry Christmas and happy new year!

You're training for ice fishing in New Hampshire, right? 🙃
😅
Hey Thonny, would you be willing to do a 4 hour shore fishing charter for like $200?
Send me an email thonnyphotography@aol.com
You need to be throwing no less than 100lb especially if there’s no other lines in the water!
just run backwards when you get hit brother. you cant try to set the hook like normal and just fight them. gotta run backwards and get em out of the rocks
think dave justice hookset on juno peir
just got to 10:31on the video👍👍
Bro fell off
Out of season? Then you shouldn’t be fishing for them. In many states doing that is a violation.
