When I heard him so sincerely say, "Teach your kids to cook" , I was so, so touched and happy. It is truly scary to me how many people I know who don't know you can make pancakes if you are out of baking mix. Or how many of my kid's friends come to my house who next to never have a true home cooked meal. It is absolutely a life skill.

i'm not being a dick .. i'm considering the the interview.. youre right though , in the sense that his look is his brand and that brand is a large part of a network's marketing thus just him being seen in a visual market "is" a plug.
side note- his restaurants get terrible reviews and he had a bunch of complaints on his cooking show because he didnt wash his hands causing cross contamination. these things show that his look is the valuable commodity not his talent.

That recipe was a fail! Never use a roux for queso because when it cools off a little it gets a skin and gets really thick! Get a half stick of unsalted butter nice and hot in a sauce pan then hit it with cream cheese that's been chunked and stir it like crazy until it comes together hit it with a little milk to loosen it and then stir in sharp cheddar or whatever cheese you want a little at a time so it doesn't separate and you've got a damn good cheese sauce that won't clump up and reheats well.

This is one of my favorite episodes. Guy just made everything so much more interesting. Like when he was teasing Sean for his hand gestures and they decided to edit in a short compilation of him gesturing with music, or when he perfectly explained that recipe, like he was narrating the video along.. just so fun to watch

Guy is pretty cool. Much better than Gordon, that's for sure. It is not even about cooking. Guy comes across as a decent person. Gordon is just an asshole that promotes a toxic approach to the cooking industry and life in general. "Be an asshole! That makes you cool and masculine." To Gordon, I say, snowflake generation my ass, at least I could handle the Last Dab.

Not sure how much he wanted into it so I just put a quarter of a shot. But it does make a difference! It’s very good!
